Five Imperatives

Paul, in this letter, has both called the Corinthians to walk in righteousness and rebuked them for violating Christ's truth. Now, after all that he has said, there are five key principles in his mind that he wants the them to focus upon. All believers are called to understand and actively pursue these five imperatives, namely, to rejoice, become perfect, be admonished, be of one mind and live in peace. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord is expected to actively pursue these things. The great motivation for living in this way is knowing that the God of love and peace is certainly with His children.
