The Ministry of the Son of Man

Instead, James and John ask Jesus if they can sit on his right and left when he receives the kingdom. As this middle section of Mark's gospel comes to a close, Jesus takes another opportunity to teach his disciples the nature of his ministry that they continue to miss: He has not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (10:45).
