Hey, good morning, everyone. Welcome to another morning devotion
with Brother Mark, where we are walking together on our walk
with Christ. Today is September the 17th, 2024. Well, today,
you know, It's such a blessing, I'm gonna
talk to you about, it's such a blessing when someone knows
God and knows His word. Today I was visiting someone
in a hospital and they had a malignancy in their pelvis, they had a broken
pelvis and they were laying flat on their back and just talking
to them and they said, you know, the one thing that is good, is
what we know the promise of God is. It's Hebrews 13, 5. Let your
conversation be without covetousness and be with contentment with
such things as you have. For he saith, I will never leave
thee, nor forsake thee. And so this person who is laying
in the bed in difficult situations and just kind of waiting on the
doctor says, you know, one thing I know is that the Lord will
never leave me. And you know, it's not often
when you go to the hospital and you're talking to someone that's
in a difficult situation where they begin talking to you about
the sovereignty of God and the providence of God, where they
understand that God's hand is with them in their circumstances. And, um, they know that they're
there because God has chosen for them to be there. And so,
you know, it's always a blessing when you can talk to someone
like that who understands the hand of God is with them, who
understands it's within God's power to heal them. But also
they understand that God is going to be with them no matter where
this pathway takes them. So it's always a blessing when
you can share with someone about their situation. And then the
other thing I told them, I was like, because you know that about
your circumstances, the providence of God, that God is in control
of all of his creation, then you know that God chose these
circumstances for you from before the foundation of the world.
And he has chosen that person to be in those circumstances. because he knows the strength
that they have, and he knows that he's gonna be with them,
and that's where a scripture like, that will keep them in
perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee. Even though you're
facing difficult circumstances, you know the providence of God
is in control of them, and God is sovereign over the whole situation,
and you can keep your mind stayed on God, and you can have perfect
peace. Now, there's not many people
who face life that way. Most people are full of anxiety and fear as they
think about the circumstances of life, but this person was
confident in the Lord. They were so confident that after
I had a word of prayer with them before I left, they said, hey,
preacher, come back here. And they said, I want to have
a word of prayer for you. And so not only did I get to
pray and minister to that saint, but that saint ministered to
me. before I left the room, and what a blessing it was to hear
someone who was in difficult circumstances, to lift my name
up before the Lord and to pray for me, and it was truly a blessing.
So, you know, there's something about knowing the Lord, and knowing
His word, and knowing the truth of His word, and knowing the
reality of your situation, and knowing what God is doing in
it. So today, just remember, the Lord will never leave His
own. Remember that His sovereignty is, He's powerful over, all-powerful
over all the circumstances of life, and His providence is at
work in every circumstance of life. We're gonna be thankful
for that today, and I just wanna encourage you that no matter
where you're at, no matter what you're facing, the Lord's never
gonna leave you, and His providence is at work in your life. Now,
these promises are to those that are His. So if you've trusted
Christ, know that you're His child, and know that His hand
is at work in your life. He'll never leave you nor forsake
thee, but His grace is sufficient for you. So you can be encouraged
today that God's grace is sufficient to lead you through the circumstances
that you're facing today. Heavenly Father, we just thank
you for the glorious truths we find in your word, and we pray,
Lord, that you will bless your people today. Just help us to
know your word and to be fully confident in what your word teaches
us. Encourage your people today, we pray. In the name of Jesus,
we pray. Amen. We'll be encouraged today.
Until the next time, Brother Mark signing off.
