John Henry (1901-1984). John Henry was born in Gooselvak Mountain (now written "Kusilvak") on April 6, 1901 (although the exact day and month cannot be absolutely identified). John Henry and his wife, Agnes, moved from Gooselvak 35 miles southwest to Scammon Bay sometime before the birth of their first child, Lloyd "Roy" Henry. Roy was born in 1927. John Henry and his family were evangelized with the gospel of Jesus Christ by Covenant missionary, Oscar Andrewyuk (also spelled Andrewuk). John Henry was baptized as a witness to his confession of faith in Jesus Christ on April 12, 1933. John Henry served as a deacon and lay preacher for Scammon Bay for more than 30 years until his death on October 31, 1984.
