Coming from Arab, Alabama, and growing up in Tampa, Fla. I moved with my family to Georgia in 1969. I was saved by God’s marvelous Grace in September 1972 at Blue Springs Baptist Church located down the road from North Cobb High School in Acworth, Ga. Called to preach at 16 years old 1980 and licensed at Rope Mill Baptist Church in Wood Stock, Ga. Youth minister at Rope Mill Baptist Church from1980 to 1982. Enlisted in the United States Army in 1982 after graduating from Cass High School in Cartersville, Ga. Attended Central Texas College for my academic classes while in the military. I was Honorable discharged in 1986 and began my work career with Atlantic Steel in Atlanta, Georgia for 8 ½ years before it shut down to move to all melting operations to Cartersville. I Attended seminary with Lee University and Georgia Baptist Association. I dated my Lovely Hawaiian wife Lita for a year and proposed in marriage to her on October 1st, 1988 and we were married December 22, 1989. I had a radio program on WYXL 1270 am with Rev. David Bennett for 3 years called the “The Bread of Life Broadcast.” I preached at the High Rise Apartments in Marietta, Ga. with the Rev. Don Clayton and Rev. Keith Allen on Sunday afternoons. While working at Atlantic Steel in Atlanta I helped teach Young a married Sunday School class with the Pastor and wed night children ministry with My wife Lita at Oakland Heights Baptist Church , Cartersville, Ga. from 1990 to 2001. I was interim for almost a year at PVBC. I was on a Mission trip with the Hands and Feet ministry in 2000. We were building the foundation for churches in Mexico and using teenagers out of school for the summer. I was approached by the pulpit committee from Peeples Valley Baptist Church and voted in as pastor January 13, 2002. Peeples Valley Baptist, is one of thirty-nine Southern Baptist churches in Northwest Georgia voluntarily working together to reach the Bartow County area for the Kingdom of Christ, (www.bartowbaptist.org). The fact that Jesus died for our sin, was buried, and then rose from the grave is foundational for Southern Baptists. He lives today and stands ready to give abundant and eternal life to all those who repent of sin and place their faith in Him.
