Saved to the Uttermost

There is a wealth of theology packed into these two verses. Major elements in the Biblical doctrine of salvation—election, calling, faith, sanctification and glorification—are presented in their mutual relations. Notice the harmonious working of all three persons of the Trinity: God the Father, choosing and calling; God the Son, accomplishing the good news of the gospel and sharing his glory with his people; and God the Holy Spirit, imparting his sanctifying grace (1 Peter 1:2).
