Amen. Thank you for tuning us
in. I'm Darrell Bailey, Servants
for Christ. As we continue on in our series,
how did we get to now and why? You see, the universe is now
because God spoke. We're going to be talking about
in our second series, the first things of creation. And as we
look at that, we begin to realize in Genesis chapter one, verses
one and two, Here is the now, because how did we get to now?
Well, God spoke it into existence. And the why? Well, the Bible
declares that God's behind everything. The universe is not eternal,
nor did it just happen. The universe did not just come
into being by chance. Something did not come out of
nothing, and nothing did not produce nor give rise to something. There is a creator, a supreme
person, a supreme intelligence and force who has created the
universe and the creator has given the universe purpose and
meaning. That's the why. Oh yeah. And
so as we look at the word of God, we're reminded in our series,
how did we get to now and why? Because In this series, as we
talk about it, in the beginning, God created the heaven and earth.
And our series is how did we get to now and why? And that's
where our story begins. The universe is now because God
spoke that this is his world. It wasn't an accident. It wasn't
an afterthought. He created with intention, with
a plan for his people. And he created with love and
with care and with attention to detail that is beyond our
ability to comprehend. His creation reflects and reveals
His beauty, His glory, and His majesty. And this is our Father's
world. And He's placed us here in the
midst of it. And He's given each of us the
charge of taking care of our little corner. And we're called
not only to take care of the earth, but to look out for one
another as well. We are our neighbor's keeper.
We are to love what God loves and who God loves. And that's
everybody. This series includes creation
from Genesis chapter 1 to Genesis chapter 3, and how we view the
origins of the universe colors everything else about our worldview.
Hey, did evidence start with a speck of dust or a big bang?
The answers in the Bible, the wonderful Word of God. And so
here as we open up, I want to open with a word of prayer. Father,
we read your word and we asked, Lord, as you would open our eyes
to all of the creation that you have created, Father. that Lord
we understand those things for our purpose and Lord in such
a way that Lord God that we look to you that we believe and trust
you that Lord everything that you have given us on our belief
of a loving and a wonderful culture father that you have created
for all of us Lord I pray God that Lord that you would give
us an answer according to your word how that everything was
created by you And Lord, we ask everything as you give us this
understanding. And as we read your word, may
it come to light for all of us. Thank you for saving us by your
marvelous grace. And we pray for the many that needs prayer.
Lord Shelva Baker, Father. Lord, I pray God. Lord, I pray
for our pastor's wife, Amy Dipsy. And so, Lord, I pray for each
and every one. I pray for Denise Davis, Father.
I pray God for Betty Black, our aunt, Lord. I pray, Father, for
all the many that are experiencing death and their families, for
Bethel Crossroads, and Lord, for all those that are having
surgeries. In Jesus' more blessed mighty name, amen. All right. Now, I read about a group of
scientists and engineers that they had spent years gathering
information to determine the origin of all things. as the
thousands of bits of information begin to come together. Finally,
the day came that all of the information had been programmed.
The scientists, the engineers, they gathered around this giant
computer, and as the instruction was punched in, produce a detailed
account of creation of the Earth. That's what they punched in.
Breathlessly, the group waited. The great computer hummed, it
rattled, it finally printed a typed out printout. And it said, see
Genesis 1.1. There are primarily two theories
for existence of all things. The view that God created all
things as held by creationists, and the view that all things
evolved over billions of years as held by the evolutionists. The most popular theory of the
evolutionists is explosive creation. called the Big Bang Theory. And
the Big Bang assumed that all the material of the universe
was originally bound in a super-hot, super-dense mass. Its temperature
was more than a trillion degrees. All matter was homogenized into
hydrogen and helium. And the explosion of this fireball
kicked out matter with enormous velocity in all directions all
over the place, like a mixed-up direction. A billion years later,
the clouds of matter began to condense into a galaxy of stars. Everything in the solar system,
including our bodies, have been reprocessed from material left
behind by earlier stellar explosions. With the evolution of the planetary
geological structure and the development of a stable planetary
atmosphere, life became possible. Hogwash. You know, the amazing
universe, Herbert Freeman, an evolutionist, chief scientist
and CEO, Herbert Center for Space Research, U.S. Naval Research
Laboratories writes, and I quote, as the sum of, as he says, As
the sum of knowledge grows, the astronomer continues to seek
answers to man's most profound questions. What is the grand
design of the universe? How was it created? How did we
get here? What are we? Are we alone? How was it all created? To find
the answer, you have to ask the only one that knows. And I'm
glad that was God himself. And so how was it all created?
You know, scientists tell us that our Milky Way is over 15
billion years old. And the problem with that is
that there was no one around 15 billion years ago. So how do scientists know how
old the Milky Way is? The simple truth is they don't
know. They just assume that that's how old it is. Evolutionists
tell us that over a billion years, all things have evolved. But
the problem is no one has ever seen anything evolve. They just
assumed that's what happened. Can you believe they're teaching
this in school? God help us. Please stay tuned in for the
wonderful word of God. And so they remind us of a little
boy on his way to school. He caught a bumblebee. He put
it in the cork bottle. He put it in his back pocket.
He got to school. He sat down and during the course of the
day, The cork came out of the bottle and the bumblebee got
loose in his pants. He was squirming around, he was
slapping at his backside and the teacher asked little Jimmy,
what are you doing? And he said, teacher, there's
something going on back there that you don't know anything
about. And so the simple truth is, is that what went on back
there, the scientists, the geologists, the astronomers and the evolutionists
can't really say there was something going on back there that they
don't know about. And the plain truth is that the only one who
knows is God. He was there. And so he was the
only one that was there. He was the only one that can
really tell us what happened. Creation. And so in the beginning,
God created the heaven and the earth. But before we go any further,
I'm going to tell you. As we look at the powerful word
of God, a person who reads and thinks truthfully thinks about
this great statement that is captivated by it's an astounding
declaration. Why? You know, because he realizes
that the basic questions of creation are captured in the divine statement. In the beginning, God created
the heaven and the earth. So much to think about, so much
to learn. The Bible declares that God is behind everything.
The universe is not eternal, nor did it just happen. The universe
did not just come into being by chance. Something did not
come out of nothing. Nothing did not produce nor give
rise to something. There is a creator, there is
a supreme being, a supreme intelligence, a force who has created the universe. The creator has given the universe
purpose and meaning. And so scripture does not argue
God's existence. It declares God's existence. We see how God formed the earth. And so here scripture does not
argue that the heavens and the earth have a creator. It declares
that God created the heavens and the earth. And the most significant
fact is When we look at it, we see the basic questions concerning
creation. The Bible tells us that over
the course of six days, God created the heaven and earth, and there
were some that view these days not as 24 hours, but as epochs,
ages, or vast period of time. Without going into it, listen
to me. I believe the Bible is referring
to a literal 24-hour days. Amen? Period. And that's exactly
that. It's literal. And so when we
look at day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, we begin to look at and we
begin to see The answer to the very questions that man asked
about his own personal origin and about the origin and the
roots of the universe is that when we look at them, we begin
to realize that here, in day one, God brought light into existence.
In Genesis 1, verses 3, 4, and 5. In day two, God formed the
atmosphere in Genesis 1, verses 6, 7, and 8. In day three, God
formed the continents and the seas in Genesis 1, verses 9 and
10. And on the third day, God gave the world plant life. And
verses 11, 12, and 13. And then on day four, God filled
the heavens in verses 14 through 19. And then on day five, God
filled the seas and the skies in verses 20, 21, 22, and 23. On day six, God filled the earth
with various creatures. Verses 24 and 25. On the sixth
day, God created man. And on the seventh, God rested.
And so when we look, We begin to see that each of the things
that begin to transpire, that we saw the unformed and the formed,
of how that everything came together, how God spoke everything into
existence. And there are three groups of
people, many of whom that are ungodly, most of whom are anti-godly,
called atheists, humanists, and evolutionists. These three are
the worst of the worst kind because they try to prove everything
based on evolution and don't believe in nothing and their
humanistic views of John Dewey. of the education system. Nothing
wrong with education. But John Dewey, I'll get to him
in just a little bit, they are determined to eliminate God from
our thinking, from our living. They begin by saying that this
universe in which we live just happened. But the problem is
they cannot tell us what happened because they were not there when
it first happened. And only God can tell us what happened because
he was there in the very beginning. Scientists can theorize hypothesized,
but only God can tell us what really happened at the beginning
of it all because only God was there. And so, John Dewey, educator,
secular humanist, he defines our beliefs and goals from seven
things as a result of a secular humanist. Evolution, number one.
Number two, materialism. Oh God, he's starting off horrible,
horrible. Pleasure, good Lord. Legislature. popular opinion, media, and world
peace. I tell you, when he ran against
Harry S. Truman, who was the first to
officially recognize Israel as a legitimate Jewish state, May
the 14th, 1948, only 11 minutes after its creation became much
of discussion as the first Jewish state. Thank God that it wasn't
John Dewey. They put the newspaper out and
they said that Dewey defeats Truman, which was a lie in the
paper, and Truman was not expected to win. And I'm going to tell
you, back when Truman was a Republican, every one that's a Democrat today
and every racist that's across the world were Republicans then,
and now today they're Democrats. I wonder why it changed. I wonder
what happened. And all the educators are a part of of what's caused
our problem, the John Deweys of society, because of their
evolution, of their materialism, of their humanism. And I'm going
to tell you exactly what it is. And I guarantee you, I'm going
to tell you what it is. How did we get to now and why? Because
of people like John Dewey, the humanistic manifesto that says
stuff like Oh, my goodness, that are tied in with the New World
Order of uniting the nations in one federal system. Look at
this 12. I can barely read it. But believing that religion must
work increasingly for joy in living, religious humanists aim
to foster the creative to man and to encourage achievements
that add to the satisfaction of life. What in the world is
that? Huh? I'm going to tell you, that's
a bunch of junk. And so we look at why today is
so messed up. Because if Harry Truman would
have lost that and John Dewey, we would have started the junk
that we got today in the White House and everything back at
that time. And we would have really been
in a mess by today. That's the honest God truth of
why we're in what we're in right now. And so here we see the first
things of creation. And so when we look back and
begin to realize that in Genesis 1 through 11, we see the creation,
the fall, the flood, and the Tower of Babel. Then as we go
forward in Genesis 12 through 50, as the events predominant,
of creation and fall and flood and Tower of Babel, we go into
the people that are predominant. That is Abraham, Isaac, Jacob
and Joseph. The race as a whole was in Genesis
1 through 11, but in 12 through 50, we'll see the family of Abraham
over 2,000 years ago and then 250 years back. Unformed, we
see day one of light. Unfilled, day four, light bears,
sun, moon, stars. We see the unformed, day two,
water and sky divided. Then we see day five, the fish
and the birds to fill water and sky. Then day three, dry land
and vegetation. And day six, land animals and
man. And day seven, the Sabbath day
rest. So the likeness of the differences between the light
and darkness that are made by God as day one, that they had
seen God bring light and darkness over Egypt. from the Israelite
experience. The division of the waters on
day two, that they had passed through the Red Sea. The sun
and the moon, the stars created on the fourth day, the experience
of the Israelites. The Egyptians watched the sun
and the moon, the stars, and had seen the sun darken in Egypt.
Man is created in the image of God. Only the favor was thought
to be the image of God. Looks like just like the modern
world of how we look at things today. In Genesis 1, man is told
to rule over the earth, but only the favor had the right of rulership.
Man is placed into the beautiful garden, but then the Israelites
are tempted to return to the meats of Egypt, but Canaan is
the new promised Eden. And so, here, the first things
of creation. In the beginning, God created
the heaven and the earth, and The earth was without form and
void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit
of God moved upon the face of the waters. Here when we look
and we begin to realize that Genesis 1.1 in the beginning
God created heaven and earth and God said let there be light
and there was light in that first day of Genesis 1.3. Genesis 1.6
God said and made the sky the atmosphere and then in Genesis
1.9 and God said dry land appeared and it was so. In Genesis 1.11
and God said and he made plants and he seemed to be a pattern
here on that third day because in Genesis 1.14 God said let
there be light made the moon, the sun, the stars on that fourth
day. In Genesis 1.20, God said He made all life in the water,
fish, etc., plus birds on the fifth day. In Genesis 1.24, God
said He made land animals. And then in Genesis 1.26, God
said here on day six, He makes living souls and bodies of flesh,
you and me, on that sixth day. But the first days of creation,
as we look if a person holds to all of these things that we
look at. When was the universe created?
In the beginning. Who created the universe? God
created it. And then God was created. What
was created? The heaven and the earth, that
is the universe. And how was the earth created?
Without form and void, in darkness, covered by water, and by the
Spirit's activities. This is what we're going to talk
about when we see First Things of Creation, which is the second
series that we're in as we continue on in our teachings of Sunday
night here as we get into the wonderful Word of God. Amen.
And so when did it first begin? When was matter first formed
and energy first activated? When was the heavens and the
earth created? And so the Bible tells us that in the simplest
of ways that all nations of people can understand that the heaven
and earth, they were created in the beginning of the Hebrew
word of beginning. And there was the beginning of
the universe, neither the world nor human life are eternal. The
universe has not always existed because the phrase in the beginning
means there was a time when everything first started and when the universe
first began and the idea is absolute because when we look at this
we begin to realize that all of us the universe had a beginning
and there was a time when the world did not exist and then
all of a sudden we begin to realize we must know today where man
has come from, because man must know where he has come from and
why he is here, because man can never fulfill his purpose upon
earth unless he knows who put him here and why he was placed
here. And so we see the first things
of creation, of the basic questions concerning creation. When was
the universe created? And so here, when we look at
the word of God, we're reminded that the things of the world
had a beginning, and that surround man, that man handles and deals
with and possesses, that constitute man's own being, compose the
substances of the world and make up all the matter and all of
the energy. There was a time when there was
nothing, no heaven, no earth, no physical matter, no physical
energy, no atoms, no electrons, no protons, no deutrons, no hydrogen,
nor any other gases of substance whatsoever. There was nothing
in the physical and material world, our dimension of being.
And then all of a sudden, out of nowhere and out of nothing,
the universe began to be made. The process of time began. And
then there was a beginning. And then the material and the
physical things began. The physical world, the dimension
of being, was launched. When? In the beginning. In the
absolute beginning of creation. The Hebrew writer says, And thou,
Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth,
and the heavens are the works of thy hands. And so here the
universe had a beginning. But secondly, nothing whatsoever
is said about how long ago the universe was created. No dates
are given to determine the age of the heavens and the earth,
and there's not even a hint given as to the age of either. And
so what are the scientific indications of these things for a young earth? Most people are unaware of the
many age estimation methods that seem to contradict the typical
age-old dates mentioned in the media. Fewer scientific age estimation
systems have been interpreted as evidence for billions of years
old Earth. Many have been suggested as evidence
consistent with the theory that the Earth is much younger. and
the opinion of astrophysicist, geophysicist, and creationist
Dr. Hal Slusher that there are a
number of indicators that seem to indicate an age of no more
than 10,000 years at the very most for the solar system and
the Earth. Do you hear me? And so here we
look and we begin to realize that when was the universe first
created? And I thank God The universe
had a beginning. Nothing whatsoever is said about
how long. But when was it created? I'm
glad as we look at the scientific indications for a young Earth. First of all, the first thing
that we see is a magnetic field because the Earth's magnetic
field that is out there is surrounded by an invisible magnetic force.
which aligns near the north and the south poles and this magnetic
field that makes a directional compass operate, the needle of
the compass points to the north magnetic pole and like all force
of nature, the energy in this dipole magnetic field is decaying
and it's decreasing in strength. So due in part to the second
law of thermodynamics, the strength has dropped 6% since the measurements
began in 1835. Dr. Thomas Barnes is a scientist
who has studied this crate in detail and conclusion that the
half-life of this magnetic field is approximately 830 to 1400
years old. we look and we begin to realize
that half-life, the time required for half the amount of a force
or substance to be eliminated. For an example, one ounce of
original radioactive material would decay, leaving half-ounce
after one half-life has elapsed. The remaining half-ounce would
be halved to a quarter-ounce and another half-life ensued. That means that 830 to 1400 years
ago, the magnetic force, or field would have been twice
as strong as it is today. Another 830 to 1400 years before
that, it would have been four times as strong and so on. You
understand? And so according to Dr. Barnes,
if we went back 10,000 years, the Earth's magnetic field would
have been as strong as a field and a magnetic star. A magnetic
star is like our sun. It has a nuclear power source.
And if our Earth never had a nuclear source like the Sun, surely our
Earth never had a magnetic field stronger than that of a star.
That would limit the age of the Earth to 10,000 years. And so, what am I saying? Is
this Earth not a million years old? It's not a billion years
old because they can detect it from the facts of the Earth's
magnetic field. And so the comments, if they
begin to look at the comments and study of the comments of
all the things that we look and everything to try to explain
the theory that matches all of the things and the data that
evolutionists say it is. The natural objects in space
which orbit the sun and possibly other stars, not including meteors
or objects orbiting the planets or the moons, even though that
we got a bunch of satellites up there right now. And three
quarters of the circumference around the Earth is covered by
United States satellites. Only about a tenth of them are
covered by China and then a fifth of them are covered by Russia.
because they're the three most powerful nations that has the
most powerful satellites, the most of them of over the times
of years. Of course, yes, you've got those
dingbats over in India and a couple other little places that have
things that they try to show their little bit of power that
they've got, everybody's launched satellite. But the three major
players is the United States, China, and Russia. Russia as
well does these crazy things all the time. But when we look
up, We begin to realize that comets orbit our sun. They disintegrate
due to the sun's powerful gravity and the solar wind and the internal
explosions. And if our solar system is billions
of years old, one must ask, why are there any short period comets
left? Because you know what? When we
look at all of these facts like this, All the astronomical researchers,
the maximum lifetime of the most short period comets is calculated
to be about what? Go ahead and say it for me. 10,000 years. That's right because
that's what's there. And there's not a billion and
there's not a million. of what they're teaching at school and
what people say in the movie house and everywhere else. It
presents a problem for the evolutionary astronomers because they believe
that these comets came into existence at the same time as the solar
system itself, sometime after the supposed original Big Bang.
And the evolutionists have devised a theory to deflect criticism
on this point, and they propose that a gigantic cloud of comets
is steadily feeding in a new supply. Oh my goodness, what
kind of hot wash is that? Oh my goodness, I'm going to
tell you, let me move on. I ain't got a lot of time. The
escaping moon is another factual thing besides we've got the word
of God. Of the escaping moon, due to various factors including
the tidal friction, the Earth's rotational speed is constantly
slowing. This provides evidence to limit the Moon's age to less
than 1 billion years, that is at least 80% slower than the
age assigned by evolutionists. And the tidal friction the orbiting
Moon exerts, a decelerating torque on a planet Earth, vice versa,
breaking effect that is due to two main factors, a gravitational
pull between the Moon and the Earth, the Moon's gravity, that
affects the oceans and the Earth's rotation speed that is greater
than the Earth's orbit speed, thus the Earth's back and forth
tidal movements caused by the Moon that create friction against
the rotating planet, especially in shallow waters. And the slowing
of the Earth transfers its energy to the Moon and it results in
a constant yearly increase in the distance between the Earth
and the Moon. And the deceleration is the slowing but can still
be measured. And it tells us, what are you going to tell me
that it says? 10,000 years. Amen. Go ahead and say the next
one for me as well. Is the sun shrinking? That's
another way because when we look at the helium in the Earth's
atmosphere and we look at the radiogenic helium that's generated
by the decay of the uranium, the thorium, and the other radioactive
elements that are out there, We asked ourselves, due to the
self-consumption of the sun that is almost surely smaller now
than it was at its peak, if the shrinking rate could be accurately
measured and if the sufficient solar data could be collected,
they could be used to estimate the sun's age. How fast is the
sun really shrinking? How much has the rate varied
through the centuries? Evidence to the answer to these
questions is maybe inconclusive, but even at the very conservative
rates, there's still a problem for those who believe in a billions
of years old Earth and sun. Listen to me, because is the
Sun shrinking? Yes, it is. It can be showed
that at for a 99.8% of the Earth's supposed evolutionary age, it
could have been too hot for life to exist due to the Sun's greater
size. These conservative figures also
would make the Sun twice its present radius only 1 million
years ago, 210 billion years ago that the Sun would have been
large enough to touched up Earth, even only 10 million years ago,
the sun could have been too large for life on the planet, that
it would have burned up everything. It wouldn't have big banged it,
it would have slushed it. And so the rate of the shrinkage
would have, of course, yielded substantially numbers of years
ago, cautioned the Castile. The implication is that the sun,
and thus also the Earth, could be considerably younger than
assumed. And so I'm not a scientist, I'm
a minister, but I'm telling you these are the facts. But somebody
throwed all these facts out the window when they put the evolution
things in. We'll look at the population
of the growth as one of those things as well. But the Earth's
supposed evolutionary, that all of these things, even when they
go and they measure the sun, And the solar, it's too hot for
life to exist due to the sun's greater size. Even the space
dust that has been brought back from the planet for the moon,
that it doesn't have enough evidence to prove that we've been around
billions and millions of years. OK, and so you take the helium
in the Earth's atmosphere and you check it and it'll tell you
exactly 10,000 years. And so the meteorites will tell
the story. The population growth will tell
the story. Why are we just now having, if
we would have been around billions and millions of years, we would
have been having a problem with the population growth a so long,
long, long, long ago that now you got some Bill Gates out there
wanting to take these innocent people over in these other countries
and give them something that where they can no longer have
children and all these other folks out there that want to
go ahead and make decisions for the rest of the world because
they got enough money that they think they can do so. That is
so wrong. And so I'm going to tell you
like it is that hey it is what it is of the date of February
the 17th is that in the year 2348 BC it began to rain for
the very first time in history. You say how do you know this?
Well just look at my scripture and I'll tell you that's how
I know it. I got it from the Bible that's how and so It began
to rain. For the very first time in history
it rained, beginning on February the 17th, 2348 BC, that it rained
for 40 days and 40 nights. And we read what? In Genesis
7 verse 11. Now this is chronological. But
this is a chronological order of the time frame. And so, in
Genesis chapter 7 verse 11, in the 600th year of Noah's life,
in the second month, the 17th day of the month, did it tell
me? Yes, it did. The same day were all the fountains
of the great deep broken up and the windows of heaven were open.
And that was the great flood. And so, if I mean, I'm not not,
I ain't that great in math, but if I could halfway go back and
try to estimate how long ago that that time frame of that
time frame would be 4,331 years ago, creation began in the time
frame because the Jews have their belief of the time of when creation
started around and began in 1648 BC that when the days of the
flood are totaled we find that Noah and his family as well as
all the animals were in the ark a total of and give and take
371 days subtracting the 40 days and 40 nights of the torrential
waters which would leave us 331 days as the answer and so here
we look of the things of the time frame and we realize that
we're around the 10,000-8,000 range. And so who created the
universe? God created it. When we look
at all of the things that evolutionists say that we've got today and
all the provisions that come back from the dust and from all
of the studies, we've got to heed the passage of the scripture.
We must know where we have come from and why. Because God created
us. And you're listening and reading
textbooks that tells you the wrong information because It
ain't nothing about evolution whatsoever. And so, since man
had a beginning, he also has an ending. And he must be prepared
to face the person who gave him his beginning. Man must repent
and prepare to face his creator. And I'm glad that Ecclesiastes
chapter 12 verse 1 says, Remember now thy creator in the days of
thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years drawn
nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them. And so,
every one of us. We realize that Jesus Christ,
God the Son, is the beginning, the end, and of all things. And
it is to him that man must repent and turn. And so the universal
truth is there was a beginning and there will be an ending.
And the world and all that is in the world shall pass away.
The physical, the material things of the world change their form,
they pass on, they deteriorate, they decay, they waste away.
Even man himself changes, ages, wastes away, he dies. Boy, I'm
going to tell you, The end to all that begins, including man.
We have a beginning and we have an end. And so who created the
universe? God created it. And I'm glad
that every one of us, when we look at the first Hebrew name
for God is Elohim. And he tells us that he was that
creator, the purity. of persons within the eternal
Godhead. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit played a part.
They were the actual creator of all things. The entire Godhead
was involved in the creation. And I'm glad Paul talks about
it, that he says that right there where he says, are things present?
Are things to come? All are yours. He says they're
yours, God, because you created everything. Everything, life,
the world, death, You created them. That's what Paul said when
he was talking about this in 1 Corinthians chapter 3. He said,
God, you created the world. You created life. You brought
death. All things present are things to come are all yours,
he said. Amen? And so we begin to realize
that as he tells us this, who created the universe, God. And
so, first, the Hebrew name for God is Elohim. Second, God was
there in the beginning. And God is the Almighty God,
the God of almighty power. He's the self-existent eternal.
He's totally self-sufficient. And I'm glad He's a God that
was there in the beginning. And I'm glad that here, that
the universe, as He was the one that gave us every bit that we
have today. He created it, and He can destroy
it. and six beliefs that God's existence
disproves atheism, skepticism, agnosticism, and I don't know
if I have time to go into all of the patheism, polytheism,
materialism, humanism, and secularism that have destroyed this country
today, and that have made it, and that have turned the fags
out of the closet, the gays out of the closet, and that have
messed up everything in this world that you know that's messed
up today, because God did not create none of that stuff. He
had a plan. And so, when we look and we realize
that in the beginning God created, God took care of all of these
things, the atheists, the belief that there's no God, no supreme
being, the skepticism and the agnosticism, the belief that
a person just cannot know whether or not there is a God, Lord help
them, because when they are ready to die, I tell you, I saw a lot
of them get a conversion going very quickly. The pathism that
believes in God but not in a personal God. God is nothing more than
a force and an energy of the universe. The basic underlying
force and energy of all things. That's pathism. And so God existed
before the forces and the energy of the universe ever came into
being or were ever activated, praise God. And so polytheism,
the belief that there's many gods, but the Bible is clear
in the beginning, God, not gods. There was God and there was God
alone, one God, not many gods. The Lord God is one and he is
alone in the sovereignty, majesty of the universe. And so, I'm
telling you, as we look and we begin to realize, read Exodus
chapter 20 verses 3, 4, and 5, it'll tell you. Deuteronomy 435,
unto thee it is showed that thou mightiest know that the Lord
he is God, there's none else besides him. And so, patheism,
the materialists, their belief is that the universe is all there
is, the world and the things of the world are all that exist.
And they say there's no God and there's not a personal God. That's
materialism. And so how wrong that they are
out there today. And humanism is the belief that
man himself is the ultimate being in the universe. That there's
no God, there's no supreme being who rules over man in the universe.
Man is his own authority and determines his own destiny. And
man is the reasoning power to control and rule over both himself
and nature. That's the problem with America today. All these
humanists that are out there. God help us. Boy, I'm going to
tell you. And so the secularism that's
similar to humanism, it is just another name cloaked in the same
belief as humanism. It is a belief that this world
and the things of this world are all there is. Man's not a
spiritual being. He's not answerable to a supreme
God. Therefore, man is to focus upon this life and this life
alone, and he's to make himself as comfortable and happy as he
can. And he's to get as much out of life as he can. Eat, drink
and marry for tomorrow he dies. Boy. I'm telling you, the Bible
says, in the beginning God. And so we see that the heaven
and the earth was created. That is the universe by the Lord. What was created? The earth is
only 88,000 miles in diameter, only 25,000 miles in circumference. Our Earth is within a solar system
of nine other planets that revolve around the Sun, ten planets counting
the Earth. Our Sun is so large that it's
about 864,000 miles in diameter. And when we stand out at night
and look up into the heavens and see what we call the Milky
Way, God was there when the heavens and the earth were created. God
created the universe out of nothing. And there is a purpose in creation. And the heavens and earth reveal
such things about God. And that means at least two things.
Man can see the eternal power, the supreme intelligence, the
force, the energy, and the power of God. And man can see the Godhead,
that is his deity, that he's almighty God in control of everything.
There's a star that is out there that is so big that the Beltigeuse,
215 million miles in diameter, and this thing is so big it's
right in the center of everything. How big is that? The Sun could
sit in the center and the Earth could revolve around its present
orbit without ever touching the enormous star. Some people say this thing is
going to blow up and explode one of these days. The recalibrated
Beltgeese mass radius distance. The Beltgeese is normally one
of the biggest, most recognizable stars of the winter sky. Notice
how I said the winter sky as we're coming into it. Marking
the left shoulder of the constellation Orion, but lately has been behaving
strangely. Unprecedentedly large drop in
its brightness has been observed in early 2020, and which has
prompted speculation that the Beltgeese may be about to explode. And so God was there when the
heavens and the earth were created. God created the universe out
of nothing. There was purpose in creation.
The heaven and earth reveals the things about God. And so,
and the earth was without form and void and the darkness was
upon the face of the deep and the Spirit of God moved upon
the face of the waters. How was the earth created? Without
form and void and darkness covered by water, by the Spirit's activity.
Here the translation of the unshaped or undeveloped earth theory.
This position says that the earth was created in stages just as
Genesis 1 says. Verse 1 launches the first stage
of creation. God created earth right along
with the heavens. He used his supreme power to hang both the
earth and the other heavenly bodies in space at the same time.
And verse 2 simply describes what the earth looked like in
the first stage of creation and how it looked before the seven
days of creation took place, before God created light, water,
animals, and man. And so, as we look at the unshaped
and undeveloped Earth theory, the Earth was without form and
void, the Earth was wrapped in a blanket of darkness, and the
Earth was covered with water, and the Earth was created by
the Spirit of God, that is the Holy Spirit. And so, how did
we get here? I'm glad when we look and we
begin to realize that because the universe is now because God
spoke it into existence. And so every one of us, when
we look at all the magnificent that God has created, because
I'm out of time, and I know I am, and I'm glad that I'm going to
close out with an illustration that I used 20 years ago. I used
this illustration that I'm fixing to use 20 something years ago. And as I use it, and as I close
out with it, we've discussed a lot of things about How the
unshaped, unformed, barren, empty, desolate, destitute, undeveloped,
unfinished, unfruitful, unproductive. All of this science tells us
that there's heavenly bodies being formed even now. Each in
some state of gaseous or solid development. As stated, this
could be what is meant by being without form and void because
the earth merely went through the various formative stages
of development. both the gaseous and solid stages.
And if so, this would mean that God created the atoms and all
of the basic elements of the universe. And he allowed them
to form through the natural laws that he had set in motion. Amen.
So far as we can tell, this is the way the stars, the worlds
are being formed in the far regions of outer space to this very moment.
This is what happened in all the statements that we see. The
blanket of darkness that covered the earth when the heavenly bodies
had been created. And I'm glad that as we look
at this, we begin to realize that as I close out, God has
done a tremendous blessing as he created everything that we
have. And so once upon a time, faith
and science, they were taking a walk together. And as they
were going down the sidewalk, science said, hey, faith, hey,
you can't walk beside me. I'm much better than you are.
Science got in front and faith got right behind science. And
after a while, they come down to some rock formation. And Science
said, well, Faith, you see these rocks and these stones down there
in that corner? Faith said, yeah, I see those rocks. Science said,
well, I have the ability to be able to test those rocks, and
I can tell how old the Earth's crust is. And they kept on walking,
and Faith was right behind Science. After a while, they came to the
green forest, and Science said, Faith, you see all those different
kinds of trees? Faith said, yeah. Science said,
well, I know them all one by one. yonder is the spruce tree
over there is the cedar tree over there is the money oak tree
they kept on going they came to a flower garden satch turned
around the faith and said hey you see all those flowers over
there according to my abilities in botany i know every one of
them oh yonder's a snap dragon over there's a hollyhock there's
a daisy look at that big daffodil yonder's a rose over there's
a lily They kept on walking and after a while they came down
to a river that didn't have no bridge and it didn't have no
boat. Sites got down to the edge of the river and they stopped
in his tracks. And Faith was behind him and
he touched him on his shoulder and he said, move on Sites, don't
stop yet. And Sites said, well, I can't
go any further until I get a bridge here. Somebody bring me a boat
over here. Somebody come strut me a bridge
out here. I can't go any further. They
said, well, come on, science, you just get behind me because
I specialize when you can't see your way. When you don't have
no boat or no bridge, I know the way. Faith said, Science,
you told me about the rocks and the stones. You might know how
old the earth is. You might know about the rocks
and the stones. But let me tell you, Science, you better know
about the rock of ages. Science, I saw the name of every
tree one by one. But before you know about all
the trees, you better know about the tree of life. You know about
the hollyhock, you know about the daisy and the daffodil, the
snapdragon, but you better know about the rose of Sharon and
you better know about the lily of the valley. They said, come
on now and stay behind me, son, because it's dark and I've got
to light the pathway so that we can walk. In all of our lives,
there comes a time. when you can be like size you
think you have all the answers but one day will come when you
come to a river that doesn't have no bridge and it doesn't
have no boat and there's going to come a time when you can't
see nobody or get nobody to help you no matter how many friends
you have on Facebook and no matter how many family members are in
your family and one day you're going to find yourself all alone
before the judgment seat of God given the account of all things
good and bad in your life and some of you are at the age to
know right from wrong. And you need to make a decision
this night to have faith in God, to ask Jesus to come into your
life, to help you to know how to get Jesus Christ into your
heart and life. Because he says, step out on
faith, the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen. There's one who's a friend to everybody. And in order to
ask Jesus to come into your life, you've got to have faith. You
know how I knew about faith? My mother showed me faith every
day when she was in front of me. She showed me what faith
was when you had little to next to nothing and you go in the
cupboard and you cook from scratch what was nothing and she made
something out of it. But I'm glad that she knew how
to distribute and to get by with little to next to nothing and
she raised three kids and I mean she did it very well. Amen. And so in order to ask
Jesus to come into your life, you've got to have faith. You've
got to step out on nothing and take God at his word. And the
Bible says, now faith is the substance of things hopeful.
Father, thank you for your word and thank you for your time in
the word that you've given us. all about creation, the first
things of creation. Lord, we give glory and honor
to you. And I pray that there's an old
lost sinner out there that's believing all the lies of a billion
and a million year old earth and evolution that it just banged
down and exploded. And Lord, what a big lie on top
of a lie, one lie after another. And so, Lord, I'm glad there's
truth in your word. And Lord, I pray that we speak
truth to those that listen tonight and many that will pass this
on to others in Jesus's marvelous mighty name. Amen. God bless
you. Thank you for tuning us in.
