The Covenant of God - Lesson 7 - The Covenant with David - 2 Samuel 7:8-16. God made a covenant with David to establish his throne forever. This covenant demonstrates God's sovereignty and grace and requires faith and obedience from David and his heirs. If they sin, God will judge them, but He will uphold the kingdom. The promise is to him and his seed. David's ultimate heir is the promised Messiah, the Lord Jesus.
