This is How to Test for Truth

This text is not everything about the subject, or the last word on the subject, but it is foundational to the subject. This is biblically based instruction on this subject from this text of scripture, and it does give us some tremendous boundaries we can apply universally. These aren’t the only tests for truth, but if something fails to meet these primary tests, it fails to meet the biblical standard for spiritual truth. There are a lot of things claiming to be or bring us spiritual truth, but the Bible is the Christian’s authority, and it warns us in many places about false religion, experimenting with occult practices, looking for secret knowledge and such. The Holy Spirit never offers opposition to the biblical Christ, but instead always promotes submission to the biblical Christ. The Holy Spirit leads us to right doctrine and right devotion. If something leads us away from the biblical Christ or away from loving, worshipping, following, or trusting the biblical Christ it is not from the Holy Spirit. It is not from God.
