Proverbs chapter 22 with me,
please. Proverbs 22. We're going to stick
in Proverbs a little bit, a very short little time. Proverbs 22,
let me know when you're there by saying Amen, please. There's one. Here we go. Proverbs 22, look in verse 9
with me, shall we? It says, he that has a bountiful
eye shall be what? See, there's a law. When you
read certain things in the Bible, there's a law of God. You know
what a law is? A law is gravity. That's a law.
What comes up must come down. You cannot defy gravity. It's
a law that God has put in place. Do you understand that? Well,
God has given us some spiritual laws that he has put in place
and they can't be broken because they're the laws of God. One
of them is giving. Look what it says. He that has
a bountiful eye shall be blessed, for he giveth of his bread to
the poor. Now I could go on and on and
on and spend two months on how much the Bible talks about giving,
Tony. It talks so much. Look over with Proverbs 24 with
me, which has been one of our One of our text verses since
we started, I want this to sink in, to listen to it and learn
it. Proverbs 24 starting in verse
8, it says, He that devises to do evil shall be called a mischievous
person. Now think about that because
normally you just read over it. He that devises, that means he's
thinking in his head. He's already thinking in his
head that he's going to do evil. Now, let's get a little deeper
spiritually. He's not talking about, I'm gonna
go out and I'm gonna steal little kid's lunch money. I'm gonna
go out and I'm gonna trip a blind person. He's not talking about
that. He's talking about evil means not good. Do you understand?
So he that devises in his heart, now look what God says right
after that. He says in verse nine, the thought,
of foolishness is sin. So he goes from devising to do
evil and thinking about it. And he says that thought that
you're thinking about is foolishness and it's sin. And it says in
the scorner is an abomination. A scorner is someone that hears
the word of God and doesn't really think it's real. That's a scorner. A scorner is someone, hey, Jesus
Christ is God. I don't think so. That's a scorner.
The Holy Spirit of God, you need the Holy Spirit to be saved.
I don't think so. That's a scorner. By grace are you saved through
faith. Now you've got to do works. That's a scorner. And one of
the things we're talking about is winning souls. And people
that think they don't need to win souls, it says they're devising
to do evil. I'm not, you're planning, I am
not gonna hand out a gospel tract. I will not go and knock on someone's
door. I will not go and give something, you know what I mean?
Like you're devising already, you're not going to do it. And
then it says that thought is foolishness and is sin, and you're
being a scorner to what God has already put in law. See, there's
laws that cannot be broken. And one of them is this, when
you got saved, you were called to give. And look what it says
in verse 10. It says, if thou faint in the
day of adversity, your strength is small. If, it's all, this
is all going in the same direction. If thou forbear, that means you
don't do it, you hold back from doing it, to deliver them that
are drawn unto death. and those that are ready to be
slain, if you do not try to help them, verse 12, if you say, behold,
we knew it not, that means in your heart, if you say in your
heart, like, we didn't know, look what it says, does not he
that ponders the heart consider it? And he that keepeth thy soul. Does not he know it? And shall
not he render to every man according to his works? So this is serious
stuff, because it seems to me that most people think that when
you got saved, it was for some reason God saved you because
you're good, and he knew you, he loves you. I'm here to tell
you that isn't why God saved you. God saved you because you're
not good, and you're wicked, and you're going to hell. And
he is good. He's good. And he wants to try
to save as many people from hell as he can. And he says, now that
he saved you and has given you the gift of life, the gift of
eternity, the gift of forgiveness, he's given you that gift, you
have it. Now he says, now you've got to go and give it out. And
he doesn't make us do it. He as a father, as a God, as
a master, he commands us to do it. And what happens when you
break the commandments of God? There's always a repercussion.
Turn with me, if you would please, to Proverbs 22. Proverbs 22,
look in verse 1. It says, a good name is rather
to be chosen. So you choose this. God has given
us free will. And we are free to choose. Can
I get an amen? God's not going to make you keep
His commandment. He's not going to make you do
it. He's going to tell you the truth. The truth makes you free
from the devil and his lies. The truth makes you free and
lightens your eyes. You now can see the truth. Amen?
And what he says is this, a good name is rather to be chosen than
great riches and loving favor rather than silver and gold.
I pray for loving favor all the time. I pray that for Donald
Trump, I pray that the people of America, God would give him
favor in their eyes. because the devil stirs up hatred
and the devil stirs up lies. And I do, I pray every day that
God will give favor, loving favor to Donald Trump, that people
will not hate him. Because I'll be honest with you, I want him
to be elected more than anyone else right now. And I'm just
being nice, but here, loving favor. We can get loving favor
from God. For me to have God's favor, that's
a good thing. If I start off my day knowing
that I got God's favor on me, I'll tell you what, I'm whistling
Dixie a little louder, I got a little pep in my step, I'm
a little happy, you know what I mean? God's with me. But when
you start out your day, and you're already in your mind thinking,
I'm not going to hand out a track, I'm not even thinking about it,
I'm not going to do it, I don't care, because listen, Let's just
get real. When you think in your mind,
I'm not going to, what you're saying is, I don't care about
souls. That's what you're saying. And
does not God know it? Of course he does. He that keeps
your soul. Turn with me if you would, please, to Proverbs 19. You know, Psalm 23, the Lord
is my shepherd, right? What's it say? I shall not want. Isn't that great to know that
God will take care of everything of your life? Proverbs 19 verse
17 says this, he that has pity upon the poor, lend it unto the
Lord. And that which he has given,
look it says, will he, God, pay him again. This is an extraordinary
verse, because what it kind of says is, if you will give to
the poor, God owes you. He will pay you back. It's pretty
amazing to think that God's got his favor on you, and he looks
favorably upon you, and he kind of feels like I owe him, if I'm
allowed to use those words. He will pay you back. See, when
you're gonna pay someone back, you feel obligated to owe them
something, don't you? Isn't it great to know to have
God's favor on your life? And to know that God feels like
He owes you, like He's going to take care of you. He is my
shepherd, I shall not want. God's going to take care of every
single thing that's in my life today. God's going to provide
for me in everything I do. Why? Because I give. There's
a spiritual law that when you give, God gives to you. It's
a law and you can't break it. And yet we, for some reason,
we don't realize it. Look in Luke chapter six with
me, Luke chapter six. It's great to see you guys here
today. You're just making, I'm telling you, you're making my
day. You're making me feel really good today. I know, I don't believe it, I
know it. that when we gather together,
we bring the spirit of God with us. When we gather together,
we become the body of Christ. When we gather together, we are
living stones. And when we are gathered together,
there's power and there's a spirit. And I love just having you guys
here this morning. It's making me feel like I'm getting excited,
man. I really am. Look at me if you
would, please. In Luke chapter six, verse 38, Luke 6.38 says this, give, here's
a law, and it shall be given unto you. Christ, the word of
God is giving us an absolute guarantee. You hear this, give,
and it shall be given unto you. Look what it says, good measure,
press down. shaken together, and running
over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure
that you meet, with all it shall be measured to you again." We
can use that verse in many aspects of our lives. The way you judge
people, you'll be judged. The way you give to people, God's
going to give back to you. Give a little, get a little.
Give a lot, get a lot. And it's God It's God who pays
you back. Now you can take this physically
and that's good because the Word of God and God is a two-edged
sword cutting into the physical world and the spiritual world.
But we're going to see that he's not talking just physically because
in all reality, you know, now that there's welfare and there's
food stamps and there's all these things, there's not really, don't
take me for every grain of salt what I'm saying, but there's
really no more poverty like there was in America. Because back
then it was like, there's poor and there's nowhere to get it.
There was no shelter if you're homeless. There was no food banks
to get, you know what I mean? There was no, you were poor. That's why God told his people,
you go and take care of them. Think of Lazarus and the rich
man, right? People laid him there just so
he can get some food and the rich man didn't feed him and
he died. I mean, but now it's not like that. So it's not as
much like that. You know what I'm saying is true.
But now we are spiritual beings. And when God came to this earth
and sent his son, he didn't do it to give us bread and fish
upon the fire. He did it to give us spiritual
food, manna from heaven, things that are eternal. I want you
to turn with me, if you would please, to Matthew 25. There's spiritual laws that we
cannot get over. Good morning, Raven. Good morning,
Juliet. Good morning, Toby. How you doing, buddy? Matthew 25, look in verse 34
with me. Are you there? I hear page says,
then shall the king say unto them on the right hand, come.
Here it is. You blessed of my father. See,
when you give, you will be blessed. Look what it says. Inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Look what it says. For I was hungry, and you did
what? You gave me meat. I was thirsty, and you gave me
drink. I was a stranger, and you took
me in. Naked, and you clothed me. I
was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came
unto me. righteous answer him, saying,
Lord, when saw we thee hungered and fed thee, or thirsty and
gave thee drink? When saw we a stranger and took
you in, or naked and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick
or in prison and came unto thee? And the king shall answer and
say unto them, verily I say unto you, as much as you have done
it unto one of these of the least of my brethren, you have done
it unto me. that when you give to others,
God pays you back. It's just the way it is. And
what is more important to give, a loaf of bread or the Word of
God? Not the Bible, I was gonna say
the Bible. The old Proverbs says, give a
man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, you
feed him for a lifetime. Teach a person about God. Turn
with me if you would, please, to, I mean, same chapter, verse
26. Look in verse 26. It says, wherefore,
if they say unto you, is that right? No, 25, my page is turned. There you go, verse 26 says,
the Lord answered and said unto him, look, pay attention, thou
wicked and slothful servant, Thou knewest, you knew that I
reap where I sowed not and gather where I have not strawed. Thou
oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers and
then at my coming I should have received my own. He says you
wicked and slothful. So people that don't give are
wicked and slothful. When we have been given what
we have right now, When we've been given by the hand of God,
the Creator, the Savior, what He gave us, and we don't give
the others what He gave us, we are wicked and we're slothful. And because that's what God teaches,
give and it shall be given unto you. You know, and you can think
about this, what God gave, just real quickly, He gave us salvation,
amen? He gave us forgiveness. Give
us mercy. There's three things right there
and there's plenty more that we could give to others. We could show
people mercy. We could give forgiveness. Can
I say amen? And we can show them how to have salvation. We truly
can. I mean, great, great things he
has done for us. Great things we need to do for
others. The second law, a spiritual law is seek. The Bible says seek
and you shall find. Matthew chapter six. If you turn
there with me, please. Matthew chapter six. And we have
the spiritual word of God, which I love this verse. I just love
it. Ever since I heard it 30 some
years ago, it's one of them verses that just stick with me. It says,
but seek ye first the kingdom of God. 633. Thank you. Matthew 6.33, he tells us to
seek first. The very first thing we need
to seek is the kingdom of God. What does that mean exactly?
The kingdom of God means salvation. It also means everything that
pertains to the kingdom. But salvation is the most important
thing in the world. And if anyone, the Bible, it's
a law, listen to me, a law, no matter who it is, if they will
seek it, they will find it. Isn't that amazing? Even if you're
the most wicked person on earth, God has a law that you are under
that law. And if you seek it, you will
find it. And you can add that to many
different things. But seek ye first the kingdom
of God and His, what? Righteousness. That's the Lord
is our righteousness. And it says, and all these things
shall be added unto you. Law. It's a spiritual law that
cannot be broken. Look in Jeremiah chapter 29.
Jeremiah 29. Verse 13. Let me know when you're
there. It says, and you shall seek me. And what happens? And find me.
It says, when you search for me with all your heart, God will
be found of anyone that seeks him with all their heart. It's
a law, you can't break it. But he does give us the confines
of the law that we must seek him with our whole heart. Because
how many people seek God when they're in prison? How many people
seek God when they're in the hospital bed? How many people
seek God when there's a problem? How many people seek God when
they're hurting? How many people seek God when they get cancer?
You know what I mean? But that's not with your whole
heart. That's looking for God to solve your problem. We need
to be honest with ourselves, amen? And just look and say,
I want to know God. God, where I tell atheists this,
I told just before and I've seen it happen, and it was great advice
when I heard that if you don't believe in God, or you don't
love Him, or you don't love Him enough, or you don't believe
in Him enough, I don't care what realm it is, tell Him. He knows
anyway. If you're angry with Him, tell
Him. He knows anyway. Lord, I don't
believe in you. I think you're a myth. I don't
think you exist. I think it's a lie. I don't believe
any of it. So he knows it anyway. What you're
doing now is you're speaking the words of truth from your
heart to him and you start to tell God what's in your heart
for real. God starts to do something in
that heart and he starts to clean it and cleanse it and get it
clean of unclean spirits and other things where a person could
think soberly. I've seen this happen, people
that don't believe God. And I said, well, just cry out
and tell them. Why would I? I said, just do it. You don't
believe in God anyway. And they cry out, I don't believe in you.
And next thing you know, things are changing in their life. Next
thing you know, that hard heart is soft. Next thing you know,
they're seeking God and they believe God and they get saved.
just because they're starting to do it for real, amen? It says
in Jeremiah 29, 13, it says, and you shall seek me and find
me when you search for me with all your heart. It says in verse
11, for I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the
Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you an expected
end. God wants to give you an expected
end. What's your expected end? Molly, what's your expected end?
Like, what's your end? You expect heaven, don't you?
I expect to be with God forever. I expect Him not to go to hell.
He says, that's what I want to give you. Because my thoughts
to you are good. I love you. Turn with a look
at chapter 33 of Jeremiah. 33.3, we know this verse. They
call it the phone number of God. Jeremiah 33.3 says, call unto
me. And I will answer thee, and show
thee great and mighty things, look what it says, which thou
knowest not. Keep that in the back of your
mind. Turn to Matthew 7, please. Matthew 7. Matthew 7, 7, you can always
remember that. Matthew 7, 7 says, the Bible,
the word of God says, ask. and it shall be given you. It's a law, spiritual law. Ask and it shall be given you.
Seek and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be opened
unto you. For everyone, everyone, did you
read that? sinner, saint, everyone, and
he's talking about by faith, of course, and everyone that
asks receives, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh
it shall be opened unto you. Turn, if you were to Luke 11,
look in Luke 11, where we have the same kind of saying, but
he gives us a little more information on it. Luke chapter 11, starting
in verse 13, if you would, Are you there? I love this verse,
look what it says. If ye then, being evil, that
means not really being a good, no, Luke 11, 13. Know how to
give good gifts unto your children. Pay attention to what God says.
How much more shall your heavenly Father give the, what? Holy Spirit
to them that ask him. Because look in verse nine, it
says, and he says unto you, ask and it shall be given you. Seek
and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you for
everyone that asks receives. And he that seeketh, find him.
And to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. If a son shall
ask bread of any of you that is a father, will you give him
a stone? If he ask a fish, will he give
him for a fish, a serpent? Or if he asked for an egg, will
he offer him a scorpion? If you then being evil know how
to give good gifts in your children, how much more shall your heavenly
father give the Holy Spirit? to them that ask Him. See, I
want you to change your thinking from physical to spiritual. Change
it from physical to spiritual. That's why I said, seek ye first
the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then all these physical things
will be added unto you. But the problem is we're looking
for the physical more than the spiritual. We want the money
and the home and the marriage and the friendship, and we want
the car, and we want the this, and we want to feel good, and
none of that's bad. It just said, he said, seek first
salvation of the Lord and His righteousness. And then these
things will be added on. We have to think spiritually,
because what is the most important thing, spiritual or physical?
Spiritual. Physical only lasts for that
long. Spiritual lasts for eternity.
And our souls are eternal. We're going to live somewhere.
And God's eternal. And He wants us to have eternal things. And
so I want you to make sure you put in your mind spiritual way
above physical. You eat every day. Can I get
an amen? Jesus said, man shall not live by bread alone, but
by every word. So we need to, that proceeds
out of the mouth of God. So we have to realize that we
need the word of God more than we need our own food. I want
you to think about this. These three spiritual laws, one
is give and it shall be given unto you. The other one is seek
and you shall find. I think about the things that
I seek, and I've sought after the Lord, and He heard my cry,
and He set my feet upon a solid rock. And we know that Psalm
23 says, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me
lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside the still waters,
He restored my soul. And then He leads me down those
paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Because I am seeking
righteousness. I want to do what's right. Do
you want to do what's right? Well, the right, the best thing you
can do, it's right to share the gospel with somebody. Do whatever
it is you can do to make sure they don't go to hell. Whatever
it is you can do, do it so that they won't go to hell. Whether
it be, you know, give them slipping gospel tracks, being kind and
loving and caring to them. Because I'll be honest with you,
aren't you glad God has been kind and loving and caring to
us? Yet we are short tempered and we We judge too quickly,
and all those things are human nature traits. But I just want
to make sure that someone that I know, that I'm working with,
dealing with, doesn't go to hell. And the least I can do is pray
for them every day, amen? But here is the third thing.
We have give, and it shall be given. We have seek, and you
shall find. The third is sowing. So we have
a spiritual law of sowing. Turn to Galatians chapter six
with me, please. Galatians chapter six. And many
of you already know the verse I'm going to say. This is a spiritual
law that cannot be broken. Because God has made it so. Let me know when you're there,
Galatians 6. Y'all there? Look in verse 7 with me. It says,
Be not deceived. God is not mocked. For whatsoever
a man soweth, that shall he also reap. And he goes on to tell
us, for he that soweth to the flesh shall of the flesh reap
corruption, but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit
reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well-doing,
for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. Whatsoever a
man soweth, that shall he also reap. You can't get away from
that. It's a law. Look in 2 Corinthians chapter
9 with me. 2 Corinthians chapter 9, just
back a few pages. Let me know when you're there. It's a spiritual law that I want
you to see. It says in 2 Corinthians 9 verse 6, it says, but this
I say, he which soweth sparingly, that's a little bit, shall reap
also sparingly. And he which soweth bountifully
shall reap also bountifully. Every man according, please pay
attention, it's an important verse. Every man according as
he has purposed in his heart, so let him give. Not grudgingly
or of necessity, for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is
able to make all grace abound toward you, that ye, you, listen
to this, always having all sufficiency in all things. may abound to
every good work. God will make sure you always
abound and have everything you need when you give, because it
is a spiritual law, but you have to sow. Sow and you shall reap. What you're sowing is what you
shall reap. I think about sow bountifully,
reap bountifully. Sow little, reap little. But
it says, let every man give according to what he purposes in his heart. And what does that mean? I believe
that the closer you get to the Lord, the more you seek God,
the more you find God. And remember when it says, ask
and it shall be given you, seek and you shall find. What are
we asking for? What are we seeking for? What are we knocking for? He said, we read it in Luke,
shall not your father give unto you the Holy Spirit? And that's
what we ask for. That's what I pray for. I pray
for the Holy Spirit, for he gives me guidance and direction. He
gives me strength, healing. He gives me wisdom. He gives
me protection. He gives me joy, like honest-to-goodness
joy. He gives me love. Things that
this world can't give, things that I can't buy, things that
no one else can give me except Him, and He gives it to me. You
know what happens to a person that is loved? They don't need
love, because they already have love, so therefore, because they're
not needy, now they have, they can give. You know what happens
to a person that has joy? He's not looking for it, but
has it. He's not needy now. He has it. He can give it. How
about a person that has peace? They can give it because they
have it. And that's the problem is most of us Christians, we
go through life without these things because we're looking
and seeking for other things other than what we really need
is that close relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, with the
Holy Spirit. He is your answer to everything. And when you do
have that closeness and that relationship, you know what the
Holy Spirit's going to tell you? Go and give. Go and love. Go and care about somebody. The
greatest thing you could ever do is to lead someone to the
Lord or tell them how they can be saved. Because death and hell
is coming upon all people. We're all going to die. The Bible
says, for it is appointed unto men once to die, then after this,
to what? Judgment. We know judgment's
coming. And we know that even to the
saved people, judgment's coming. Not hell. But in heaven, we'll
be judged for what we did on this earth, in this body. The
Bible tells us that. It says whether good or evil. And then
we know that Jesus could say to us, you wicked and slothful
servant. I gave you a little tiny bit,
a little thing to do, and you did nothing with it. So I'm begging
you as my brothers and my sisters in the Lord, as children of God,
take it seriously, because God has given us the greatest gift
in the world. Think about what he has given us. He didn't just
say you have a free pass. He gave you his son, Jesus Christ,
to be crucified, tortured, beaten, his flesh ripped off of him.
That's why Jesus said, take eat. This is my body, which is broken
for you drink my blood. I mean, this is we're supposed
to as often as you do this, you show forth the Lord's death.
So we're supposed to remember the great cost of salvation to
us. Amen. And that should motivate
us to have some kind of compassion, some kind of Urgency to share
that gospel with someone else. And that's all God's asking us
to do, is to be witnesses of him. Tell others how you got
saved. Tell others how they can be saved.
And that's why we come to church. Give and it shall be given you.
Seek and you shall find. But sowing is specifically for
a purpose. Casting seed to get a harvest.
We sow for increase. You know, you think of the mustard
seed, right? In Luke 13, 19, it tells us, it says that it's
the kingdom of heaven is like this. It's like the mustard seed,
that when it is sown, when your faith is sown, it will grow and
it will be big. We sow on purpose. Please listen
to me. We sow on purpose. We leave our
house on purpose. We come to church on purpose.
You just don't nonchalantly come to church to do what? Sit there
because you're supposed to? You come in the house of God
to worship him. to praise Him, to give Him all the glory. You
say, yeah, but I had a rough week. So it has nothing to do
with God. Yeah, but you don't know what happened to my marriage.
It doesn't have anything to do with God. So the truth of the
matter is, is if we would have given more, we would have gotten
more. And I'm not talking about money
either. I'm talking about spiritual things. If God has given you
forgiveness, why aren't you forgiving those around you? For Christ's
sake, Bible says, for Christ's sake, forgive people, for his
sake. And when you think about any love or any joy or any peace
that God has ever given you, can't we try on purpose to leave
our house to make sure we smile and are kind to others? Just
so the love of Christ, which constrains us, we can share with
others. We have to think about it, because
if you don't leave on purpose, like if you don't leave the house
and say, when you leave the house, oh, I forgot gospel tracts. And
you run back, now I got gospel tracts. On purpose, I got some. So when I go to the store, or
when I go to the gas station, I go to the Wawa, I can, hey,
would you do, here, would you please read this for you to show
you how you can go to heaven when you die? Thank you very
much. God bless you. You know what I mean? Like, on
purpose, I take these. On purpose, you leave the house. So many
times, Joe, I've been caught without them. So many times. Remember, I'll be like, hey,
you got a track on you? And she's looking. I'm like, man, I left
the house not on purpose. And you don't leave that. And
you also don't leave your house and come into God's house without
a purpose. You come in here to be a blessing
to one another. You come in here to give the joy and give a shout
out to God. Give a praise. Give a song. Amen? That's why
when the pastor's trying to get you to sing, I shouldn't have
to get you to sing. I should probably be trying to
tell you, hey, quiet over there. even though that will never happen.
But I probably should be saying, yo man, you're a little too loud. That'll never happen. But I mean,
we should, we enter in the house of God. What's he say? Enter
into my house with thanksgiving and praise. Amen. We're supposed
to give God something back. You know, he gives us so much
and he said, give and it shall be given you. And we can't even
give God a shout out. I'm just saying. When you think
about the sower of the seed, how he sowed the word of God,
think of the souls, think of eternal life, and think of eternal
rewards. It says that we must purpose
in our hearts we got to give to the kingdom of God. God loves
a cheerful giver. God is able to make all grace
abound to you. God loves a cheerful giver. And
I'm going to finish with this. This story, I've told it before,
but it's so unbelievable, great in my life that I'll never, ever,
ever forget it. We were at a tent meeting at
our first church and Sammy Allen was preaching. It was a Tuesday
night. And during that week, just so you know, during that
week, my wife got saved. Our daughter got saved. Our daughter-in-law
got saved. I can't remember. Maybe someone
else got saved on our front. During that week under this tent
meeting, it was a great week. But that Tuesday, the preacher
was preaching. And I don't remember the message.
It wasn't like I was under conviction. But he was the best money taker
out of everyone. Like, if you had any money, he's
getting it somehow. I'm not saying that's good or bad. I'm just
saying he was good at it. And he stood up, and he had the power
of God all over him. And he said, the Lord wants me
to get an offering to give to someone under the tent tonight.
And he says, $600. We want to get $600 in two minutes. And it's a small. It's not like
1,000 people. And he said, do you think we can do it? Some
of you, yeah, yeah. He said, no, where's your faith? Do you really? think
we can do it." And people were like, yeah, yeah, they're getting
more faith. And also I got fired up and I had zero money. Gave
it all I had. Had my own business. Had seven children. I had no
money in the bank and all this. And I wanted to give money, but
I didn't have any. And people were giving and they're
coming up and handing money. And all of a sudden God put like
a total vision of a check sitting on my dresser for $150. And I
run, I got $150. He said, great. I said, it's
a check. He said, no checks, has to be
cash. And I went, oh, my purpose in my heart, I really want, the
guy behind me tapped my shoulder, and he was from Solid Rock. This
was 30 years ago. And he said, I'll give you the
cash. Give me the check afterwards.
I said, OK. So he got up. They got the $600 up in two minutes,
like he said, and he gave it to the pastor's kids. He said
the Lord told him to do that. So now service was over, I said,
I'll go and I'll get the check. And we're only about eight minutes
from the church, and I'm driving, it was summer, it was August,
I had my windows down, I went down there and I got the check. And
I'm telling you, I had the joy of the Lord, I was so happy to
be able to give. I went up, I got the check, and I'm all excited,
happy, I get in my car and I'm driving back. I was our LHS.
I was a good car. I remember that. Chrysler LHS,
man. Best seats I ever sat in. They were comfortable. I wish
I could get seats like that. And I'm driving back and the
windows are down and I'm all happy. All of a sudden, a voice
in my head starts saying, why did you have to say 150? What
are you going to do for gas tomorrow? You have no money, and no money
to put in your trucks. Why didn't you put, say, 75 or
50? And all of a sudden, I started to just entertain it. Then I
realized, this verse came to my head, for God loves a cheerful
giver. I was cheerful, and something's trying to take away my joy from
giving. And I realized, that's the devil trying to get me. And
I'm like, no, no. And now I'm trying to fight the
devil with scripture. I get to swear to God out, and
I'm trying to quote some scripture. God says, you, I could not. String together three words,
John. I couldn't think of any verses. It was all confusion.
And I'm trying, I'm like, but God said he'll take it. And I'm
battling, trying to battle this, the devil, whatever. And all
of a sudden, the Lord God shows up in my car like nothing else
I could ever explain to anyone. It was noisy, the windows were
down. All of a sudden, I was like in a vacuum. the most soberness
of clarity of thought I have ever experienced in my life,
like in a vacuum. Nothing else mattered at all. And a voice said, Michael, what
do you want? And looking deep in my heart,
wasn't even thinking of her. But when you're with God, the
soberness of thought, I said, I want my wife to love you. With
all of her heart, all of her soul, all of her mind and all
of her strength. And he said, you've got it. And then he was
gone. And back with the windows down,
the noise. I'm like, what just happened? I was like, what was
that? I really, I mean, it was scary,
holy, amazing, awesome, all these things. And I realized I was
just talking to God. God just spoke to me. And now
I'm saying, Lord, I really need some money for gas. I could use
a new truck. I'm serious. I figured I got
him. I might as well just start asking for stuff, amen? And I'm
driving, just contemplating, what just transpired? And I get
to the tent meeting, and it's over, and people are gathered
together, and there's girls singing, and people are talking. And I
come around the tent, and I look, and there's my wife sitting in
the sink, she bawling her eyes out. I mean, hysterically crying. And I just hit me like, and I
knew in my spirit she's under holy ghost conviction. Now you
got to remember, she's prayed a prayer and was baptized five
years earlier. We sat in the second row and
were at every single service. We went soul winning and did
everything the church said to do. And, but she felt like something
was wrong. She felt like I'm not saved.
And I would always tell her what the pastor told me, don't, don't
let that thought in your head. You are saved. You know what
I mean? Like I just said, don't let that thought in your head. But here
she knew she wasn't. Five years in church, five years
after being baptized, five years and God knew and she knew and
I wasn't even thinking of her. And I said, I want her to love
you. And I turned around, she's bawling her eyes out. I sit down
beside her and I put my arm around her and she's crying hysterically.
And I'm like, what's wrong? What's the matter? And she couldn't
talk. She wouldn't tell me. I said, is it the girl singing?
Is it this? And I knew what it was, that she's under a holy
ghost conviction. And so I got nervous. Sammy Allen
walked by. I said, Brother Allen, could
you talk with her? And I got up. And I'm nervous as a long-tailed
cat in a room full of rocking chairs. And I'm just like, what
do I do? And he's talking. And then the voice of man said,
pray. That's what you do. I started praying for her. Next
thing you know, she gets up. She walks with him to the altar.
And a group of women all come around her. And she prays and
got gloriously born again. born again, never to doubt her
salvation. It was the greatest day of mine
and her life. Amen. And that was all because
I gave all that I had and God honored it and knew it. Amen.
That I'll never forget that as long as I live. It was like it
happened a minute ago. Amazing. That's what God does.
We're out of time, but I just want you to realize that Sikhi
first, the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And all these
things shall be added unto you. Let's pray. Dear Heavenly Father,
I want to thank you for those who have come today. Please bless
them. Protect their minds, their hearts, their families. Help
them to be givers of the things that you gave to them. Bless
them. Make them fruitful in every good
thing. Thank you for this church. Please bless the service ahead,
we pray in Jesus' name. Amen. Church will start in about
70 minutes. Thank you.
