Frederick Serjeant

Pastor Frederick Serjeant was ordained in Church of England ministry as priest in 1955.  At that time he was an Anglo-Catholic serving as a Curate in one of the leading Anglo-Catholic parishes in England. He then became the Vicar of a Parish in Reigate, Surrey. At that time he renounced Anglo-Catholicism for Evangelical faith and practice. In 1965 he became Vicar of a south London ‘tough back-street’ Parish.  In 1973 he became Rector of  Mersea Island, Essex.  He seceded from the C of E in 1975 having been convinced of the ‘Doctrines of Grace’  and served in church planting and renewing evangelical causes until the present day, when he continues to pastor a church-plant - Grace Baptist Church, Dorchester.
