The Wind Blows

The wind blows on the earth, and if it stopped it would be a great disaster. We find references to the wind throughout the Scriptures, and many times it is related to spiritual things. In fact, the very definition of "spirit" includes the concept of "wind" or "breath." The Scriptures make it clear that God is in control of the wind, and He uses it to bring necessary changes. Likewise, the Spirit works in our life to bring us to the knowledge of God, and to a closer walk with God. Sometimes it is a wonderful and pleasant experience, and sometimes it feels like it is going to blow us completely off the ship. Without the wind in our life we will never be what God desires for us to be. We can take comfort in the assurance that God is always in control and it is always for our good.
