David Hina has served as Pastor of Providence Presbyterian Church in Murphy since October, 2015. David is a native of Brevard, NC. He received his Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, TX. He also holds an M.S. in Software Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, and a B.A. from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. David is married to Amy, who is originally from Illinois. The Hina’s have three children: Kali, Mei Mei, and Caleb. David served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Flight Officer for 5 years, and then as a Project Manager and software engineer at SPAWAR Systems Center in San Diego for 14 years before being called into full-time ministry. Prior to coming to Providence, David served as a Pastoral Intern at Town North Presbyterian Church in Richardson, TX, and he has taught in several different capacities and served in other roles within the church over the past 17 years.
