Flock & Banquet

The church is like a flock of sheep in that we need human leaders to feed us the Word, protect us from wolves, lead us, and care for our souls. The church is like Israel in that we are to accomplish God’s will in this world and be the avenue for salvation. We are the pillar and foundation of the truth in that we establish a beachhead for God’s truth in this world and make sure it has a significant presence. We are yeast and a mustard tree in that we will be more and more pervasive and expansive. As the face of Christ to the world we represent Him, and as priests we seek to offer the souls of people to God as sacrifices (both halves of the Great Commission). We are servants in the banquet in that it is our job to compel them to come in, and we are the banquet as well.
