Genesis 28:1-9 - Parents as Stewards

The favoritism shown by Isaac and Rebekah toward Esau and Jacob, respectively, led to lifelong issues in the family.

Parents are responsible for training their children not only to obey them when they are very young as if the parent were essentially God, but they are to consciously transition as the children grown and mature to passing them off to God directly.

This process may differ from child to child, depending on their maturity level, but it depends most upon the child's spiritual condition. The parents must point their children toward God, and children are never too young to learn about God and His revealed will.
