Living for the Pleasure of God

Is it selfish to serve God for reward? Shouldn't we simply serve him out of love alone, which expecting anything in return? In Matthew 6 Jesus shows us that if we are not motivated by reward, it is a failure to love God and will result in hypocrisy.
