A Marriage Renewal
Blessings and grace to you. Can I share a nugget with you and your family? Lord willing it will help and also help explain a few things about the sweet joys of loving your spouse.
We and our faith family shared a marriage renewal with one of our Chapel couples and peeked into 1 Corinthians 7, so I taught on a thought from those truths. I believe you can glean a few nuggets for your day and marriage.
I'm no Greek guy, I struggle enough with English, but I do know Someone who can speak both, very well, and He's helped me with understanding His heart for marriage and ministering His truths to His people. So I'm going to pass on what He's shown me.
The Greek word used is: eunoia (yoo'-noy-ah/you-know-ah)
This word is translated various ways, depending upon the translations, as benevolence, affection, good will.
And its meaning has the idea of "being supportive and beneficial to meet what is needed in the life of the one you're delightfully rendering good will toward."
The way the Greek word is produced sounds very similar to, "You-know-ah." It sounds the way it means. And, as it is applied in a relationship, with a husband to his wife, implying this thought... "you — know — ah" or "you - know - her — better than any living creature" or toward the husband, "you — know — him — better than anyone else" so show them what you know as you love and support their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.
