Rev Heero Hacquebord

Heero Hacquebord was born in 1971 in the Republic of South Africa, where he spent his first fifteen years enjoying the sunshine and learning about his Savior. His parents had been nominal Christians until they truly came to faith when he was three years old, while he trusted Christ as his own Savior when he was in the first grade. In 1986 his family moved to the US, settling in Madison, WI, where he finished High School. At Calvin College he studied European History, and received an M-Div from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (in 1996). During Seminary -- and afterwards -- he continued his education with a very enjoyable and deeply rewarding internship under the Rev. Lendall Smith at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Wheaton, IL. While in seminary God first brought Heero to seriously consider working as a missionary, and after participating in the 2-month "Odessa Project" in 1996, he sensed God's leading him to go to Ukraine with Mission to the World (and as an affiliated missionary of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church where he was ordained in the Presbytery of the Midwest For four years he worked as a young church planter in the southern city of Nikolaev where he helped to establish the Nikolaev Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
