Desert Storm and Christian Liberty

The desert of Iraq serves as the battle ground for the liberation of a people from a tyrannical despot. The desert of Sinai served as the testing ground for the liberation of a people from an imperial Pharaoh. Jesus Christ's death shows how seriously he takes liberation and freedom from sin and our bondage to the law. More Christians go astray in the area of Christian liberty than in any other area. Romans 14 is one of the most misunderstood and downright abused passages in God's word.

We are not to use our liberty as an excuse to sin. But neither are we to impose our own personal imperialistic laws upon other people. We may not create our own laws and bind them upon the consciences of others. Adn we must recognize the difficult words of this passage. in certain area of life, for one person something may be a sin. For another person that same thing may very well not be a sin. It is for freedom that Christ has set your free! And we are free to both partake or abstain from certain things depending upon the circumstances.
