Timothy Gregson

Timothy Gregson (b. 1947) is a graduate of The Reformed Episcopal Seminary and of Pennsylvania State University. In 1972 he began ministering to a group in Bridgewater, VA. He was ordained in May of 1973 by the Presbytery of the Mid-Atlantic when the Bridgewater group became a stated church (Berea Presbyterian Church). It was there also that he married Cindy Puffenbarger. He helped lay the groundwork for the Machen Retreat and Conference Center, the organization of a crisis pregnancy center in Harrisonburg, VA; and Blue Ridge Christian School. He also served as hospital chaplain in Harrisonburg and also chaplain in the local chapter of the Christian Motorcyclist’s Association. His ministry to an independent church in Staunton, VA, resulted in their becoming Staunton Orthodox Presbyterian Church. In addition, Pastor Gregson ministered as a short-term missionary in South Korea and in Eritrea. In June of 2002, Tim was called to be the pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Amsterdam, New York. He has ministered as a chaplain at the local Baptist Retirement Home, and served in the New York-New England Presbytery as moderator for six terms until Fall of 2014. Tim and Cindy have raised a family of five children, one boy (the oldest) and four girls with 11 grandchildren (and counting).
