The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul. Psalm 19 verse 7 makes clear what converts the soul. The law of the Lord converts the soul. Professor Martin Luther declared, the first duty of the gospel preacher is to declare God's law and to show the nature of sin. The first duty. John Bunyan, author of Pilgrim's Progress, wrote, the man who does not know the nature of the law cannot know the nature of sin. So that's why the law of the Lord is perfect. Charles Spurgeon, the prince of preachers, declared, they will never accept grace until they tremble before just and a holy law. Through the law we become conscious of sin. In Deuteronomy 6 we read, that you may fear the Lord your God to keep his statutes and his commandments which I command you. You and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, that your days may be prolonged. Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, that you may multiply greatly as the Lord God of your fathers has promised you, in the land flowing with milk and honey. Here's the most important statement in the Old Testament. Here, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And the most important commandment, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I commanded you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them to your children. Notice the first application of the most important command is education. Teach these principles to your children. You shall talk of them, talk of God's laws, when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, when you rise up. So Deuteronomy 6, one of the most important passages in the Old Testament, makes it crystal clear where to be talking about the law of God morning, noon, and night. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul. We need to convert people by bringing them to the law. Galatians 3.24 makes it clear, the law was our tutor, our schoolmaster, to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. So the Ten Commandments are absolutely foundational in evangelism and that's why Way of the Master of Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron have built their evangelistic training program around understanding the law of God and expounding the law of God. So let's just remind us of this important passage. Deuteronomy 20, verse 1 to 17. And God spoke all these words. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above, or on the earth beneath, or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me. but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and who keep my commandments. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you nor your son or daughter, nor your maidservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth. And all that is in him, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and he made it holy. Honor your father and your mother so that you may live long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife. You shall not covet his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor. This is the law of God. We made a simple poem to help, especially children, memorize the 10 Commandments. Above all else, love God alone. Bow down to neither wood nor stone. God's name refuse to take in vain. The Sabbath rest with care maintain. Respect your parents all your days. Hold sacred, innocent life always. Be loyal to your chosen mate. Steal nothing, neither small nor great. Report with truth your neighbor's deed and rid your mind of selfish greed. Our Lord Jesus made it clear, I do not think I've come to abolish the law or the prophets. I've not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappears, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen will by any means disappear from the law. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches others to do the same will be called least in a kingdom of heaven. But whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in a kingdom of heaven. So in a real sense we could say, for fast relief, take two tablets. The two tablets of the law will solve most, if not all, of the social problems we have. And so when people start complaining about it, well, we could solve our problems if we obeyed the Ten Commandments. Well, how do we go about that? Our Lord Jesus summarized the Ten Commandments in these words in Mark 12. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. And you shall love your neighbor as yourself. Now, how do you love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength? Well, by worshipping God alone, by never misusing His name, by never bowing down to idols, by remembering the Sabbath day to keep it holy. The first tablet of the law explains how to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And the second tablet of the law tells you how to love your neighbor. How do I love my neighbor? Don't steal his life. Don't steal his wife. Don't steal his good name. Don't steal any of his property. Don't bear false witness against him. Don't even be jealous, envious, or in your heart have covetous thoughts towards your neighbor. So the Ten Commands explains to you how to fulfill the greatest commands, to love God and to love your neighbor. And this plainly is our highest priority, to love God. And notice, the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. So what is the greatest sin? The greatest sin is to fail to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. And so if you've got somebody who's trying to suggest, I'm a good person, and I've obeyed all the laws, if there's such a person who can claim that, have you loved God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength? The Ten Commandments are not just sins of commission, they also deal with sins of omission. To fail to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength is a sin. You can't just say, well, I haven't broken this and that commandment. Gee, I'm a good person. I don't smoke, I don't steal, I don't do drugs, I'm not a homosexual pervert. Well, well done, but do you love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength? and do love your neighbours as yourself. It's not just the bad things that you don't do, it's the good things that you should be doing. And so sins of omission are very serious too. And when we're seeking to bring conviction of sin, you can also go that way. You can also summarise the second tablets of the law, do to others as you want them to do to you. And generally speaking, if you don't want someone to do it to you, don't do it to someone else. This would solve a lot of our problems, would it not? Jesus said, if anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. And to have a person saying, I'm a Christian, but they happily engage in theft or voting for parties that will steal for them, or if they're not committing murder, do they hate their neighbor? And many people who say, you know, I've never committed murder, when you ask people, have you ever killed someone, you often get this look of relief of, at last, a command I didn't break. And they can say, but Jesus said if you hate someone, it's like committing murder in your heart. Have you ever hated anyone? Yes, frequently, all the time. And so plainly, if you love me, you will obey my teaching. And the Lord Jesus was tougher than Moses. If you think Moses was tough, Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount made it much tougher. He said, you know, you were told don't commit adultery. I tell you, if you look with lust, you've committed adultery in your heart. And Jesus said, if you hate someone, it's like committing murder in your heart. So Jesus is much tougher than Moses. His Sermon on the Mount is much rougher than Mount Sinai's Ten Commandments. James 1 verse 25 says, But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty, who continues in it, who is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. So we've got to get people to not just be hearers of the word, but doers. Faith in action, you'll see we often use the boots, laced up boots as our symbol, because as we've got our front line, pull up on that side, the boots laced up, it's putting feet to our faith. It's not enough to have it in your head, we need it in our heart, and not just in our heart, but in our hands and our feet. Head, heart, hands. Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 repeat the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments is repeated twice in full, which just shows how important it is. Notice each command deals with a specific area. Each command includes a prohibition, you're not to do this and that. Each command includes an implicit right, and each command includes a call to action. Therefore the law is holy. The commandment is holy and just and good. Now, interesting, because I was at a church some years ago, and they had a communion service, and so part of the communion service requirement was to go through the whole Ten Commands. And this youth pastor had to read the Ten Commands, the whole Ten Commands, like we did earlier. And as he got there, he went, I'm glad we don't need to worry about any of that anymore. Yeah, so afterwards I went to this youth pastor. He's the kind of youth pastor who's always got his sunglasses propped up in his, not that you need sunglasses in the church, but he sort of stuck up in his hair, and I remember one of my kids walked around looking sloppy and doing something like that, and I said, What do you think you are now, a youth leader? I mean, youth leader is like a term of derision now because so many of them try to be so cool, and they're more concerned to look cool than to be biblical. And this chap literally despised the Ten Commands. So I waited until everyone had left, and he was standing by the door, and I said to him, what you said about the Ten Commands is very interesting. Which of the Ten Commands do you believe don't apply anymore? He said, well, none of them. I said, really? Can I worship other gods? No. May I bow before idols? He didn't think so. Can I take God's name in vain? No. May I desecrate the Sabbath? Yes, definitely. Okay. He was sure of that. May I commit murder? No. I said, come on, can't I at least vote for a political party that'll murder little babies for me? Well, he wasn't sure. Well, can I commit adultery? He didn't think so. Well, can't I at least enjoy watching films of other people committing adultery? Isn't it okay to at least, you know, lust? No, not at all. He didn't think so. So what about stealing? No, you can't steal. Well, can't I at least vote for political parties who will steal for me? He wasn't sure about that. Can I bear false witness against my neighbor? He didn't think so. I said, well, can't I at least enjoy reading history that bore false witness against people and lied about the past? Or enjoy reading newspapers that bear false witness and lie all the time? He wasn't sure about that. And what about covetousness? He wasn't sure. And I said, well, Don't forget virtually our entire advertising industry is built on covetousness. A lot of Hollywood films is built on encouraging you to covet. And at any rate, he reckoned the Ten Commandments don't apply. So I said, your position is not reformed. And he says, well, I'm not reformed. I said, but the Church of England is. And he said, no, it isn't. I said, yes, it is. He said, no, it isn't. I said, the 39 Articles And he said, what the hell is the 39 Articles? A Church of England news minister just graduated from George Woodshill College. What the hell are the 39 Articles? So I reached over to a pew, pulled out a blue prayer book, turned to the back and said, 39 Articles, the Foundation of the Church of England. Never heard of them. How is that possible that you've never heard of him if you've actually just finished graduating from college, a Church of England college? So anyway, I then pointed out to him on the wall, there was a plaque set up by Bishop Stephen Bradley, because Holy Trinity Church in Cape Town, which he was pastor at that time, had paid for the building in Pound. So there's the St. Andrew's Church of England in Pound, fully paid for by the, planting church, which was the Holy Trinity down in Cape Town. And Stephen Bradley had this plot in metal that this church is for the propagation of the gospel, evangelical and reformed, as contained in third-line articles of religion. And there it is in the wall. And he looked at it like he'd never seen it before, like, what's that doing there? Literally like a cornerstone of the church. And this is the kind of graduate you get out of colleges now, antinomian. Nomos, law, anti-nomos, antinomian, hostile to the law. Most ministers in the churches today are antinomian, they are hostile to the law of God. You've got people like Andy Stanley up there in America making a standard. We don't need any of the Old Testaments at all. And speaking about hostility to law, this is super popular now. Massive ministries have got huge coverage, millions of viewers on their TV channels and so on are promoting openly from the pulpit, we don't need the law of God. But what did Jesus say? Heaven and earth is gonna pass away before one part of God's law is gonna pass away. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul. So when we involve in evangelism, let's use the 10 commands as a means to reach a conscience. So we, every National Women's Day, and we've got this coming up again soon, 9th of August, we tend to set up displays in shopping malls where we're invited. For many years, we were able to go to Canal Walk and Somerset Mall until some hostile Individuals became in charge of the management of charities, so we're no longer welcome in many of the malls in the Cape, but there's still some of the smaller malls that let us come. And we set up display booths, and we've been for years handing out balloons with scriptures on them, like, the Bible is the greatest book ever written. Read the Bible every day. Give us this day our daily bread. The family that prays together stays together. National Women's Day, we would be mobilizing volunteers to distribute balloons to children and to offer free gifts of Bibles. And the children are always enthusiastic for the balloons. We stopped giving out balloons more recently because of the environmental impact. We don't want to encourage plastic pollution. So it was a nice tactic we used for years, but now we're trying to give other things out instead. But it was exciting to see these shopping centers filled with balloons with scriptures on them. And even an angry atheist can't snatch a balloon away from some kid. And so these were wonderful tools of evangelism. Even the Muslims were happy to get them. But the key of these whole displays was to get into evangelistic conversations. So we'd offer a free gift, a New Testament, to anyone who'd complete our survey. So we got a spiritual well-being survey. And we'd ask basically evangelism explosion questions, and then where the master questions. So things like, do you believe in God? How would you describe God? And then, how do you think we go to heaven? And if God was to ask you, why should I let you into my heaven, what would you answer? So you get questions like this. May I ask you, would you consider yourself to be a good person? And most people say, I'm a very good person. People aren't just good, they're very good. It's invaluable. And then you ask, would you mind if I ask a few questions to see if that's true? Well, we all tend to be willing to be self-justifying, so yes. May I ask you, how many of the Ten Commandments can you remember? Well, they can all remember things like don't steal and don't lie. And so you can say, have you ever lied? Yes. Have you ever stolen anything? No? Come on, you just admitted you're a liar. OK, yes, once long ago, when I was very young, something very small. Isn't that another lie? Yes, it is. Actually, I've done much more than that. Or you can ask, how many lines do you think you've told? And most people would say incalculable. Have you ever borrowed something and not returned it? Have you ever broken something and not replaced it? That's stealing as well. And so there's different ways to bring people to conviction. At this point, the person's probably taken the Lord's name in vain. They can say, now that's blasphemy, that's another very serious sin. Would you ever take your mother's name and use it as a swear word, as a term of disgust? No, never. Why not? Because I love my mother, I respect my mother. And you should. God gave you a mother and your mother gave you life. You should never misuse your mother's name. How much more should you never misuse your creator's name? And you can ask people, have you ever committed murder, and this is when people get relieved to say, no, that's the one sin I haven't done. Have you ever hated someone? Yes, no, frequently. What Jesus said, if you hate someone, it's like committing murder. By the way, in the Cape Flats, I frequently, when asking people, have you ever murdered someone, had people answer yes. It's a bit of a shock, but you meet some people who are gangsters, and some of the people are quite open about, yes, I've murdered people. And just to remind you that you really want to be sure you're right with God, and you've got the angels protecting you when you're out in some of the neighborhoods sharing the gospel. You want to ask the people also, do you think you've obeyed all the commands? So most people say yes. When you get down to things like, have you ever committed adultery? People squirm. And then you say, well, have you ever looked with lust? Now you've got just about everyone caught at this point. And by the way, we used to say to the men, have you ever looked at a woman with lust? And I've had some smart character saying, no. And I ask, are you homosexual? Yes. So that's why we've stopped having these... Have you ever looked at a woman with a lisp? Have you ever looked at anyone with a lisp? That kind of gets the LGBTQ crowd in Cape Town, which is a lot, basically. You bump into these people all over the place, certainly. But this is an opportunity to distribute gospel literature in the shopping malls, and we do it every National Women's Day, also on the streets, offering people new test rooms, they complete these questionnaires, and we don't let them complete, because they won't be as honest. It's better that you complete it, you ask the person the question, and write down the answer, because most people squirm. If you give the person a clipboard, most give up the moment you start asking things, have you ever lied to them, and then they put it down, they walk away. So the best thing is you've got to ask the question and hold their feet to the fire. Because somebody comes up with, no, I've never stolen anything. Or have you ever voted for a political party that believes in theft, who steals for you? Yes, and so on. So asking these tough questions on the streets is good. Sometimes all we can do is put gospel literature in people's hands, but that's good. That's sowing a seed. If the person takes and they rush off, OK, fair enough, he's on a mission, he's rushing, he doesn't have time to stop. But they might stop and say, what is this? Well, then you can get into a conversation. So the literature is a point of contact. The questionnaires, where you're offering something free if they fulfill the questionnaire, is an incentive to get into a good, deep conversation. And so these shopping malls, it's always easy to pick up the men in the shopping malls, because their wife's out shopping, and these poor guys are walking around looking absolutely lost. They don't know what to do with themselves. When I've gone shopping with my wife, I've always taken a book to read or a magazine, and sometimes proofreading, and every now and then, you know, what do you think of this? Yeah, no, it's good, and go back to proofreading. But these average men, they wander around absolutely lost. They don't know what to do. So while their wife's in, in this case, Edgar's, you can redeem the time and start interrogating, and get these people to get the point of recognizing, okay, I'm not really that good a person. Whenever you are out there in the shopping areas and you ask a person a question, they'll often say, I'm good. Even if you, whatever the question is, would you like some coffee? Can I help you? No, I'm good. Then you can say, but Jesus said no one is good. except God alone. And now you've had the opportunity because this Americanism of I'm good. That's the answer to almost everything. I'm good. Well, you can now introduce the subject of depravity of man and the holiness of God, our need for salvation. But Jesus said, no one is good. And I've had some people stop and say, you know, that's so true. And you've got the door open for evangelistic discussion. And of course, the goal is to lead people to Christ. We've actually had the chance to have people kneel in a shopping mall and lead them to Christ. It happens. And at the waterfront, many opportunities Now, some people, if you've got an artistic capability, like small Paul, as some may know, Paul Young, the American evangelist, he goes into shopping centres, prisons, schools, hundreds of schools a year, and now his son's following his footsteps, Tim, he's tiny Tim. This is small Paul, because he's so toweringly tall, and, you know, like Honest Abe. Small Paul. And he does evangelistic outreaches with Chalk Talks. He draws people to Christ. That's the name of his website, Drawing People to Christ. Literally using Chalk Talks and artistic skill, able to bring people to the Lord. So these are good tools that we can use as we seek to put feet to our faith. Now, in the Sudan, we've gone in using film evangelism. I find a perfect beginning for getting people exposed to the gospel is to show them a kerygma, a two-hour gospel of Luke, which is the Jesus film. And I've shown about 25 different languages over the years. We've got the Jesus film in at least 100 languages here. I think the Jesus film is translated into more than 3,000 languages available online. And so with our old 16mm projectors, and I've had some of our modern IT people come and look at our display cabinets and say, what's that? And I say, 16mm projector, what's that for? And we've cranked it up because everything in our cabinets actually are working. order, and we've cranked up the 16mm projector. In fact, when I was asked a while ago, I hadn't operated a 16mm projector in 20 years, but it all came back to me, you know, like riding a bicycle. And this chap was just amazed. This actually can screen films, and I think many of the modern generation have no idea the technology we use, which is why I've got a lot of old technology slide projectors and so on here. Had a webmaster come here a while ago and ask, what's that in the corner? And said, that's an overhead projector. What's an overhead projector for? Well, we used those a lot. Every church, every school had it for hymns, notes. I had absolutely roll on full, packed with kilograms of overhead transparencies, pictures, text. That was the technology when I was converted. And many people don't know of the old technology, so we've got some of it on display here. But this Jesus film is a perfect introduction to the gospel. We've got communities where they've never seen a film before, like the Nuba Mountains of Sudan. And you crank up the generator, you show the Jesus film at night. This is with generators and projectors, of course, there's no electricity. And so you've got to carry petrol, everything else with. when the people saw the depictions of the gospel in their language, like in this case, we're showing it in Moro and Arabic, and it was so impactful. And then at the end of this, we could often say, now you've seen the film, now come and meet the star and read his book. So we'd have the gospel of Luke in their language, Chechewa, Shawna, Ndebele, Shangaan, moral body, many different languages. And so, okay, you've seen the film, the Jesus film, now let's introduce you to the Lord. And so many people would stand, come forward, and we could have evangelistic crusades with these films. The other thing that's just great about the Jesus film is we could literally extend our ministry into evenings, because nothing goes on at night in these countries. There's no electricity. When the sun goes down at the end, everyone goes to bed. But if you've got a film to show, you can extend your ministry into the night. Many a time, I'd get to a village where we had no contact, and we'd show the Jesus film in a marketplace, something like that. And then afterwards, You'd get hordes of invitations from ministry and local schools and churches and so on, too. So it's a great beginning, using film evangelism as your first step. I strongly advise it. Of course, then we want to give people the Bible. And so our mission has distributed hundreds of thousands of Bibles in many languages all over Africa. And today, you can see at stores, Frank has distributing about 100 tons of Bibles and books every single year. And that's absolutely free from Liturgy for Africa. We've got a basic Christian teaching and training box set, which includes the whole Where the Master Training program. And it has a lot of EE in there as well. It's got the whole Bible MP3. MP3s for audio, including an entire audio Bible. And then the key videos on teaching the way of the Master. So, one of the problems we've got is a lot of fake Christians, fake converts, people who say, I am a Christian. Well, the first letter of John, the first epistle of St. John, gives you the marks of a true Christian. So, 1 John makes it clear, a true Christian confesses his sins. Doesn't conceal them, he confesses them. A true Christian keeps the Lord's commandments. A true Christian tries to walk as he walked, hates the world, remains in fellowship with the Lord. Practice is righteousness, does not practice sin. Yes, we do slip into sin, but it's a huge difference between slipping into sin, regretting it, hating it, repenting of it, and getting up again, and wallowing in sin. There's a massive difference between wallowing in it and just a true Christian hates sin and fights against sin. A false Christian gives in to sin all the time and loves the sin. There's a huge difference, Jeanette. We're not talking about perfection, we're talking about direction. A true Christian loves the brethren. And by this will all men know that you're my disciples, that you love one another. A true Christian submits to scripture. You don't have Christians saying, well, you know, I don't agree with that. You can be quoting the Bible to some people and say, I don't agree with it. Well, take it up with the author, please. I didn't write it, this is God's word. A true Christian has the spirit, and it is the Holy Spirit. And a true Christian confesses Jesus Christ is God. And a true Christian overcomes the world. It's again a big difference if we are worldly and we are in the world and we are of the world and we love the world and being in the world but not of it and resisting the world. We need to overcome the world. Every Christian should reexamine themselves in light of scripture to see, are you in the faith? It's not enough that we know the truth in the head, we've got to love the truth in the heart and we've got to practice the truth in our hands and feet. So, that's part of it. The law of the Lord is perfect. It converts the soul. Now Matthew 9 verse 37 says, the harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Do you know, statistically, less than 2% of churchgoers are practicing regular evangelism. And by regular evangelism, the statistics are like a couple of times a year. I don't think that's regular. I would have thought daily and weekly is regular. But statistically, less than 2% of churchgoers in the world are involved in evangelism. That's shocking. What a waste of manpower. The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. Christ's last command should be our first concern. In fact, does anyone remember what's Christ's first command? The first command of Jesus is, follow me and I will make you fishers of men. So the Lord's first and last command are basically the same. The first and last. Follow me, I'll make you fish of men. Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey all things whatsoever I command you, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And I will be with you always to the very end of the age. So his first and his last command are the same. Missions, evangelism, reaching the lost. We don't have enough evangelists. Now, the way to defeat the world is through attack, the best way of defense is attack, and we attack through evangelism. We win the lost at any cost. We put feet to our faith. And one of the tools we can use is gospel literature, the power of the printed page. To reach the many nations, we need the word of God in every language. The Lord gave the word. Great was the company of those who proclaimed it. And you just think back to Professor John Wycliffe, the Morning Star of the Reformation. He is one of the greatest professors of one of the greatest universities in the world, Oxford University. And he was the first man to translate the Bible into English. He didn't have the Greek and Hebrew, but he only had Latin. But he translated the Bible into English from Latin. And of course, it was handwritten just before the printing presses back in the 1300s. But Professor Wycliffe trained law lords. They're called Lollards because they sing in the marketplace. They'd sing the gospel and they would preach the gospel in the marketplaces. And these Lollards were the field workers of the Reformation. They were the pre-runners who sowed the seeds for the Great Reformation, which transformed the churches in Europe and later throughout the world. So, the Lord gave the word. Great was the company of those that published it. The written word can go where and when the human voice cannot. A taxi passing by, lots of people there, you can just, at a taxi rank this route, thousands of gospel booklets in a very short space of time can reach people who are going to suburbs and areas and homes you couldn't reach normally. And it's sowing the seed. Gospel literature is the most cost-effective way of proclaiming the gospel. And here we've got, for example, pallets of World Missionary Press gospel booklets. World Missionary Press has given us, according to their statistics, 10 million gospel booklets, which we have distributed through Frontline just in the last 30 years. But I was getting gospel booklets from WMP before 1991, when their records of us began. But we'd be getting gospel booklets from other missions that received them from World Missionary Press. But from 1991 we've been a major recipient and distributor of World Missionary Press. We're the regional distributors at the moment. And so now their statistics show we've already distributed 10 million gospel booklets. And these are 50 pages, it's all scripture, so these gospel booklets, like help from above, all scripture, 50 pages, and in each box you've got 500. So one box, 500 gospel booklets. Each pallet there's about a ton. And we get about two million a time when these container shipments come here. And we've got another one in route, which we'll be able to empower many churches with the ministry tools they need. Now, this always has space at the back for a church to put their address. They could rub a stamp on their church address and use it for church planting. You go and plant these in every home around your community so that people know about your church. If they give their lives to the Lord, brings conviction, they've got a contact address, a local contact address that they can follow up to. So you could put an invitation to join your church as a stamp on the back of the gospel booklets and use it for your church planting. Now, no church can say we don't have ammunition. The ammunition's there. and Frank at Literature for Africa can supply you with what you need, and we can get into streets, we can get to the beachfronts and the marketplaces. Literature has no passport or visa problems. We have visa problems and passport problems, but literature does not. Literature knows no fear. Now, we've known fear in the field. Now, courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is the willingness to do your duty in spite of your fear. Or as John Wayne put it, courage is being afraid but settling up anyway. Nice way of putting it. Literature never loses its temper. Sorry to say, we sometimes have been, you know, when you're being harassed in hot climates and you've been sick and the rooster's kept you awake since two in the morning and there's been noise all night and bonga drum's going and you can't get to sleep and you're exhausted, you're tired, you're feverish, delirious, and yes, there are times that we have lost our temper, but praise God, the literature never loses its temper. It never gets tired. It can never be discouraged. It can tell its story over and over again. Praise God for gospel literature and the power that prints a page. After an outreach, is a perfect time to distribute literature. You can have the person who's preaching openly, and then afterwards people handing out literature. Or, at your church, visitors have come on their way out, they see this literature table, their stands, and they can take gospel literature, and that'll take the work much further. Praise God for gospel literature. It is the power of the Word of God that makes all the difference. Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the Word of God. I'm not ashamed of the gospel. It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. And so all over Africa, we've been distributing gospel literature, and it can be received, read, and studied in secret. Muslims are happy to receive gospel literature. We've had these women in the shopping malls coming in their big black tents and asking for a tract, and it disappears under this big tent, and they can read it in secret back home. Praise God, we can reach homes that are closed to us. It never compromises. If it's a biblical message like the World Nursery Press Gospel literature, it's the scripture. It does not compromise. The written word is more permanent than the human voice. The voice may get a bit faded, but the printed page, the weakest ink is stronger than the strongest memory. The written word is more permanent than the human voice. So when the pastor's finished preaching, he wants to encourage his people to take some of the gospel booklets, to get a new test for them, to start reading, to start the practice of reading the Bible every day. A drop of ink may make a million think. So that's where we stand. Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God. Do you have gospel booklets or scripture to distribute to those you encounter on a daily basis? If you don't, we can rectify that today, right here. For I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. The power of God is in gospel literature. Are you regularly giving gospel booklets to friends, strangers, co-workers, neighbors? The Word of God is living and powerful. It's sharper than any double-edged sword. It pierces even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow. Literature, the Word of God, can be a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart. So stock up on spiritual ammunition. We're involved in a world war of worldviews. This is a battle for hearts and minds and souls. And what we do now can influence eternity. These are just some of the tracks you can find here. We've got liturgy stands all over at Livingston House. And at stores, Liturgy of Africa, you can be given boxes of gospel liturgy. But you can pick up some samples. And we've put a liturgy table out here just for you to equip yourself from here, too. So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall not return to me void. It shall accomplish what I please. It shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55 verse 11, you should think of as like an arrow or bullets. But it's more than that. It's actually a guided missile. The Word of God can be like a cruise missile. It will infallibly reach what God wants to reach. You know, we've had people writing to us back when we had a postal service at work. They picked up one of our tracks in a dustbin in Venda. And here's this person, he saw this interesting looking thing, he picks it out of the dustbin, somebody threw it away, and we don't even know how it got there to vendor. And next thing this person's writing, give us life to the Lord. It's a wonderful thing. Gospel literature is able to reach people's souls. You know, somebody gets literature that we gave at a traffic light, and the parent or whatever just put it on the counter in the car dashboard, It gets home, someone ends up inside the home on some table, a teenager picks it up and they contact us. And not even the person who gave it to is the one that responded, but someone else, after the person discarded it. We have an opportunity for evangelism coming up soon. National Women's Day, Friday, the 9th of August, we regularly have missions in the mall or street evangelism. We're going to be going in Seaport Promenade, Beachfront, at Table View, Plumstead, there's all kinds of outreach is planned. We've got some shopping centers that have opened up for us too, and we're looking for volunteers for distributing literature. And if you feel confident, which you should do after this morning's program, to counsel people in salvation, because we're still going to get to the details of how to do that, you will have the privilege of being able to lead people to Christ there. Many a time, we've had shopping malls actually let us get in to charity book sales. This is in Cavendish Square, a very upmarket place in Claremont. And for years, we had the chance of selling books and Bibles and history and gospel at shopping centers. And so we've also got coming up next week, Wednesday, another seminar, Home Educators Workshop for South African History. But you don't have to be a home educator to attend, but it's designed especially for them. We're dealing with South African history. And then the women's outreach is coming up on 9th of August. All of these you can read about on our website, frontlinemissionsa.org. Are there any questions, complaints, criticisms? Yeah, I just want to note when you started with the reminders, when Moses came down the mountain at first, and the tablets broke in two, was it in that order that the tablets broke? We believe so because it was repeated and God gave more tablets and of course we've got it twice in the Bible in full in this order which is both Deuteronomy 5 and Exodus 20. Yes, no, no, oh no, the first tablet is our duty to God. It's the first four commands is on the first tablet, and the next six are on the second tablet. So unfortunately many churches, I think just for space, put five on one side, five on the other, but actually it's duty to God, and then duty to man. That's how that works, yes. We've got, yes? Is this a question, I know you've used We've used the Jesus form the most, but I've even shown the Passion of the Christ, which is super powerful in a Muslim country. And so I've shown that in Sudan, too. And Muslims are thrilled to get the... passion of Christ, because they heard it's anti-Semitic, which it isn't, but that just is the best promotion in a Muslim country. So the Jesus form is banned in most Muslim countries, but the passion of the Christ can be shown in cineplexes in Dubai, it's not a problem, because Hollywood went berserk attacking it, and because the Jewish media attacked it, now you've got the Muslims saying, well, you know, who can ban something the Jews don't like? So, next thing you know, the passion of Christ, they all want to see. How wonderful how even the lies and slanders of Hollywood were used to advance the gospel.
