When God Stinks…
They wanted to rid themselves, their homes, and their lifestyle of all things God.
"God is gonna be to them like a moth and something rotten. When you think about a moth, it's twofold. One, what God's gonna do among them, like a moth, what does a moth do? If you had moths in your closet, what would a moth do? But they eat it, what, silently? They eat it steadily, slowly, but surely over time, what's going to happen? They're going to consume the garment. Take a while, but it's going to happen. What does rottenness or cancer do? Cancer goes to work inside. It's normally slow. It's malignant. So it just eats you away on the inside a lot of times before you even know. We all know people who it just eating them away before they even knew it was eating them away. And it gets to a point where it just consumes them. Well, God says, that's what I'm gonna be to you. And the reason I am, you always go back to certain principles. David helps us with this in both Psalm 18 and in 2 Samuel 22. He says, God, with the merciful, you show yourself merciful. With the pure, you show yourself pure. To the humble, you show yourself as being humble. But he said, with the shrewd, the twisted, you show yourself in a twisted way to them. And this is what happens. They see the things of God like a moth. If you were in the house and you saw moths flying around, what are you gonna try to do? Are you gonna kill them? Get them out of the house. You're gonna rid yourself of them. If there was rottenness, if you had a sore and it was festering and rotting, what were you gonna try to do? You're going to try to get rid of it. You're going to try to put some peroxide on it. You're goi
