Pastor Darrell Bailey

Raised in Tampa, Florida, and originally from Arab, Alabama, I moved with my family to Georgia in 1969. By God’s marvelous grace, I was saved in September 1972 at Blue Springs Baptist Church in Acworth, Georgia.I sensed God’s call to the gospel ministry at the age of sixteen in 1980 and was licensed to preach at Rope Mill Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia. I later served as Youth Minister at Rope Mill Baptist Church from 1980 to 1982.After graduating from Cass High School in Cartersville, Georgia, I enlisted in the United States Army in 1982. During my military service, I attended Central Texas College for academic studies. I was honorably discharged in 1986 and subsequently worked in the steel industry with Atlantic Steel in Atlanta, Georgia, for eight and a half years.Throughout this period, I continued ministerial preparation through studies with Lee University and the Georgia Baptist Association, while remaining actively involved in local church ministry. From 1990 to 2001, my wife and I served at Oakland Heights Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia, teaching a young married Sunday School class and assisting in Wednesday evening children’s ministry.I am married to my wife, Lita, whom I married on December 22, 1989. We have faithfully served together in various ministry roles for more than three decades.I also participated in local and media outreach, including co-hosting a radio ministry titled “The Bread of Life Broadcast” on WYXL 1270 AM with Rev. David Bennett for three years. Additional outreach included preaching at high-rise apartment ministries in Marietta, Georgia, alongside Rev. Don Clayton and Rev. Keith Allen. In 2000, I served on a mission trip with the Hands and Feet Ministry, assisting in the construction of church foundations in Mexico while mentoring teenagers during their summer outreach. After serving nearly one year as interim pastor at Peeples Valley Baptist Church, I was called and voted as pastor on January 13, 2002. Peeples Valley Baptist Church is one of thirty-nine cooperating Southern Baptist churches in Northwest Georgia, working together through the Bartow Baptist Association to reach Bartow County for Christ. In October 2025, I was called to serve as Pastor of Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church in Taylorsville, Georgia, where I currently serve. My ministry is firmly grounded in the historic and biblical convictions of Southern Baptists—that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again, and that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. He lives today and offers abundant and eternal life to all who repent of sin and place their faith in Him.
