“There Is No Maybe!” The Faithful Outcasts Pt.17

The sovereign God of the covenant swore by his name the impossible would come to pass. Even at an advanced age the seed of Abraham would be multiplied. When God decrees something, there is no maybe, it shall come to pass!
The Apostle explains the Lord gave this prophecy for our encouragement. Those who are children of Abraham, biologically and more important spiritually, would increase in number. The Abrahamic covenant would be fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ. All people have equal access to the mercy of God. God's oath and promise could not be broken.
The writer of Hebrews nails down his argument using the great Melchisedec to emphasize the peculiar Priesthood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through our great high Priest we have access to the throne of God forever.
