Let's take our Bibles tonight for a few minutes and Go with me if you would we're gonna we're gonna go to the passage of Scripture that we kind of ended up with this morning And I don't know if you would really want to call this a follow-up or not But it's kind of interesting as I got to thinking about it later I thought well this is kind of interesting compared to the message the Lord gave me this morning Genesis chapter 18 and And this is going to be an interactive service, OK? So I need everyone's, I need 100% participation. You will be tested at the end, OK? And we'll be graded. No, but we're going to start in Genesis 18. Hold your finger there. We're going to do the same thing that we did, well, I don't know if we did it at the beginning. But we're going to go over to Jeremiah chapter 32. for tonight, okay? So Genesis chapter 18, hold your finger there, and then we're going to go over to the book of Jeremiah chapter 32. We're going to look at just a couple of scriptures here, because the question that we want to ask, the title of the message is simply this. Is anything too hard for the Lord? It's a rhetorical question. We know that it's not, don't we? We know that in our head, but do we know it in our heart? So let's take a look, if we might, at Genesis chapter 18 and verse 14, then we'll have a word of prayer. And that starts out with what? Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed, I will return unto thee according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. Now we know the story here. How Sarah laughed that she could, how in the world could she have a child? And she was barren and at her age, she couldn't have children. And then she denies it. It's like, it's an interesting account. And so then God asks this question, is anything too hard for the Lord? Let's pray together. Father, we know that nothing's too hard for you. And Lord, we know that you are the doer of all that you say. You're the great creator who spoke this world into existence, the galaxy, the universe. All that is, you are the creator of. And so Father, tonight we come together just to be around your word, to hopefully be an encouragement to one another, but yet Lord, to see, to see what it is that you can do and to be able to just rest in you, how we can truly take every burden of ours to the Lord and leave it there. And sometimes, Father, for us, leaving it there is hard. Sometimes we'll come to the altar and we'll try to leave it there, but Lord, we get up and take it with us. Oh, Father, we don't want to do that tonight. Just help us to bring them to you, to give them to you, and to leave them with you. Bless our time. Bless these dear folks once again, Father. Thank you so much for them. Pray your blessing upon them. Ignite them, Lord. Enlarge their coast. Send them forth in a great way, doing a great work for you in this community and around the world. Again, Lord, pray that you'd be with Pastor and Cindy as they're on vacation. Bless them, Lord, I pray. Give them rest. Refresh them and bring them back safely, we ask in Jesus' name. Amen. All right, so we have a question. The question is, is anything too hard for the Lord? Okay, Genesis 18, 14. The answer to that question, flip over to Jeremiah chapter 32, and look with me, if you would, at verse 17. Jeremiah chapter 32, and look at verse 17. And notice what it says there. 32 17 ah Lord God Behold thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm and there is nothing too hard for thee Nothing too hard So when I ask the question, is anything too hard for the Lord? Your participation comes in and the answer is what? No, there is nothing too hard for thee. Right? Isn't that what the verse says? Nothing too hard for the Lord. See, I didn't even get it right. Okay. Is there anything too hard for the Lord? No, there is nothing too hard for thee. I was right. All right. So let's practice that. Can we? All right. Here's the question. Is anything too hard for the Lord? Can you say it louder? Do we believe it? Let's try it again. Is anything too hard for the Lord? No, nothing. You're not done yet, folks. There is nothing too hard for thee. And it's not a one word answer. Let's try it again. One more time. You can do it. I know you can. Ready? Is anything too hard for the Lord? No. There is nothing too hard for thee. How many of you believe that? Okay. Then we need to show it, don't we? By word and by deed. in how we live our Christian lives, all right? Okay, you got the answer, right? I mean, I even gave you the answer, all right? The full answer. Nothing's too hard for thee. So here we have the all-important question, but we have the thrilling answer from the inspired word of God. Isn't it neat how God asks us the question, but he also gives us the answer in his word? There are at least seven great questions asked in Genesis chapter 18. These are found, and I'm not going to go through them all, but these are found in verse 9, verse 12, verse 13, verse 14, verse 17, verse 23, and 25. Any of these would make a great text for a sermon. For instance, meditate on the question in verse 23, will thou destroy the righteous with the wicked? Or maybe the one in verse 25 that says, shall not the judge of all the earth do right? Important questions, but I wanna focus. I wanna look at tonight carefully, is anything too hard for the Lord? We started in Genesis 18. Abraham here, God promised them, he and Sarah, a son. And we know the story, don't we? And as we look back in chapter 18, we find what's going on. Look back up, if you would, at verse 9. And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life. And, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent which was behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well-stricken in age, and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore, Sarah, what? Laugh. That laugh was as a result of what? Unbelief. Right. And you know what? Sometimes we do that same thing. We're no different. She laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old, shall I have pleasure, my Lord, being old also? I mean, I'm not only old, but look at Abraham. He's old too. We're beyond those years. Verse 13, And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh? In other words, he's saying, why did your wife laugh? Shall I of a surety bear a child which I'm owed? Is anything too hard for the Lord? This is not even impossible. All things are possible through Christ. Nothing is possible without him. Look at verse 15, Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not, for she was afraid. Not only did she not believe God, but she lied on top of it. And he said, Nay, but thou didst laugh. And it goes on there. But we see that, don't we? We have Abraham as an example. We have Elisha, when God translated Elijah and Elisha. Wouldn't leave aside, remember, and ask for a double portion? Elijah, I will not leave you until God blesses me. And several times, Elijah goes forward, okay? And Elisha is right on him. And he said, you go back. Now, Elisha said, I am not going back until you bless me. And he stuck with him. Why? Because Elijah believed God. And in the end, what happened? He received a double portion of what Elijah had. Was it Elijah who really had it? No, it was the power of God upon Elijah's life. And Elijah received a double portion of God, we could say. Of what he had given to Elijah. Five things come to us out of this text tonight. in Genesis chapter 18. Five simple things. Go back with me, if you would, to Numbers chapter 23. We're gonna come back to Genesis 18 on and off probably, but go back with me to Numbers chapter 23 and look at verse 19. God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent. This is a declaration from God. He says, God is not a man. And not only that, that he should lie. Neither the son of man that he should repent hath he said, and shall he not do it. When he speaks, he does what he says. Or hath he spoken and shall he not make it good? In other words, does not God keep his word? Most definitely! And he has kept it from eternity past and will for eternity future. And one of the blessings that I see in salvation is the very fact and the promise from God that will not be broken. Is that I don't have to get saved every day. You know, there are some out there who believe that. You do wrong, you lose your salvation. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. That's not what the Bible says. The Bible says that once I come to Christ and I profess Him as my Savior, I become His child and I am His child forever through the blood of Jesus Christ. I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, as Fanny Crosby said in her song. Redemption is for good. It's forever. The Bible says that we are sealed until the day of redemption. That day is when we see Jesus. I can stand in the flat palm of God's hand and no man can pluck me out of the open palm of the hand of God. That is our God. Number one, there is no promise too hard. for God to fulfill. You believe that? There is no promise too hard for God to fulfill. Oh, the promises of God when we read his word. God sometimes says some things in the word of God that he did not say directly to me due to the context of the scripture, but God never uttered one word in the Bible that he did not say for me and for you. Oh, but that's Old Testament. Oh, yeah, it's Old Testament, it's New Testament, but it's all for us. What do the promises of the blessed word mean to you? Philippians 4.13, if I quote that off the top of your head, what's that say? Philippians 4.13, it's a promise of God to his children. Philippians 4.13, I can do what? There you go. I can do all, don't be bashful, just shout it out. If you're wrong, you're wrong. No big deal, because we all don't get them all right all the time, you know. Philippians 4.13, I can do all things for Christ, which strengthens me. So what's Paul saying to the church at Philippi? He's saying your strength and my strength come from God alone. With God, all things are possible. Without God, nothing is possible. But do we, I have to come back to this, do we believe that? Yes, we believe it in our head, but has it gone down that 18, 12, 18 inches to our heart? And we literally believe that in our heart. What do the promises of the word of God mean to you and me? Philippians, again, same chapter, Philippians 4, verse 19. But my God will what? Supply all your needs to his word, right? He will supply all. We can do all things. Listen, God doesn't do anything halfway. Neither should we, on God's behalf. He'll take care of us. He's promised that. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, Matthew says, and all these things shall be added unto you. What things? Don't get it wrong now. The all things shall be added unto you are not the every things that are not. All things shall be added unto you. It's not necessarily all the things that we want and desire. It is the needs that we have that God will take care of us. But what do we have to do? Seek first the kingdom of God. Talked about that this morning a little bit, didn't we, in seeking. All these things shall be added unto us. And you know what? When our relationship with Christ draws closer and closer to Him, and our mind is in the mind of Christ, let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. So when our minds and our relationships are together, then our desires are going to be what God desires. It'll be a big difference in our lives. Big difference. I never Try to preach the word of God without claiming the great promises. Especially for God's wisdom in sharing his word. If any of us lack wisdom, let him ask of God. Because God gives it freely, liberally. And I thank him for that. And really we should not do anything in our lives unless we talk to God about and seek God's wisdom for it. Let me put it that way. And the promises of God to folks are just as sure today as they have always been. There are people out there who are trying to deny Christianity, who are trying to make things hard on believers, and frankly they are. But we're in the minority, we always have been, and we always will be. But let me tell you this, you and God make a majority in any community. It's pretty simple. Is anything too hard for the Lord? Back up. Is anything too hard for the Lord? I'll help you. Is anything too hard for the Lord? I know I did it, you didn't expect it, right? Is anything too hard for the Lord? No, nothing is too hard for thee. Good. By the end of the message, we'll have it. Amen, amen. Number two, there is no prayer too hard for God to answer. There's a lady in our church where I pastored, I think it was, what, 40 years? She prayed for her husband to come to Christ. Her husband did not come to Christ until he had... had severe heart attack and had coded. And my wife and I are volunteer fire in EMS and we were running at the time, but I was also pastoring. And his wife went to my church, he was unsaved. And she had been praying for him for 40 years. He had a heart attack, they took him to the ambulance, he coded five times before he got to the hospital. In other words, they had to bring him back. And they got him to the hospital, and I think it happened a couple of more times while he was there. It was to the point that by the time I got to the hospital, I was not on the ambulance, but we went in to be with his wife and to be with him. And I had the privilege of leading him to the Lord on his bed. The man couldn't talk. He'd been witnessed to many times. He'd been witnessed to by one of my uncles. And For 40 years, she had been praying for her husband to come to Christ. Literally, this man was on his deathbed. He could not talk, but he could understand, knew everything that was going on, and he could squeeze my fingers to answer my questions. Right? Squeeze my hand to answer his questions. Answer my questions. And he came to Christ. 40 years! How many of us would have given up That's just one example. And folks, you know what? There are many other examples out there. There is no prayer too hard for God to answer. When God, I believe, is going to do something wonderful, He starts with a difficulty. When God is going to do something very wonderful and miraculous, He starts, I think, with an impossibility. You know why? Because man has to know that it is a God thing, that man can't do it. How many times have doctors seen miracles in the hospitals, many of which would not credit it as a miracle of God, but there are some great Christian physicians that will credit the miracle that it was God alone, only God, who could have saved that person from that illness or that accident or whatever case it may have been. May I ask you a question? When's the last time, you don't need to verbalize an answer, but when's the last time that God answered a prayer for you? When's the last time God answered a prayer for you individually? Some Christians have to go back five years, six months. I don't think we should have to go back too far in order to tell about God specifically answering a prayer. You know, we pray that God would take care of us, right? Every day. And people who get bent out of shape about this sometimes, and I've said this before in messages, but about people not being blessed. And I was like, everybody, inhale. Go ahead, inhale. You have to do it anyway. And exhale. When was the last time you were blessed? When was the last time God answered a prayer for you? 15 seconds ago. We're not promised the next breath. We are blessed beyond measure, and our prayers are not too hard for God to answer. So the question too is, is this, have we learned to claim the prayer promises? They're there for a reason. We use Jeremiah 33, 3 this morning. Call unto me, God says. It's a direct call. Call unto me and I will answer thee. Now God might answer in one of four ways. He might say, no, not now. That's when we become children and say, well, why not? You know, I want it now. We want things immediately, don't we? That's when we started getting instant grits. I don't know about you, I love grits, but I don't like instant grits. You know, because they're not... Anyway. But, you know, we've come to this point of an instant society. We want everything, we want it right now. You see? No, it doesn't work that way. He says, but call to me and I'll answer them. It might be no, not now. It might be no, because I love you too much. You ever tell your children that? No, because I love you too much. And the reason we say no, because I love you too much is because we know of the harm that could take place. You know, Mom, can I touch this hot stove? No. Yeah, go ahead and touch it, Johnny. See what happens. No, we don't do that, do we? No, don't touch the stove. Why? Because you're going to get burned. No, because I love you too much. He might say, yes, I thought you'd never ask. You know, sometimes we just wait for our kids to ask, don't we? You know, there's times I want ice cream. All of our kids are grown and gone now, but there's might be a time when I want ice cream, but we probably can't go get ice cream. But if one of the kids would ask me if we could go get ice cream, then I would ask Mandy if we could go and get ice cream. Sometimes we just want them to, sometimes God just wants us to ask him. He knows what we want. He just wants us to approach him and to ask him. But then he might say, yes, and here's more. It's those blessings on purpose. It's what we might call, we sing the song, showers of blessing. The mercy drops around us are falling. Oh, what an awesome God we serve. Have we learned to claim those? Listen, we have to understand that God Almighty is not limited to circumstances. He's not bound. See, we don't think in the frame of mind as God does. God is in the realm of no time. Can you fathom that? I cannot fathom that. You know, my dad went to be with the Lord in 2002 as a result of leukemia. He was saved. He's actually a member of my church. My oldest sister went to be with the Lord in 2005. Something like that, I think. She was saved too. Her husband was a pastor, and they're both in heaven now. My mom is there. My dad is there. I have other relatives that are there, have been there for years. But you know what? The minute that I step into heaven to see them, the very minute that I step into heaven to see them is going to be like the very minute that they stepped into heaven as well. Because there's no concept of time. We are living in the ever-present time. That's cool. That's going to be neat. Oh, you know, we sing the song, oh, that will be glory for me. Oh, yeah, we've got a lot to look forward to. A lot to look forward to. But God's not limited to circumstances. Let's see. It's God's way out. It is the way that God has intended for us. And we must follow Him to the end. Claim the prayer promises. Is anything too hard for the Lord? No, no. Okay, here we go. Ready? Is anything too hard? This is cool. I'm enjoying this. I hope you're having fun too. And there's nothing wrong with having fun in church, as long as it's the right kind of fun. Is anything too hard for the Lord? No, nothing is too hard for thee. The point, folks, I'm trying to drive into our hearts and our minds is that point. There is nothing too hard for the Lord. And sometimes we pray, and we pray, and we pray, and nothing's evident, nothing's happening. Joseph spent 20 years in prison after his brothers sold him into slavery to the the Midianites and he goes into slavery and nothing we even find in Joseph's life. We find nothing, no mention of God during this time until the end. And we might think, you know what? Well, nothing's happening. God was working in the background in Joseph's life for him to take over and be second under Pharaoh in order to take care of his family during the time of famine. Listen, just because we can't see God working doesn't mean he's not working. Right? And so we have to believe that and we have to understand that. Number three, there is no problem too hard for God to solve. A lot of times we think they are, don't we? So we kind of want to help God. Lord, I, you know, I think I've got the answer. So I'm going to go ahead and answer this question for you. No. Let God answer it. There's no problem too hard for God to solve. I had a guy come to me in my church one time, and he said, Preacher, I think you ought to preach on this and this. And he was implying about some other people in the church. And I said, well, I said, I could. I said, you know what, though? I said, I think it's better that we let the Holy Spirit do the work. I said, I can beat people up with the Bible. I can beat people up spiritually. But I cannot take the ointment of the Holy Spirit and put it on and heal them as the Holy Spirit can. In other words, I'm simply saying this, I can't do the work of the Holy Spirit. Only He can do it. And so we have to be really careful. Yeah, there might have been a problem, but who am I? I have to give the Word of God as God tells me to give it. And so I said, I think it's best that we let the Holy Spirit do the work. No problem too hard for God to solve. Everyone gets into tight places, don't we? Hard problems. Gideon did. Amazing how Gideon won that battle with 300 men. Abraham did. Moses did. Paul did. I mean, you're talking about men who were called of God, but yet at the same time you're talking about men who were just like you and me. Moses committed murder, and yet God still used him. Paul beat and persecuted and killed Christians, yet God saved him out of that and continued to use him. And both of these men have books in the Bible penned by them. What about Peter? Peter's the same thing, you know, and we're awful hard on Peter, but we're a lot like him. But yet again, God recommissions Peter, and Peter goes forth and pens two epistles that bear his name. Any believer, if he attempts something for God, I believe he's gonna come at some point in time to a great crisis in life. And some of you may already have, I don't know. But no problem is too great. for God to solve. Go back to the book of Psalms and look at Psalm 37. Psalm 37, if you will, and look with me there at verse 3, starting at verse 3. Well, I tell you what, let's back up to verse 1 in Psalm 37. Psalm 37 and verse 1. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, Now, I think that some of us as believers have already been doing that because of what we see politically in the world today and what's happening. And we know that a lot of it is corruption. We know that a lot of it is evil. But again, we have to remember that question in Scripture that is anything too hard for the Lord? And that answer is no, there's nothing too hard for thee. No, nothing. Too hard for thee. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. Oh, it may look like they're becoming famous and they've got all of these accolades and all of these things are going their way. They have their reward here. What does it say in verse 2? For they shall soon be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herb. Can I say this? God's going to have the last say. And if they continue in the condition that they are, and on the route that they are, it's not going to be a pretty end for them. And we know that. Verse 3, trust in the Lord. Trust in the Lord. And do good. So shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. God will take care of you. Verse four, delight thyself also in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. The desires of my heart, and as I said earlier, as I develop a relationship with Christ, our desires will turn out to be what the desires of God are. Verse five, commit, commit. Now that's not a word we hear a lot of today is commitment, genuine commitment. Commit thy way unto the Lord. Trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass. Believe him, and he'll do it. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Verse 7. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him. Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Wow. Trust, delight, commit, rest. There's a lot that we can do in the Lord. No problem is too great for God to solve. You know, as preachers, sometimes preachers get discouraged. But I expect preachers to believe that God can solve their problems. You know, if we preach without enthusiasm, if we preach without God, let me put it that way first. If we preach without God, then we're gonna preach without enthusiasm. We'll be preaching without victory, without encouragement in our own souls. What do you think the end result's gonna be? Is our people are gonna follow in the same path. Delight thyself also in the Lord. Be exuberant in Christ. Be thrilled that you have a Savior who loves you and who's willing to use you and work with you and remold you if necessary in order for us to be used in His service. Lord, what do you want me to do? When was the last time? Lord, how do you want me to serve? God help us to believe today that nothing is too hard for him. Is anything too hard for the Lord? No. Nothing is too hard for thee. Okay. Very good. You're getting better. Four. There is no place where God cannot send a revival. We talked about this this morning. No place where God cannot send a revival. I'm told that in the Great Welsh Revival, the people did four things. In the Great Welsh Revival, people did four things. One, they condemned sin in themselves. Humble yourself, 2nd Chronicles 7.14. They condemned sin in themselves. Two, they completely obeyed God in every matter. Three, they had a compassionate burden for others. Without that, it's not going to work. And four, they prayed. Again, 2nd Chronicles 7.14, and many others on prayer. You know, sometimes we try everything except God's way. God has given us another chance, if you will. Chance after chance after chance. He has individually to us, and I think he has nationally. The question is, is what are we going to do with it? We try all the advertising in church, you know, for church. We try to get people to realize what a great preacher is coming in. We try to get, you know, we publicize, we organize, we do everything. We do all of these things, but we don't agonize before God in prayer and claim God's promises. Pray through the word. You see? Listen, there is no place on earth that God cannot send revival. We talked about, I'm not going to go into that, we talked about that this morning. God help us to believe that there's nothing too hard for him. Is anything too hard for the Lord? No. Nothing is too hard for thee. Nothing! That's what nothing means. Not a single thing. Number five. There is no person too hard for God to save. No person too hard for God to save. I've known some hard people. When we lived in West Virginia, there was a postmaster in a little town called Baker. It was just a small town. Didn't have a stoplight or anything. Had a store and a gas station. Had a bank. Might have had a fire company. Might have been a couple of other things. Postmaster was one of the hardest men I've ever talked to. And he never came to Christ, and he would never want to hear. To this day, he's dead now, but I don't believe he ever came to the knowledge of Christ. Man, where I used to work in the world in an industrial company, While I was pastoring, I worked full-time bivocationally. He didn't want any part of religion, what they called religion. You know, people will say to you, well, I think that's pretty personal when you ask them about heaven and about going to heaven. You know, my answer is simply this. You're right. It is pretty personal because it's all about you. And you're going to make a decision about Christ one way or another. It's going to either be for him or against him. You're going to either accept him or reject him. You're going to make that decision one way or another. What's it going to be? Religion has nothing to do with it. No person for God is too hard for God to save. Paul, who knew it all. The Apostle Paul. Saul of Tarsus, who had it all. Interesting. If you go back with me to a couple of scriptures here, go to Philippians chapter 3. Philippians chapter 3, if you would, and verses 4 down through verse 6. Paul had it all and Paul knew it all. Paul was probably a part of the Sanhedrin, the ruling body of the Pharisees. He had it all and we see that in scripture and as a matter of fact in Philippians 3 here verse 4 through 6 Paul tells us all about that Now Paul's not boasting in this passage Paul's just simply laying it out Of what he had before he got saved verse 4 he says I Said what oh yeah verse 4 through verse 6 and Though I might also have confidence in the flesh." In other words, he's saying, I had a lot to boast in if I wanted to. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof, he might trust in the flesh either more. In other words, I can always do one better than you. You know, there's people out there like that. If you tell them about something, you know, you caught a fish this long, they caught one this long. Well, no, really as I stop and think about it, I think my fish was really this long. You know, type of thing. They can always do one better. And Paul, it's what Paul's saying here. In the flesh, before he got saved, that's the way he was. And he says in verse 5, he says, let me give you some examples. Circumcised the eighth day of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, and Hebrew, of the Hebrews, as touching the law of Pharisees. I was on the top rung of the religious ladder. concerning zeal, persecuting the church, touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. But what things were gained to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung." Refuse is what he's saying, that I may win Christ. That's Christ's favor, that I may win the fact that Christ approves of my service for Him. Remember the story of the paralytic? Mark chapter 2 in the first five verses. I'm not going to go through the story, but let me just simply say this. The guy comes in, they bring him in. The four guys, they go get him. They bring him in, they can't get in, they go up on the roof, they start to tear the roof up. They didn't have to have a deacons meeting or anything to find out if it was okay to tear up the roof. They just said, we'll fix it later. And so they went in and they tore up the roof. But here's the thing, when the plaster began to fall and made all the noise and everybody wondered what was going on except Jesus, Jesus already knew what was going on. That's the amazing thing, right? And when all of a sudden the hole appeared, and there was a cot with a man on it, and four men sticking their heads in that hole and looking down. I'd like to have been there. I'd like to have been there and saw that, you know? And everybody's looking up, the four men are looking down, the paralytic is laying in front of them. Why did these men bring this cripple to Jesus? Because they loved him. And they knew that if they could get him to Christ, Christ could take care of him. And he did just that, didn't he? Physically and spiritually. They loved this man, and they would have done anything to get him to Jesus. As a matter of fact, they did. get him to Christ. People around them might have been questioning him and said, where in the world are you going? What are you doing? Somebody said, well, you know, it can't be done, you know, about the roof and all that stuff. Anyway, they went ahead and got him to Jesus. Now, I don't know about you, but there was no standing room, period. This place was packed like sardines from what I read. But if I saw a cot with a 120-pound probably man, he was sick. He may have weighed a little less. But if I saw this cot, maybe the cot weighed as much as the guy did. I don't know. But as they saw this cot come down, I don't know about you, but I'm going to make room for it. And they did. And they bring him to Christ. They didn't want to hurt him. And when he gets down at the feet of Jesus, Jesus looks up, I believe. And it's very interesting in that passage of scripture. The Bible says, when he saw their faith, their faith, and I think not just their faith, but he saw the faith of that paralytic, because that paralytic had to believe enough to let his friends take him. He had to have enough faith to think, okay, well, Jesus can take care of me. And when Jesus saw their faith, not his, theirs, those four heads peeking through the hole in the roof, what did he do? He looked down. He looked down at the man and he said, son, Mark 2 verse 5, thy sins be forgiven thee. Rise, take up thy bed and walk. I'd love to have seen that. I don't think anybody had to help him. Because I believe that when God healed him, it was a complete healing. It was all at once. And I believe that this paralytic felt the energy come into his body. And he felt the legs and his arms and whatever was paralyzed healed. And I believe he got up on his own. And he grabbed his cot and skipped all the way home. I don't know if he skipped or not, but can you imagine? Can you imagine? Running down the street, the five of them, heading home. I can just see them now, maybe hugging each other, crying on each other's shoulder from joy, arm in arm. Oh my. This fellow's looking down at his feet, maybe, and thinking to himself, you know what, I was carried over here. But I'm not walking home, I'm running home. shouting and praising God. Why? Why? Because somebody believed. And that somebody could and should be us. Because we believed somebody came to Christ. Because we believed the Lord took action upon. Because we prayed for 40 years a husband came to Christ. If we can get him to Jesus, all we gotta do is get him to Jesus and their needs will be met. His soul will be saved. There is no person too hard for God to save. No person. You know what, this is missions in action if you stop and you think about it. They went and brought him in. A lot of times we have no heart for those with a disability. In other countries, these kinds of people, deaf, paralytics, dumb, not able to speak, are outcasts of society. And as babies, their parents, if they notice these things, will take them and cast them out, literally, along the sides of the street. Let's not get up on our high horse of piety and think, and I want to be careful how I say this because I'm not saying this in an ugly way, I'm saying this from the heart, is let's be careful because we, in our own way, many times, have done the exact same thing. For God so loved the world. That's everybody. That's all of us. No one is excluded. Folks, this is missions in action, and every single one of us can have a part in that. Is anything too hard for the Lord? No, nothing is too hard for thee. Nothing. Do you believe it? Do you believe it more now than when you came in this evening? I pray so. I pray that this is simply an encouraging message for us tonight. You know, because this is so serious. There's so much yet that needs to be done before Christ comes. And he wants us to be a part of it. He wants us to have the joy of bringing others to Christ. of restoring believers one to another, of restoring a believer to Christ himself, whatever, even restoring our own, rededicating our own lives to Christ. Listen, that question is there for a purpose, and so is that answer. And it's asked in scripture, and I pray that as we leave tonight, that might be burned into our memory. By the way, everybody got 100, I'll just let you know. But that might be burned into our hearts Is there anything too hard for the Lord? No, there is nothing too hard for thee. Father, bless our time tonight. Bless these dear folks. We are a people who need you, Lord. We are frail. We are sinners saved by grace. But with you on our side and with your help, According to your word, we can do all things because you strengthen us. Father, I pray tonight you would just help us as we leave tonight to be more encouraged in carrying out the Great Commission, even we could look at it that way, in our own lives. Use us, Lord, I pray. In Jesus name, amen.
