Covenant Baptism 2

We cover baptism in three points:
*Baptism and our identity in Christ
*Baptism and the Covenant of Grace
*Concerning the baptism of children.

The distance between God and the creature is so great that we as creatures cannot know Him unless He condescends to us.

God condescended to come to us in Jesus Christ, who humbled Himself even to death on the cross to take away our sin forever (Phil 2:5-10).

Jesus then retained the very marks of His crucifixion in His resurrected body for this is the price He paid that we might be in Him.

Baptism is God's sign of pouring out His Holy Spirit to redeem our hearts. It is God's sign that we can always look to for assurance that God has placed his seal upon us.

The Lord's Supper uses the language of redemption accomplished.
Baptism uses the language of redemption applied.
