The LORD Will Help

The people of God in the time of the exile to Babylon may very well have asked why God abandoned them or if He could rescue them. Here God inspires Isaiah to address both complaints by reminding them that they had broken the covenant - it was their fault they were where they were; and of course He could rescue them since He is the God of all creation. The LORD indeed will help even rebels as He uplifts His Servant, Christ, to fulfill His purpose in rescuing believers.
