My Father's Business

Shown here in the first chapter of Mark, Jesus goes to work. He only had one purpose, and that was to do his Father's work. He shows us that he is serving God by healing those with infermities.
In verse 21, Jesus is teaching in the Synagogue on the Sabbath. He impressed those who were there with His authority in teaching. He taught as one without sin. He preached the gospel.
Starting in verse 23, a demon possessed man interrupts him. This demon knows Jesus and Jesus rebuked him, telling him to be silent and to come out of the man Jesus can release those who are his from oppression and bondage.
Jesus can heal brokenness. Starting in vs 29, Jesus heals Simon's mother in law, who then begins to serve. Jesus starts a time of healing for the community. He cast out many demons, preventing them from speaking.
