The Day of the Lord is the theme of Joel's book. It refers to a day that has both judgement and blessing. The nation of the Israel was experiencing judgement from an invading army of locust. God's desire was for repentance from His people. One day in the future there will be the great and terrible Day of the Lord where the nations will be judged but those that turn to God will be saved.
