The purpose of The LORD God was to destroy Babylon, in order to uphold His covenant promise to His people.
- God does not forsake His people, but rather takes action to defeat our enemies and to vindicate us! (v.1-11)
- God takes differentiating action because God and we are everything to one another; He is our portion, and we are His inheritance! (v.12-24)
- The LORD's purposes stand - both against Babylon and for His people. (v.25-33)
When God is admitting people, what will happen to us?
The world is passing away; what about us? Mt. 3:12, 1 John 2:17
Who has all the authority and strength? 1 Cor. 1:25, Ps. 137:1-9
Why is there vengeance for God's temple? Rev. 11:1-19
