Welcome to another message. We're
studying the book of Exodus. Bible readings by Dr. Jim. And
this is lesson number 151. It's hard to believe that just
this last fall I started this. And we've read at least half
of the Bible, if not more. Now let's go here in 6 and verse
11. That's where we're going to start. Moses is going to go
before Pharaoh again. The book of Jasher said it was
a year or two years between the first time he went before Pharaoh
and asked him to let his children go. But we don't know exactly
how long it was. It could have been a month or
two or three, four months or whatever. But let's start off
here now. And I'll be reading from the
Hebrew. Bible and sometimes I'll read the Hebrew just so you can
hear what it sounds like and a lot of times I'll just translate
it and tell you a little bit about the the tenses and modes
in Hebrew because Hebrew is a dynamic language. It is a language with
a lot of force. That's what it sounds like in
Hebrew. Go. That's imperative there. That's
a command. Go and speak. Speak, and that word forcibly,
unto Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, that he may send away, shoot
away for himself. Now, this is in the PL statement
of Joseph. And the Joseph mode is voluntary. He will do this. He's going to
do this. He's going to send away Israel
by force. He's going to run them off. He's
going to want to get rid of them when everything goes sour for
so long. The sons of Israel from the land
of Mitzrayim, Redmud, and Kenelbanks. 6 and 12, and he spoke again in
the PL stem, Moses, before the face of Jehovah, saying, Behold,
the sons of Israel, not, they have listened unto me, and how,
or why, and how shall they listen to me now? Keep on listening
to me now. Pharaoh, and I, uncircumcised
of lips. Uncircumcised of lips. In other
words, sinful lips. A man of sinful, a sinful man.
When we come to God in prayer, we sometimes remember our sins
in our life. And we beg God's forgiveness.
And Peter says, Lord, I am a sinful man. Moses said, Lord, I am a
sinful man with sinful lips. When we come to God, we need
to recognize His holiness and our unrighteousness, our unholiness. But Jesus Christ, by His blood,
makes us holy inside of God. Verse number 13, And he spoke
Jehovah unto Moses. and unto Aaron. Now he's speaking
to both of them now. And he commanded them about or
unto the sons of Israel and about Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, to
bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt. Now here we're going to go real
soon into a contest of the gods. the God of heaven against all
the gods of Egypt. Jehovah was outnumbered, but
he wasn't outclassed, I can assure you that, because those gods
of Egypt were not gods at all. And then we go into verse number
14, and we start naming the heads of the families of Israel. Elie, Rache, Beth, Avotam, Bene. It says, and these are the heads,
Rosh there, 911, 912, the heads of the houses of their fathers,
the sons of Reuben, remember Reuben means see a son, the firstborn
of Israel, and Enoch, Enoch, and Palu, Hezron, and Carmi,
and these are the families of Reuben. These are the families
of Reuben. Enoch, teacher. Pallar, distinguished. And Hezron, that means a courtyard. And Carmi is a gardener. These
are the families of Reuben. Reuben means see a son, remember.
As we go down and look at these names, Livneh. And these are the sons
of Simeon. Simeon means one who hears, remember? Simeon and Simon in the New Testament
means one who hears. And Jemuel. Jemuel means the
day of God. And Jamin, right hand. That's
like Benjamin. Jamin means right hand. Wiyamin. And Ohad. Ohad means unity, one,
oneness. And Jokin, he will be established. And Zohar means whiteness. And
Sha'ul means ask about. Again, the name Saul and Sha'ul
are the same name. And the son of the Canaanites.
And the Canaanites means possession. And these are the families of
Simeon. Now we come to Levi's family.
By the way, in these names are the Levi, the sons of Levi to
the generation of Gershon. Levi means joined or attached
and Gershon means refugee and Kohath means allied. And merari
means bitter. The feminine for merari is merry. And years, the life of Levi,
7 and 30 and 100, 137 years. Levi lived to be 137 years. Levi
did. And God continues to train Moses all of this time. He's training
Moses to listen to him, and training Moses how to deal with his people,
God's people. B'nai g'rishon, libnei, wi'shami,
l'mish, pi'chatan. And these are the sons of Gershon.
Libnei means white, like of words like Laban again
and Shimei means famous, renowned, by their families, Mishpatah.
Mishpatah literally goes back to the word sperm or seed. This is the seed of this family,
the sperm of this family, the progenitor of this family. And
sons of Kohath, Kohath means ally. Amram. Amram is high people. And Izhar. Izhar means anointing. And Hebron. Hebron means association. And
Uziel means the strength of God. And years of the life of Kohath
three and thirty, a hundred, a hundred and thirty-three years.
Kohath lived a hundred and thirty-three years. These people were still
living pretty long lives at this time. Yubinay Merari, in other
words, and sons of Merari, remember Merari means bitter, and Mali,
Mali means sick, and Mushai means sensitive. And these are the families of
the Levites in their family histories or in their generations. And he took Amram, Jochebed,
Jochebed. Now, Jochebed is 128 years old
when he marries her. And she is his aunt, is his father's
sister, Amram. And Jochebed means Jehovah glorifies
or gloried. His aunt, his father's sister,
to him for a wife. And she bore to him Aaron. Aaron means light. The Greek word for that is phos.
And Moses. Moses means to rescue or draw
out. And the years of the life of Amram. Seven and thirty and
a hundred. A hundred and thirty-seven years. And the sons of Ezar. Ezar, remember
that means anointing. Korah. Korah means to make bold. Maybe he had chemotherapy or
radiation back then, like they worked on me with. Cora. And Nefeg. Nefeg means to sprout. It's a
sprout forth. And Zikri. Zikri means memorable, famous,
memorable. And the sons of Uzziel, Uzziel
means strength of God, remember. Mishael, and who is, it means
who is or what is God, or what is God like. And Elazapham, Elazapham
means God of treasure. And Zithri, and it's, It means protective. Protective. 6 and verse 23. And he took Aaron,
Elishima. Elishima means the god of the
oath. The daughter of Abinadab. And
Abinadab means people of liberality. And the sister of Nashon. Nashon means enchanter. Someone
that enchants or makes spells. And to him, for a wife. And she
bore to him Nadab, means liberal. And Abihu. And Abihu means worshiper
of God. And Eliezer. Eliezer means God
is helper. And in the New Testament, Lazarus. Lazarus means helpless. Helpless. Eliezer is a longer
form of that and it means God helps. But Lazarus means helpless.
And Ithmar. Ithmar means palm tree or the
coast of the palm tree. 624. the family of Korah now, Yuvaneh
Korah Asir we Elkanah. And the sons of Korah, Asir. Asir means prisoner. And Elkanah,
God has obtained, that's what Elkanah means, God has obtained.
And Abiasoph, that means to gather, one who gathers. And these are
the families of descendants, Mishpatah, the sperm, literally,
of the Qohorites. Qohorites means to make balls. 625, we Eliezer ben Aharon l'qa'lo
mebenoth. And Eliezer, the son of Aaron,
He took to him from a daughter of Petuel. Petuel is an unusual
word. It means contempt of God. Contempt of God. And to him,
or a wife, and she bore to him Phineas. Phineas means mouth
of the serpent. It comes, it's got a pay in there. Phineas means mouth of the serpent.
And these are the heads of the fathers of the Levites, by their
le-mish-pa-tha-tom, that means by their sperm literally, by
their seed, by their clan, by their tribe. 626. And then he,
Aaron, and Moses, whom He had said, Jehovah, to them, bring
out the sons of Israel. You bring them out. That's imperative
there. Hatsin. Bring them out, the sons
of Israel from the land of Egypt, according to their armies, according
to their hosts, according to their families. That word, Tezivotam, word armies
there it means host it also we get the word Savioth from it.
Jehovah Savioth comes from that word there. And these the one speaking unto
Pharaoh the king of Egypt to bring out the sons of Israel
from Egypt that Moses and Aaron And it became in the day that
he had spoken Jehovah unto Moses in the land of Egypt. Verse 29. And he spoke and kept on speaking
Jehovah unto Moses saying, and this is where he kept on speaking,
that's imperfect, and then we're saying there, it's infinitive,
it means to say, I Jehovah speak unto Pharaoh. King of Mithraim,
of Egypt, and all which I am about to speak unto you. You
tell them what I'm about to say unto you. וַיֹּוֹמָר מֹשֶׁה לְפְנֵי
הָדָּוֹר הֶנָּה אָנִי אֲרָאֹל שֶׁפָּתֶּיִם וִיֵּק יִשְׁמָח אִלֵי פָּרוֹ That again is what it says in
the Hebrew language. And he said and kept on saying
Moses before the face of Jehovah. Behold, I am uncircumcised. It means literally uncircumcised
means pointed. Uncircumcised lips and how can
they keep on listening unto me Pharaoh? How are they going to
keep on listening to me Pharaoh? And he said Jehovah unto Moses.
See, roah, roah is a word, it's masculine, senior, cal, imperative.
Look and see, open your eyes. I have made God to Pharaoh. I have set you to be a God to
Pharaoh and to Aaron and your brother. He shall keep on becoming
your prophet. You're gonna be a God, what you
say and you speak, you're gonna stand back with great authority
like me, and you'll speak unto Aaron, and he will speak unto
Pharaoh. You will be a God unto Pharaoh, and you'll be a God
unto Abraham, or not Abraham, but Aaron, and you'll be God,
be like a God unto Pharaoh. Atah tidavar eth kal asher. Aso wikah. Wihaharon ahikah. yee davar el faro wee shalach
eth b'nai yisrael niartzo. And you, you shall keep on speaking
everything that I say, all the things which I have commanded
you. First person construct singular pl imperfect, which I have kept
on commanding you. And Aaron your brother, and he
shall keep on speaking unto Pharaoh. And he shall send away the sons
of Israel from his land. Now they're going to be awfully
short-sighted because Pharaoh's not going to do this incessantly,
but God is going to make Pharaoh so uncomfortable that he wants
to run them off and everybody in Egypt is going to give them
presents to leave. Going to pay them to leave. 7
and verse 3. We are nee agsheh et lev phadro. v'hererte et otelei v'et mofetei
be'eretz mitraim. Now in the book of Revelation
it repeats all the signs that God did in Egypt at one time. Thousands of years apart now.
And I, I shall harden I shall keep on hardening the heart of
Pharaoh, and I shall multiply my signs, my miracles, my wonders,
and my mufti, and my miracles in the
land of Egypt. Verse number four, and knock shall listen unto you,
Pharaoh. And I shall place and I shall
lay my hand upon Egypt. And I shall bring about my armies
and my people, the sons of Israel, from the land of Egypt." God,
I'm going to lay a hand on them. I'm going to put a mighty, heavy
hand on Egypt. I'm going to curse Egypt. And
judgment's great. Bishvatim Gedalim, in judgments
great. And they shall know, the Egyptians,
that I am Jehovah, when I shall have stretched out my hand upon
the Egyptians, and bring out the sons of Israel from in the
middle of them, One more verse now in this message. And he did and performed Moses
an errand just as he had commanded Jehovah unto them in this way. And they did, they performed They worked miracles. Miracles. You know what? Every
time God saves a person, it's a miracle, isn't it? Every time
God saves a person, especially in the world that we live in
today. Look at America today as a godless nation. A godless
nation. By majority now, Many people
in America, and they want to fight against God. They want
to make right wrong and wrong right. And yet God is back there. God will bring in finality, finesse. God will bring forth His judgments
upon this nation also. The only bad thing about that
is there's a lot of believing people, many believing people
in this country that are suffering in the meanwhile. As Israel suffered in the land
of Egypt, so we suffered in this world. This world is not our
home. We try to make it our home sometimes.
We really might try to make ourselves comfortable. We have to try to
find a good car that we can drive that's comfortable to drive.
We try to live in a good home and everything. But this is not
our home. We are pilgrims. We are just
pilgrims, sojourners in this world today. For a while, for
a time, the Lord said so many times,
build up your treasures in heaven where neither a raw moth nor
rust can destroy. Our Father, we send forth this
message for your honor and for your glory. Please use it for
in the world wherever you can, wherever it goes, to glorify
yourself and your word. And father, please forgive me
where I fail you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
