Worthy to Be Worshipped

The main idea of this psalm is "Wonderful Yahweh is worthy of our exuberant worship and service." All the earth is commanded to worship Yahweh, not just Israel, because of who he is: Creator, Owner, and Shepherd. We are to worship him with enthusiasm and vigor because he is good (as opposed to the pagan gods), his steadfast love is unfailing, and his faithfulness is constant. The highest place of worship is where God meets his people as they gather before him. The focus of our worship is immensely enhanced since Yahweh has come in the flesh to accomplish the redemption of his people in Jesus Christ our Lord - he is worthy of our supreme worship and dedicated service.
