Evidence for the Divine Inspiration of the Bible 06 – Daniel 11:1-4 Episode 168

492

On today's Youth Apologetics Training Podcast were going to start a new series examining the amazing prophecy in Daniel chapter 11. This prophecy is clear evidence of the divine inspiration of the Bible, as it accurately describes nearly five hundred years of Israel's history. Daniel 11 is so accurate that critics refuse to believe it was written by Daniel and will attempt to date it hundreds of years later.
How do we know Daniel wrote the book of Daniel?
• Jesus Says Daniel wrote Daniel. Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand…This quote is from Dan 9:27
• The Greek translation of the Old Testament, called the Septuagint, written around 200 B.C., includes the book of Daniel. This already proves that the book of Daniel was written before the prophecy of Daniel 11 was complete and long before the skeptics say it was written.
• Josephus wrote that Alexander the Great was presented the prophecy of Daniel, by the high priest, Jaddua that stated that the Greeks would overcome the Persians. This brings the date of the book of Daniel, before 330 B.C.
This prophecy was given to Daniel by the angel Gabriel after Daniel had fasted for 21 days. Gabriel detailed a long prophecy of what was going to happen in and around Israel for the next 490 years, leading up to the birth of Christ.

Dan 11:1 Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.
The time period of this prophecy begins during the first year of Darius the Mede, which was also the third year of Cyrus the King.
