Jesus said, it's expedient for me to go away, but I'll send you another comforter to guide you from day to day. At Jerusalem, for power from on high, that same Spirit That they receive within my heart of vines I can feel His Holy Spirit a-dwelling deep within Well, sometimes it feels so gentle And sometimes like a mighty rushing wind But that same Spirit That brings Jesus up from death, and the grave it shall raise. Lift the body up and take me home someday. They laid Him in an empty tomb and rolled a stone at the door They put soldiers there to guard Him, they thought they'd get away with the Lord On the third day, the stone was rolled away And He came forth from the grave And I said, Spirit, the light brings Jesus up Will You take me home someday? I can feel His Holy Spirit Unveiling deep within Well, sometimes it feels so gentle And sometimes like a mighty rushing wind But that's the Spirit Good morning. Also, I have a note here. that the cost of the cross raised $355. Amen. Still more coming in. And Cheryl said, if you weren't here and you still want to give, just give her the money and she'll take care of it. Thank you, Lord. Those proceeds are going to Samaritan's Purse this year. Let's put our hands together, man. Thank the Lord. Man, that's a great mission. that when the storms hit just a block away a few weeks ago, Samaritan's Purse had two or three trailers up here already helping out. So it's going to a good cause, and as you can see, they do help the local communities as well. And let's see, we have a card here. It says, you are a blessing. Thank you for your kindness and for everything you do to make God's world a brighter place by simply being here. I say thank you to the Fulton family for being here for them after the passing of their own. And we have any other announcements that need to be made. If not, turn your pinwheel to page 420. Now I just changed it to how appropriate it's on with so many people getting vaccinations and whatnot. They kind of feel like they've been set free again. And then I can imagine if you're being too tough and afraid to go out, couldn't get out, and you've got your vaccination bill, it's like a big sip for you. Amen. Once like a bird in prison I dwelt, no freedom from my sorrow I felt But Jesus came and listened to me, and glory to God, He set me free He set me free, yes, He set me free And He broke the bonds of prison for me I'm glorified, my Jesus, to see For glory to God, He set me free Now I am climbing higher each day Darkness of night has drifted away My feet are planted on higher ground And glory to God, I'm overbound He set me free, yes, He set me free And He broke the bonds of prison for me I'm going round my Jesus to sing For glory to God, He set me free Through my sin and things that confound All of the world shall turn me around Daily I'm working, I'm praying too And glory to God, I'm going through He set me free. All you little rugrats, come on. Thank you. Thank you. It's good to be in this house this morning, and boy, I tell you, I thank God for what the Lord is doing each and every day. It's a different day for all of us, amen? As they were saying, everybody getting vaccinated in a sense. I've been going through, my first concern was shingles. And I got the first one, and I don't guess I've ever said this on there, but maybe it occurred to somebody else. I got my first shingle shot six months ago, and then about a week and a half ago, I got my second shingle shot. And now I'm on the list for the other one. I have to wait two weeks. because they can't miss those shots. And so everybody's getting some shots and some folks are not getting. And I'm not saying that to give you a hard time, but I am saying in a sense that each and every one of us, we're trying to do what we think we can do to push forward. Everybody is, and so that is what we're trying to do. I do want to commend, as I look around today and begin to realize that all those that are tuning in and seeing, we want to send a great welcome out to Sandra at Chesapeake, Virginia. And as we look around as well, it's good to have Melinda Grimes with us this morning. What a blessing as we look around, amen. We just continue to lift each other up with the passing of her husband, Bobby. And I thank God. As I look around as well, Becky Massey, tremendous, great goddess. I appreciate you being here. But you're in our prayers as well. And I want you to remember one of my dear friends, Friday, Albert Craig. I worked with his wife, Mary Craig, for 12 years at Muzzy. And Albert's mother passed away, and they did the service Friday. And I had sent some regards to them. Mary came by. Believe it or not, I didn't know where abouts Mary and them lived at. And my mother was buried way over on Rolling Hills off of 92. Well, that's close to where they lived. And she came by right before our service started with my moms. And that was just a tremendous blessing. So I want to send all that out. Did you remember in Oso this morning, we're missing Dan. This one, Dan had gallbladder surgery Friday at the very last. None of us really knew anything about it. One of those things, if you ever dealt with gallbladder, you want it to be fixed immediately, if you can get it fixed. And Sam as well with his left wrist and his left elbow. And so Sam Lewis as well. And so please remember all of our church family. And maybe there's many as well. Today I want to encourage you. Brother David was challenging you about Monday nights. And this message today deals with something that every one of us, as we look around today in these times, one of the greatest needs to pray for. Now, we're praying for the lost. We're praying for our widows and widowers, and we're praying for those that got cancer. But I'm gonna tell you, this message focuses on something today that the Lord has really laid upon my heart. He said, well, get it out. Well, I will in just a minute. But I'm thinking about maybe the last count of 2019, about 7.7 billion people in the world. And then about looking at about 24 to 27% of those 7.7 billion that still today don't know Jesus Christ. And out of all of this pandemic, one of the things that really just really deals with me. personally, is how many people have died that didn't know Jesus Christ? And I tell you, you say, Preacher, we've got a pandemic going. That's right. And I'll tell you, as my first Peter Backman study is, we've got an outstanding opportunity right now. Every one of us. And that prayer is, we need to pray for the ones that are laborers like yourself because we need more laborers to come in. We need to pray for laborers. We here at the church, I'm going to tell you, have always been doing that because that is what brought us into prayer 20-something years ago when we met on a Monday night was that subject. We were praying for laborers to help in our Sunday school classes. I'm gonna tell y'all, I'm talking to people here that know this, but we're here, we're different than other churches. You say, what's that mean? Everything here is paid for. We got Sunday school rooms that can be filled up. We got plenty of room in this church that if you could just come on in here and labor with us, amen. I'm gonna tell you, we have got everything that's been paid for and we say that because the ones before us have left us this legacy. Amen. They've left us this legacy. They've taken care of this church and we've got room for people to come in here and then labor with us. We need young teachers. We need a young youth group, amen. And so I thank God. Last Sunday, with Easter and all, Brother David, you knocked it out of the park. I don't know if you know it. Probably you like me, I don't really keep up with too many things. But we had over 200 people looking in on our sunrise service. That's not including sermon audio of where it went out. They come and say, I have us for international. They go everywhere. And so they don't tell us how many people tuned in, even though we didn't get the whole message. But we got a good bit of it. Somehow or another, when we go too far from the signal, Cut off on me. And I now realize that was a good message. And I want to give the flowers to you, brother. That was fantastic. We needed that. And so today, I want to remind you in this message, I want to preach to you about the weeping redeeming. Because there is no one still that has wept more for anyone than our Savior, Jesus Christ. Every one of us today, amen. And so I thank God as we look at Matthew chapter 9, verses 36 through 38. Now similar stories of this, or you'll find them in Mark chapter 6, verses 7 through 13. And Luke chapter 9 verses 1 through 6, but we're looking at this morning, Matthew chapter 9 verses 36 through 38 this morning. Now thank God as we begin to look at the passion, the compassion of Jesus this morning, but he was the weeping redeemer. And so I thank God. I'm going to talk about three things as you're turning over to Matthew chapter 9 at this point. I'm going to talk about the compassion of what Jesus saw. The compassion of what Jesus basically showed us. And I thank God of the compassion of what Jesus stated as he said these things. And so those three things, as we look at the weeping Redeemer this morning, boy, I think of how much that he cried when he looked around. And there have been other places that he did this, amen? But I thank God, I wanna thank all of those that were here for the, even though it was a celebration of life, what a service that it was. God just showed up here and it was awesome. I'll tell you, for a celebration of life, God just did some awesome things and reassured us through people that we didn't even know anything about them. God brought them in here and brought the testimony to reassure Thomas Boucher that he had been saved, that man. And so I thank God. God is amazing of what he does. And so here this morning as we look and realize, thinking about of all the people in the world and how many are lost, I'm going to try to estimate here a little bit later on what I think that maybe that 24 or 27% is that I read somewhere, a little bit about how many people back there are out there that still don't know Jesus Christ. And you see, we're the ones that can make that difference still today, because this is an opportune time. If you're able, as long as you stand with us, we honor the reading of the word of God. Matthew chapter 9, starting with verse 36. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted and were scattered abroad as sheep having no shepherd. Then said he unto his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Pray ye therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his heart. You may be seated. Father, thank you for this message that you have given us the focus upon war even during this time of where we're still just about coming through this pandemic. Many of us more are getting our freedom and we're stepping out and Lord, I know, Father, that we still try to be cautious and safe. And Lord, I ask you this morning that, Lord, that you'll remind every one of us of, Lord, the laborers, how few they are, and the harvest is plenty. Lord, I thank you for all this time that, Lord, you have brought people into all of our lives that are hurting. I've never experienced death on this number. as I have during these times. And so, Lord, I pray, God, that you will just kill our church and all of our loved ones and our families to realize that, Lord, what Christ is trying to remind us, even today, that the laborers are few and the harvest is plenty. Lord, that it is only us that you're depending on. The church, the believers, the born-again believers, Father, that are here this morning, Father, that are setting an example even today by being here. And Lord, I pray God for the many out there today, Lord, Father, that have still not been reached. Lord, I ask you this morning that you will revive us. Let it be us today, Father, that will, Lord, will stand in the gap And Lord, make up the difference today, Father. Lord, as you were a weakened redeemer, you wept for all the things that you saw, even for today in the future, that you knew everything that was coming to pass. Lord, I look around and I say, thank you, Father, for a mother that taught me and brought me to the house of God. Thank you for mothers and fathers, Lord. Thank you for family members that carried it up, Lord, to share the gospel with those no matter what. There's always somebody that don't want to hear it. Lord, it's unpopular in the world today, but Father, I want to thank you for these women that are like Christ, that they have a compassion for the lost, And Lord, they're gonna tell the story of Jesus no matter what. Father, we need this more now than we've ever needed. And Lord, I pray, Lord, as I challenge your body of Christ this morning, and as we challenge ourselves, Lord, I want you to begin to tell us from this story. And Lord, may it give us a greater heart's desire, Lord, to go out and to, Lord, to take and try to gather the harvest for our Lord and Savior, the many that need to be brought into the house of God. Thank you for people's value, Baptist Church. Thank you, Lord, for giving us a church, Lord, that we don't have all the meals like some of these others that have. Lord, Father, we got room here, Father, for plenty to come. And Lord, we need you to help us, Lord, as we pray to fill up the house of God. And Lord, to bring them in, Lord, for these last days, that we can make a difference, Lord. And bring them in before it's too late, before, Lord, they're gone from this once alive. And so thank you for the joy that you give every one of us. It is a joy to be able to get up and to tell people about your story, Jesus. Lord, put that joy in every heart this morning. those in Facebook, those in Sermon Audio, that they will be about the Father's business as well and tell the story of Jesus. Lord, because as we always say, Lord, Father, Lord, it is our lives that can tell the greatest message, Lord. Greater than anything else, Lord, it is our testimony that we can share, Lord, that tells the best story of all. Better than we could ever preach it. Lord, I thank you this morning, and Lord, I ask you to hide us behind the cross. and reach the unreachables this morning. In Jesus we pray, amen. You know, here as we look at our scripture, this was a very significant time because the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, up until this point, His disciples, they've just been listening. They've just been onlookers. But here was the time that he says, it's time to go out. It's time to take the message out to those that are out and around. You've been listening, you've been onlooking, you've been observing, but now you need to take the message out, amen. Here he prepared them for their ministry, amen. Boy, I thank God each and every one of us as we go forward and realize that our testimonies that we can share with others right now, amen. I remember in the book, The Challenge of Life, Aldo J. Smith, he began to write about his testimony that when he got saved, he said, man, when I got saved, I wanted to serve the Lord more than I ever have, amen. And I might not, I quote him, he began, started a Sunday school in his own home. And this is what he wrote, I quote him out of the book, The Challenge of Life. He said, so with the help of my mother, I started a Sunday school and invited the children from the surrounding farms. And they came Sunday after Sunday, and then he added in his book, I cannot understand a man professing to be saved not wanting to do something for the Lord Jesus, unquote. You know why I applaud that for? Because that puts me on the spot. That puts every one of us, here was just a young kid, but he later on reflected on that, that he loved the Lord so much, he says, I've got to do something for the Lord. And amen, every one of us, that's exactly how it is. Our Lord's call, I thank God, of involvement here of his disciples. He said, I want to get every one of you into service, because you've been listening, You've been looking, but now it's time to go to work, amen. Up until this time, before this, amen, in verse 35, we look back up and we begin to realize that here was one of the things, he says, but the Pharisee said he casted out devils through the prince of the devils, amen. But you know what? Even beyond that, we see the mission of Christ was to minister. He was menstruating to all those women they named. And so here we see a mission of Jesus Christ. It was showing compassion. He was showing compassion. Later on down in verses 37 and 38, he was sharing the vision of a world in a desperate need. They need people that are laborers. They need people that have the heart's desire and the love of the gospel to go out and to tell them about Jesus, amen. And so I thank God, here is what we see, amen. No one escaped the eye of the Lord in his heart, amen, as he looked. And I thank God he saw three things that were taking place. He saw the crowds that were fainting, amen. Life had weighed them down, amen. Life was cruel, the empowers empty or without a real purpose, amen. Religion, some of them had been weighed down with religion because it was a religion that had become a burden for them. and rituals, and so many, what was it, Bob, 613? Boy, that'll weigh you down right there, praise God. Sin weighed them down, amen. And so I think our Jesus saw the crowd. They were fainting, amen. Come unto me, all you that are labor and are heavy laden. He said, and I will give you rest, amen. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, praise God. He says, for I am meek and lowly at heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. And so all of a sudden, as they were fainting, he says they were scattered as well, amen. Not knowing which direction to go is what he was saying, amen. that satisfied them, but there was nothing. Hey, am I talking to you out there? You're trying to find something that will satisfy you, but nothing will satisfy you like Jesus this morning, amen. And so I thank God they were failing, they were scattered, amen. But of all the things, he said, it was a sheep without a shepherd, amen. They had no leader who had the courage to surrender to the truth. And to live by it during that time, amen. And so no one to teach the truth, amen. And so every teacher seemed to have, they were asked for the fleece on the sheep, amen. To secure their own position, amen. Build a following of their own ideas, amen, out there today. But we together are representing Jesus Christ, amen. We don't come together to represent our own ideas in people's value. They're everybody's ideas. We're here for Jesus, amen. We're the body of Christ and we work together as the body of Christ. Christ is the head of us, praise God. And so I thank God he said when he saw the multitudes that he was moved. with compassion, amen, on them. Well, I thank God, that weeping redeemer of all the things that he gave us, amen. Well, I thank God, here we begin to see that ministry before this that he was doing. It was the method of what he was practicing, praise God, amen. The place of his ministry. Jesus had literally went everywhere in all the city. I begin to look back, and as I look, I'm looking in scripture now, All of the cities and the villages that are saved in Matthew 9.35. In the countryside, it said Matthew 5. In the synagogues as well in Matthew 9.35. On the mountains in Matthew 8.23, amen. By the graveyards in Matthew 8.28. In the homes of Matthew 8.14 and Matthew 9.10, amen. There was no place that Jesus had not been in ministry. He went everywhere, praise God. And so we see the place of his ministry, his teaching, amen, that he preached, he proclaimed the good news, amen. I thank God. He taught that he was rooted and grounded, hallelujah. And so the message of everything, here we see a helplessness of the people themselves. And so Jesus saw how the people fainted. And how did they need it? They were ripped apart, praise God. He saw all the hopelessness of the people as well, amen. I remember reading a story about a submarine that sank and the entire crew was trapped in the prison house of that day. And the ships rushed over to the scene of that disaster, and all of a sudden, The little Morse code began to take off. And they heard the tapping noise, and someone was tapping out a question. And the dots and the dashes of that Morse code, amen, and the question came shortly, is there any hope? Is there any hope? Well, I thank God, listen. Here in this world, what can I do? Where can I go, amen? It's the cry of the world, I tell you, of Christ, amen. It is a world that is helpless in itself to change things, praise God. But I tell you, when Jesus saw that multitude this morning, church, amen, he saw more than a crowd, amen. Jesus looked into their hearts and he saw a multitude of beaten down, ripped apart. from the needs of their lives, and Jesus began to see those who without Him, amen, had no shepherd that could offer them anything, amen. And I tell you, that's the weeping redeemer that we're talking about this morning, amen. He sees it in America today, amen. Well, I thank God, the compassion of what Jesus saw in verse 36. And here we see the compassion of what Jesus showed as well, because it's been well said. That people will not care what you believe until they believe what you care. And every one of us, if we show that we care, that we care for those that are lost. Those ones, you know, I got to think of man. Jesus went around everybody. Jesus never turned nobody away either. Boy, I bet you some of them, they smoked. I bet you the poor areas he went into, they were in pitiful shape. Well, all of a sudden, here comes a heathen. Boy, he come and he provided what was lacking in their lives. It didn't matter. He never turned nobody away. Man, that's amazing. The compassion of the weeping redeemer this morning, amen. Boy, I tell you, every one of us, as we look and realize that Jesus saw and he was moved with compassion, amen. Of all the people that touched, he healed them. Unattractive, diseased, unsanitary, smelly, And yet still, I tell you, I tell you, I don't know about y'all. Y'all saw that fellow going down the road. He didn't know which way he was coming or going. I don't know why. Boy, I tell you, he was in bad shape. We were going past him. I said, leave him. Go way over, please. He like to come out. He was in such a bad shape, he might step out in the road. Boy, I tell you, every one of us today, the ministry that Jesus, he touched every single person today, man. And today, he's looking for us to do the same, man. Of course, now we got needs. Did you hear what I said earlier? My brother David was speaking to 200 people right off the bat that was reached. You say, man, I don't see 200 people here. Not only me, but he reached 200 people, praise God. I thank God every one of us that God can do something like that. Amen, get on. Somehow or another, we need to get more and more involved and use what we got for more of us, amen. I thank God, you know what? You say, hey, everybody that's doing something, keep doing it. Don't pull this one off that's already working, doing something, do something else. If you're working, keep doing that work. But we need more to continue to go forward. We need to continue to have those laborers amen. We need to pray God, send those laborers. But what we remember in Luke 19, 41, Luke 19, 41, I believe, that Jesus looked out over the sea and went over. He wept over them. I have no doubt that our Lord wept as he saw that multitude, amen. I can see him with the tears in his eyes and his heart hurting for every one of those that he saw, amen, because he was deeply moved. And I thank God as he demonstrated this and everything that he did, amen, the compassion of what Jesus saw and the compassion of what Jesus showed. But last three closing verses 37 and 38, we see the compassion of what our Lord stated from all of this. that he saw. And I thank God that everything that he showed us, praise God. Here was a mission that he says, I want to show the vision of a world that is in desperate need out there today. He said, man, I'm in desperate need right here. Hey, I know what you mean. All I can do right now is to do what I'm doing. Amen. And that's all of it. You know what? The Lord doesn't want any more than what you can do. That's all that we got to do. Do what you can do. That's it. The Lord's satisfied with that. He don't want you to go beyond the Lord, because he'll give you what you can do. He'll give you the ability to do what you need to do. But we read, and he said, then said, he unto his disciples, the harvest true is plenty's, but the labors are few. Pray ye therefore. Pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he'll send forth laborers into his harvest. Boy, I tell you, we're gonna have to start doing that again, amen. I thank God. We've been doing it, but I thank God that in order to be one of the highlights in our corporate prayer, amen. Jesus spoke to his disciples about two things, amen. He spoke to them about the largeness of the harvest, amen. I thank God out here, the harvest has been encased. Jeremiah 820 referred to it. John 435 talks about the harvest is ripe. And so I thank God. Here in Matthew 937 he speaks of it being plenteous. He says it's plenty to save, man. And so I thank God, it's large, it's great, amen. The need for us, that is truly plenty to save, man. And so I thank God, November of 2019, I didn't look recently, but I know it's more than this, 7.7 billion. That 27.27% of the world's population that probably don't have the good news presented to them. Boy, I'm gonna try to think, I don't know, 2 billion. Man, 2 billion people that steal, wow, man. I don't know if that's accurate, but I'm throwing that out there from what I can just estimate on. That's a lot of people, 2 billion. My goodness, it may be more than that. But I'm gonna tell you, it translates of all these individuals, one in. Every four individuals without the knowledge of the redeeming. And he's been weeping ever since. He's weeping for us. And so I thank God, the largeness, the leanness of these workers, amen, that it's truly plain, amen. But he declared, the laborers are few. And so I thank God over 1 billion people have died and have never heard of Jesus. Now think about 30 million people this year that's gonna perish without hearing the message. I'm guessing again, but I put some numbers in your head, okay? Because some of your numbers, 30 million have died. I don't know how many has died with all the pandemic and plus the natural causes of death because of what things have transpired. But the field is not only large around the world. but the field is large around people's bowels, right here. Amen, right here at home, right here. And so I thank God. Many of us, as we're Christians, amen, it ought to be our number one thing. God, every day, open the door up for me. See, this is the thing I do. Boy, you're talking about opening it up. Man, I'm going to tell you, I get a couple of doors. And when I do, I'm going to go in too, because the Lord opened that door up. Lord, open the door for me today. Lord, make a way for me to share your gospel with somebody. I thank God how deeply the Lord was moved, the weeping, The weak can be redeemed. I tell you, the vision that he shared with everyone of us, amen. And so all of these that we look at, I thank God, the labors are few. As I get ready to close out this morning, Christ gives us the charge to his disciples, to his ministers, as this opens up, amen. Take the lead, teach those ones. Pray for the laborers, amen. And so I thank God as I batted right at my time about right before 10 till, 11 till, amen, amen. Every one of us, three things that order drive every one of us for laborers with every bit to pray as I challenge you as I close out. The good news of the gospel, the kingdom of God itself, amen. That ought to be one of the things. Lord, there's somebody that don't know about Jesus. They don't know about you. The compassion that we ought to have, secondly, for all those souls. that are scattered, that are without a shepherd, they don't even know Jesus Christ. And thirdly, the love for Christ and the appreciation that he's done for me. Lord, where do you want me at? What do you want me to do? We're afraid to pray that sometimes. What do you want me to do? Because it's always We focus on the things of ourselves a lot. Man, I'm hurting right now. But if I was doing something for the Lord, I wouldn't be hurting as bad. I'm saying, oh man, I know, I know, I know. I barely got myself. But if we focused on what the Lord wants us to focus on, to meet those needs, because the vision, the great force of laborers that is needed for every one of us. I thank God. Send the Lord of the harvest there, man. Send a revival. I thank God. When we hear the weeping of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we see the pain being felt, and we hear his plea, how can we not respond? Will we pray? Father, thank you for the message this morning. And Lord, even though this ain't a message how to solve anything, how to be a better Christian, how to be more dedicated, Lord, that this is a great message that is needed today. That we have a harvest that is ready to be reaped, and we don't have enough laborers to reap it. Father, help us today. Lord, this message, I know you gave it to us. Lord, I pray may it come home to all of us, those in Facebook, those in Sermon Audio that are out there, even those ones that go to other churches that might be listening to us. Lord, that they need to be about the Father's business. May we all be serious and may we bring those laborers in. May we pray that God will bring them in. And Lord, this is a great opportunity for us to bring them into the house of God and Jesus.
