The New Jerusalem - Part 2

As the Apostle John is given the vision of the New Jerusalem, he emphasizes two aspects of the heavenly city that more or less define it: the overwhelming presence of the glory of God, and those things that are missing because of the presence of God's glory. What God's glory makes superfluous include an eternal temple, the sun and moon, cycles of night and day, and anyone who is wicked. None of these will be part of the New Heavens and Earth in eternity.
