Why Do Good People Miss Christ?

o To fully understand the love of Christ for His Church requires that our eagerness not be mislaid.

• We tend to desire Christ when it is convenient for us. (The Problem)
• The Lord Jesus, though gracious, is not subservient to the whims of our fickle nature. (The Correction)
• We all have places where we exclude Christ from our lives
• We all have self-made sources of righteousness
• We all still need the he presence of Christ above all else (Feeling our need is not enough)
• We all have been made to worship Christ (engaging in "worship" is not enough)
• We all may miss the opportunity to abide with Christ
• We are all destitute without the abiding love of Christ
• Failing to pursue Christ earnestly, puts us at great risk of abuse by the fallen world
around us. (The Follow Through)
