Lonnie Polson

Lonnie Polson serves as pastor for preaching and teaching at Community Bible Church of Holly Springs in Inman, SC. Prior to entering the pastorate full-time in 2012, Lonnie taught for thirty-five years in the Division of Communication at Bob Jones University. During his tenure at BJU, Lonnie served as division chairman, chairman of the Speech Education department, chairman of the Theatre Department, coordinator of BJU’s Vespers ministry, director of the summer ministry team to Great Britain, and director of the university’s summer drama camp. As an active member of the BJU Classic Players, Dr. Polson appeared in or directed over forty dramatic productions. A native of Indiana, Lonnie matriculated to BJU in 1972, earning his B.A. in communication, masters degrees in speech, pastoral studies, and education, and a doctorate in educational administration. Dr. Polson's passion is the expository preaching of God's Word. His hobbies include reading, golf and running. Lonnie and his wife Margaret have two married daughters and three grandchildren.
