J.R. Dickens

J.R. is an author, teacher, professor, speaker, and lay preacher in the Presbyterian church.

He has published several books that are available on Amazon. He considers his “Theses for Recovering Eccelsiastical Authority” (2021) to be his most important work to date.

His experience teaching Sunday school goes back more than 25 years and includes topics like Genesis, Creation, Apologetics, Systematic Theology, and the Westminster Confession of Faith.

He taught The Apologetics of Francis Schaeffer as a visiting professor at New Geneva Theological Seminary in Colorado Springs, where he also served two years as Librarian over a collection of more than 25,000 published volumes.

He has presented conferences, most recently "Doctrines in Genesis" and "The Word of God in a World Gone Mad"—both of which have been published in book form.

As part of the ministry of New Geneva Seminary, he served as a lay preacher to Winslow Court Senior Living in Colorado Springs and published these sermons in a book called "The Music of the Gospel" (2024).

His academic training includes degrees in mechanical engineering (B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.) and certifications in Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma.

His professional background includes more than fifteen years in process improvement and organizational dynamics.

His volunteer work includes more than six years with SCORE (a nonprofit for small business development), four years leading a pro-life organization in East Texas (Lufkin for Life), and four years as treasurer of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lufkin, Texas.

His personal interests include aviation where he holds a Commercial certificate, Instrument rating, and Instructor rating. He is an aircraft owner and enjoys the outdoors, with a special fondness for the Rocky Mountains.
