John Moss

John Moss joined the staff of Westside Baptist Church in August of 2006 after retiring as a senior chief petty officer from the U.S. Coast Guard. John served 21 years in the Coast Guard as a public affairs specialist. His experience included providing media relations management for nationally significant oil and hazardous chemical spills, record drug seizures, mass migrant interdictions, large-scale search and rescue cases, and natural disasters. He holds a bachelors degree in advertising from Ferris State University.
John and his wife April have been married for 25 years and have been members of Westside Baptist Church since July 2002. He was saved at the age of 22 and has devoted himself to be a lifelong student of the Word of God. John teaches a mid-week adult bible study as well as a Bible survey course for the Westside School of Ministry. He enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities.
