Children Need to Work

God created man to work. Work was ordained prior to the Fall and was part of what God said was good. Work is not a curse. Rather, the curse has made work more difficult. In the wisdom of God, work keeps us out of a lot of mischief. The need to provide for our own needs necessitates work. The need to work uses up a lot of the free time that we sinners would misuse if given too much of it. Children are no different. They need to learn to work and not be freeloaders. They need to learn to contribute. They need to have something constructive to do with their time. As parents, we need to employ them, not let them waste time watching TV and playing video games.
