Testimony from God

Courtroom dramas have always been popular. The various witnesses each give a perspective on the truth, and often much is at stake. What if God Himself took the witness stand? The apostle John says that He has! We are used to weighing, and receiving, the testimony of human witnesses, but God's testimony is far greater because He always speaks the truth. He has spoken through prophecy, providence, and public declaration to affirm that Jesus is His beloved Son, the only source of salvation and eternal life. To deny God's testimony is to call Him a liar - a serious charge, indeed. Those who trust in God's testimony, now captured for us in the words of Scripture through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, have the Son and eternal life. Those who deny or dispute God's testimony will perish forever without the Son.
