Blessing The Children

While the Pharisees could not see past their own hatred of God's Son, some parents have a different perspective. Whether or not they see Him as Messiah, they at least see His miracles and hear His teaching. As a result, they have a desire to have His blessing and prayers upon their children. While this passage is not a proof-text for infant salvation or infant baptism, it does show the compassion of Christ toward these infants. It is certainly the duty of all parents to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, being hopeful that God will see fit to save their children. Let the church also rejoice that we have part in teaching the gospel to a younger generation.
