Loyal to All the Wrong Things
We only touched the surface of some of the Warnings, Woes, Wows, and Wonders of God — through the prophet Micah.
When patriotism — being loyal to a way — becomes just another form of idolatry. Micah 1-3
The Jews, in Micah's day, were patriots to what they believed to be their primary way yet it was broad and broken. They had abandoned God a long time ago.
God's way is narrow… and any other gate, path, way, or principle is part of the broad life of idolatry.
There are ONLY two ways: The Lord's way or the way of the destroyer.
Who's way are we defending or declaring?
I love this testimony of David, he says;
"Concerning the works of men, by the word of Your lips, I have kept myself from the paths of the destroyer. Uphold my steps in Your paths, that my footsteps may not slip. I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God. Show Your marvelous loving kindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You." Psalm 17:4-7
Glory be, what a word and wisdom for life and how to walk in the Light of His truth and avoid the corruption of the destroyer and deception.
Samuel admonished them and us. Stick to the Lord and don't turn aside to follow the destroyer through the works that men contrive.
"Do not turn aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all of your heart. And do not turn aside; for then you would go after empty things which cannot profit or deliver for they are nothing." 1 Samuel 12:20-21
Yes, the path of the destroyer is simply the works or ways of men living without God...
David helps us and reminds us to stay with Jesus.
