Renovation & Restoration

Most Father's Days I like to speak about a Godly man in the Bible and the man I want to look at today is Nehemiah.

Nehemiah was a cupbearer who became a Master Renovator in the City of Jerusalem renovating the broken-down walls.

In Nehemiah Chapter 1 we find that God's people are in difficult circumstances and there is a need for a Renovation Rescue.

The city of Jerusalem looked very tired in fact it was in a mess, the walls were broken down, the gates were burned with fire and the city streets were strewn with rubble.

God calls Nehemiah to rebuild the walls.... He is the man that God uses to lead God's people in the reconstruction of the walls of Jerusalem in just 52 days.

In Nehemiah chapter 1 Nehemiah gets a call from God to go down to Jerusalem to repair the broken walls of Jerusalem. Nehemiah is in the palace at Shushan. Shushan is in what is today western Iran.

We live in a broken world. Right throughout the world God looks down and He sees broken Nations and broken cities and in those broken cities God sees broken lives.

The entrances of our cities are wide open to the enemy as nations have moved away from God and His Word. Moral and Spiritual walls of the past have broken down.

The need of the hour are men and women who like Nehemiah are concerned for the Glory of God and the good of others.

Not only are our cities broken down but in many cases our churches are broken.

Many Churches in Australia are like the Temple in Jerusalem, surrounded by the remnants of a once strong fortress, desperately needing the intervention of God, for protection and revival and restoration.

The need of the hour are men and women who see and hear God's call!
