Waiting on God!

So much of life can be described as 'Hurry up and wait." Whether it is waiting on one's spouse, waiting in a doctor's office, we spend a lot of time just waiting. But what do you do when you are waiting on God? Waiting for God to answer your prayer? Waiting on God for clear direction in life? What do you do as you are waiting on God. The apostles after Jesus' resurrection were told by Jesus that they were to wait in Jerusalem for the promised Holy Spirit. When Jesus ascended into heaven, the apostle did not know how long their wait would be. So, what did they do and we should do while waiting on God? First obey the commands you already have. They were commanded to wait, and that is what they did. Waiting was both a test of their obedience and their faith. Secondly, fellowship with other believers as you wait. 120 of them assembled in the upper room waiting together for God to answer. We need to surround ourselves with other believers as we wait on God. And thirdly, devote yourselves to prayer. Use waiting time as prayer time, communicating with God as we wait on Him.
