This life is a pilgrimage from captivity to sin. But for those redeemed by Christ, it is a journey marked by constant gratitude to God, for although until we reach heaven we tread through a fallen world and all of its dangers, the Lord delivers us from all these distresses when we cry out to Him in faith. Whether trouble is self-inflicted due to our own sin and foolishness, or a result of events out of our control due to living in a world under the curse of God, in Christ our journey will ultimately lead us to the New Heavens and New Earth, where we will enjoy life-communion forever with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and all the redeemed, free from all the negative consequences of the Fall into sin.
