All right, well, it certainly is a blessing to be here today. Thank you so much for the opportunity of being able to be with you again, helping to fill in for pastor as they're away enjoying themselves. And I'm glad that they're able to, and I'm sure it's much needed. Are they on a recreational vacation? Is that what they're on this time? Okay, so I'm sure they need the rest, but it's always a blessing to be with you and we are just privileged to be able to spend time together once again. I probably will give more of an update tonight in the evening service than I will this morning for the sake of time, but take your Bibles if you would. and turn with me to an Old Testament passage of scripture. And once I say the text, you're going to know what it is more than likely. And we'll shoot off from there. But go with me to 2 Chronicles chapter 7. We're going to look at verse 14 as we begin. And we'll have a word of prayer as we get started. But before we do that, As we look around us, we are living in a day that is very uncertain. All of our days before us have been uncertain, right? But it seems like that anymore in today's age, everything that's going on, we are in uncertain times. We definitely do not know what's going to happen one day to the next, do we? And as believers, we get kind of antsy about it, anxious about it, if you will. That's a part of our makeup. We're human. And we ask ourselves maybe even this question, we know what the answer is, but maybe we ask ourselves this question, what is the answer to all that's going on in our world, in our country, in our churches? I mean, we can just funnel it right on down, can't we? But you know, I believe that we are here, every single one of us, we are here for, at this point in history, for such a time as this. I do not believe in coincidence. I believe that as scripture tells us, God has a plan for us. God knows our ways. And God desires to use each and every one of us in His will and in His ministry. So I believe that we are here on purpose and for a purpose. Okay? And that is to proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. And every day that goes by, we see how depraved our world is, don't we? How depraved our society is. Sometimes we might think, is it worth it? There might be some here that are on the brink of no hope. And as we look around us, there's certainly reasons why we might think that there's no hope. But our hope is not in the world, is it? Our hope is where? Our hope is in the Lord. Feel free to say amen. Feel free to get excited. Okay? Because I might hear in just a little bit as well, and there's nothing wrong with that. There's a lot going on in our world. And I do not believe that God is finished with us yet. You say, well, how, why can you say that? Because we're still, we are still here. Even with the things that we see around us, the things that we endure, there is a remedy. There is an answer. The answer is not the next president of the United States. Don't care who he is. That's not the answer. We all know this morning that the answer is God. Right? He's the one that is sovereign. He is the one that is the ruler of all. He is the one that sees everything and is omnipotent, has all power. That's where our hope is in the Lord. And that remedy is found in the Word of God. So I want to take a few moments this morning as we look at this aspect of 2 Chronicles 7 and verse 14. Look at that verse with me if you would. You know what I'm sure. And the Bible says, God says, if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now the Lord has laid this message on my heart, and I'm not preaching it just in Faith Chapel, but I'm preaching it in many churches this year because I'm a firm believer that God is still, God can still send revival to our country. But folks, revival is going to start where? Right here. Now we've boiled it down to this building, into this congregation. Let's funnel it down a little further. Where will revival start? In me. In you. The question is, is how bad do we want it? How much do we want to see God work? I want to see him do great things. I want to see him turn this country around. Can he do that? Well, why can't he? He's God. And we'll look at some of that in just a few minutes as we continue on. But notice this verse of scripture is very important for us. I have two points, two major points, that's it. You say, well, that doesn't mean anything for a preacher. That's true. Paul said, finally, my brethren, and he continued for two more chapters. But here's the point. We have the recipe. for revival. We just need to follow it. Let's pray together. Father, we come to you this morning asking for your guidance and for your wisdom. We need your direction. We need your understanding. Simply put, Father, we need you. And we come to you this morning, I pray that all of us come to you this morning asking for direction, for conviction, for encouragement, for, and I might have said this, Lord, but for direction in our lives of where we need to be headed in these next days, hours, years in our Christian lives. What are we gonna do for you? How are we gonna serve you? Lord, we seek your blessing. We do seek revival in our country. We ask that our country might be turned around. Sure, we do. But Lord, in order for that to happen, we understand that in 2 Chronicles 7, 14, there are a couple of things that we have to do, and do from the heart, and do because we love you. Lord, we just pray your blessing upon our time this morning. I ask that you would be with pastor and sending family, Lord, as they're on vacation, that you would just bless them, keep them safe, give them the rest they need, and Lord, bring them back to these dear folks safely. Now, Father, again, we leave this service to you. We ask that you would quiet our hearts this morning. May we be able to put aside any event, anything that's yet to take place today. so that we might hear from you. Lord, all I am is a messenger. We want to hear from you today. Again, Lord, meet with us, we ask in Jesus' name and for his sake. Amen. If I were to title the message, it would simply be this, the if and then of God-anointed revival. the if and then of God-anointed revival. We have two things here in 2 Chronicles 7, verse 14. Number one, we have the condition, and number two, we have the solution. It's all written out for us. God says, this is what you need to do. So let's ask ourselves this question this morning. Are we one, or are you one, are we one whom God can use? Are we one whom God can use? The answer to that question is yes, we are one whom God can use, but now let's ask it changing one word and say it this way. Are we one whom God will use? That changes the answer to the whole question. Because now God will use us if we let Him use us. Oh, He certainly can, but will He? That's my choice. That's your choice. We've got a lot of work. You know, each day that comes along, we're a day closer to Christ, right? The return of our Lord. But there is still a lot of work that needs to be done on behalf of believers before the Lord Jesus returns in the air for us. Look at chapter 7 and verse 14 of 2 Chronicles there, if you would. Simply put, number one, we have the condition, if... God says in that passage of scripture, look at it, he says, if my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways. Let's stop there because that's point one. Notice what he says, my people called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face listen this is God's directive this isn't mine this is God's directive you say so what's he saying here simple number one he's saying if my people who are his people Us, believers, those that have accepted Christ, if my people, it's pretty simple, you know, if my people, so God is calling who? He's calling you, He's calling me. Doesn't matter how old we are, doesn't matter how young we are, doesn't matter how, the disabilities that we have, it does not matter. God can use us in any way, shape and form that He desires to, and if we allow Him to, He will. Sometimes I think we are not blessed because we get in God's way. I need to step back and step out of God's way and let him do what he's called me to do, what he's called us to do, and let God give the blessing. Sometimes we limit that, you see, and that can happen. And there's examples in scripture, but I don't have time to go into that. But notice what he says, if my people, the condition is if, yes, there's something we have to do. If my people, and I could stop and ask for a showing of hands of how many here this morning, I'm not doing that, but of how many here this morning are considered by God to be His people. Are we one of God's my people? I pray that everyone is. I pray that everyone knows the Lord Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior. If not, you need to before you leave this morning. Listen, this recipe won't work if you're unsaved for it. And God says, if my people, now let's go on, look what he says, called by my name. We are the called. Listen, God searched us out. We didn't seek him out, he sought us out. Remember when he was walking down the road? Remember the story of Zacchaeus? Zacchaeus and I have a lot in common. We can both see eye to eye on a lot of things. Because he was a short guy too, remember? Yeah, he was so short he had to climb a tree to see what Jesus was doing. And so he climbed that tree, and the Lord was passing by, and the Lord was seeking Zacchaeus, wasn't he? Because he stopped on the road, he looked up in the tree, and behold, there was Zacchaeus. And what did he say? Something simple. Zacchaeus, come down. I have a meeting with you at your home today. You don't realize that. You don't know that yet, but you do now. I have just made an appointment with you. He sought us. He came to what? The Bible says he came to seek. and to save that which was lost. That's me. That's you. We are the called by his name. We are his prized possession, if you will. The Bible says in the New Testament, don't remember the passage of scripture, but he calls us peculiar people. You remember that? Peculiar people. Now that term in and of itself can mean weird. And some of us might be weird, you know, but in the context of that scripture, that word carries the meaning of privately owned, private property. I am his and he is mine. And nobody can touch me. without the consent of Almighty God. Think about that. But let's go on. We're called by His name. Oh, now. Now we come to where the rubber is going to meet the road a little bit here, because this next word is a word that goes against our flesh. We do not like this word. But it is very, very important, because number one, we see it right second, after he says, called by my name, and he says, if my people that are called by my name, will what? Can you help me with that next word? Humble themselves. I had a guy in my church years ago when I was pastoring in West Virginia that had a guy, he was about as tall as Larry, and Larry's a lot taller than I am. Most people are a lot taller than I am, but anyway, he was Larry's height and well-built, and he came up to me and he made this statement. He said, preacher? Always called me preacher, never called me pastor, he just always called me preacher, which was fine. He said, preacher? He said, I think I'm pretty humble. I remember he was a lot taller than me, built more stout than I was. I thought, boy, you just, I didn't verbalize it, but I thought, boy, you just blew it. Humble themselves. The word humble simply means having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance. Listen, we are nothing but sinners saved by the grace of God. And it's God's grace that every single one of us is here in his house this morning and not out lying in a drunk ditch or addicted to dope somewhere down the road, isn't it? It's God's grace that we're even here. And we have a lot to praise him for. Yeah, those who claim to be humble are proud. Go with me if you would. We want to run a few scriptures this morning, if we might. And go with me to Romans chapter 12, if you would, and look at verse 3. Romans 12 and verse 3. Remember that term modest. It's not that we have to beat ourselves down. That's not what it's talking about. What it's talking about is simply this. We need to know our place. And you know what? I'm nothing but a servant. A lot of people don't want to be a servant. They want to be the master. They want to be the landlord. They want to be the boss. But in all reality, we are called to be servants of the Most High God. That is the highest honor, folks, that we can have. is a servant of Christ the Lord. Look at Romans 12, three. Now Romans 12, one and two was given to us very aptly good in Sunday school this morning, but let's go ahead and add verse three here. Paul says, for I say, good, look at it, through the grace given unto me. Can I stop there for just a minute? God gives us grace every day. He doesn't give us more grace than we need. He gives us enough grace, just enough grace that we need. And so Paul says, for the grace, for I say through the grace given unto me to every man that is among you, woman and child, it's collective, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think. You say, well, I've got these degrees behind my name. I don't care. I'm from West Virginia, the only thing those degrees are good for is that piece of paper is to put up over the holes in your wall to keep the winter air from coming in. Don't get me wrong, education is good, but what I'm saying is it goes to our heads. He says what? Not to think of myself more highly than I ought to think. And this is hard for us as human beings because our flesh is always warring against the spirit, Paul says, and the spirit against the flesh. And so then he says, but, okay, but here's what we should be doing, but to think soberly, seriously, okay? according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." Not thinking of oneself more highly than he ought to think. Somebody once said this, Pride is the most undetectable sin in oneself. Did you get that? Pride is the most undetectable sin in oneself. Now, I would say this if my wife wasn't here anyway. We say a lot of things about each other, but we have a lot of fun. We've been married for 36 years. My wife can see my pride in me better than I can see it in myself. You believe that? You say, well, yeah, wives are always looking for it. No, I'm just kidding. I'm kidding. No, the whole idea is that's a true statement. I was able to see the pride in that man in my church a lot easier than he could in the statement that he made. And when she says, well, he makes a statement or a comeback or, you know, kind of knocks me down a notch, do I like that, you know, about something that I feel proud about? And don't tell me that you've never felt proud about anything. We all have pride, don't we? There's the right kind of pride and there's the wrong kind of pride. Don't get me wrong there. But it's that pride to where we lift ourselves up to boast about ourselves, and that's not right. And so when that happens, when she comes back at me, she's my help, me, right? Know what the Bible says? We're helpers. I don't like it. And probably if I don't like it, there's probably several others of us husbands that don't like it either. I'm not the only one, am I? Okay, thanks, Larry. Appreciate that, brother. No, we're not. And it could be the other way around. Wives, so, you know, don't start getting proud now because I'm talking about the husbands. You know? No, it goes both ways, right? The whole idea is what? We buck against the fact when somebody calls us down for our pride. Wait a minute. If we get mad and upset about that, then who else do we get mad and upset about when he calls us down regarding our pride in Scripture? So therefore, if God's calling us down on our pride, then how in the world can we have revival in our hearts, in our church, in our county, in our state, in our country, when we have pride in our hearts? Listen, it doesn't work. That's the first thing God says. And you realize that without humility, we cannot approach the throne of God in prayer the right way. It does not work. It's easier for us to see it in others than it is for us to see it in ourselves. Listen, by the way, Proverbs 16 and verse 19, go back there real quick. Proverbs 16, I'm sorry, chapter six. Proverbs chapter six and verse 16. Scripture says, these six things doth the Lord hate, yea, seven are abomination unto him, a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. Look how wicked these things are. "...and hard that devised wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among the brethren." What's the first thing on that list? Pride. These six things that the Lord hates are an abomination unto Him. It's a divine hatred that God has, and the very first thing that's mentioned there is a proud look. Isn't that amazing? No, not really. Again, because we cannot approach God on the right ground, on holy ground, with pride in our lives. Humility, folks, is the opposite of pride. Humility is the opposite of pride. What does he say there in our text? He says, and shall humble themselves. humble themselves. That means I have to humble me. Humble me. In the flesh, this is not an easy task. Brother Kurt mentioned in Sunday school about the me society that we live in. It's all about me. That goes clear back to the Garden of Eden if you stop and think about it. But it's all about me, and it's so much worse today, and that is so true. But can I say this? It's not about me. It's not about us. It's all about God. We are here to serve Him, not to serve ourselves. And folks, do you realize this? I'm sure as much as I do. In the flesh, this is not an easy task to do, but God can and will help us. Scripture tells us, but I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me. God gives me the strength and the power to overcome these things in my life. Brother Jim Braceland, who is with Silent Word Ministry over around the Valley Forge area, Silent Ministries is down in Tennessee, But Jim lives over in Valley Forge area, Jim and Terry Braceland. And Jim wrote a devotional, it was entitled Life Lessons devotional from my heart to yours. If I remember right, he wrote this devotional for his daughters. It's a year long devotional, very good. And he made a statement in there that caught my attention. And it says this, I'm gonna read it because it's a quote. And Jim said this, he said, quote, our pride is the enemy of God's grace. Our pride will always promote us and eventually our sinfulness and will demote God from the place of prominence in our life. Pride will destroy any hope of living in a godly fashion in an ungodly society." And how true that is. So God says, first of all, my dear friends, that he's called us, but then he says, under this condition of if, we humble ourselves. He's called us to humble ourselves, you see. But let's go on. Look, what's the next thing he says? And shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face. We'll put those two together. And pray and seek my face. Prayer is a vital part of the believer's life. It better be. It ought to be. You know, I have communication with friends and relatives and so on, and my wife and our children and our grandchildren. If I don't communicate with them, I'm not going to have a relationship with them, am I? You know, if you just sit and stare at somebody, and they just sit and stare at you, isn't that a lot of fun? You know, I always hate to get phone calls where it's a one-sided phone call, you know, and you answer the phone or you call somebody and ask them a question and all they say is yes, and that's it, you know, yes. And it's like, no, we have to build a relationship. How do we build a relationship with God then? by after humbling ourselves, because the psalm tells us, if we, if I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. Pride, as described in scripture, is a sin, and therefore, I cannot approach God with that sin of pride in my life. I will not be able to humble my, I will not be humble when I approach the Lord, if I don't humble myself. Therefore my prayers are not going to go any higher than the roof and then the ceiling in the building that I am or wherever. But God is saying and pray and seek my face. We need to pray with fervency. That's going to happen when we humble our hearts. That's going to happen as we develop a relationship with God. We need to pray with fervency. We need to pray for stability in our Christian lives. Prayer is vital. That's why Paul says in, I think, Thessalonians says, pray without ceasing. We talk, some people talk without ceasing. Bless her heart. You just look at them and you think sometimes, okay, breathe. Please breathe. But You know, God wants us to come to him. God wants us to talk with him. God wants a relationship with him. And as we develop that, God then will begin to work. He says, pray and seek my face. You ever play hide and seek? Not as us old folks, you know, but young, when we were kids, younger. How many of you ever played hide and seek? Come on, be honest. Yeah, yeah. Some places I'm at and I ask him that and it's like, And I said, when you're kids, you ashamed you played hide and seek when you were a kid? Anyway, yeah. So when we played hide and seek, though, as a kid, we upped it one notch. We had a dodgeball that we took out with us. And the person that had to tag somebody when you found them, you had to hit them with this dodgeball. So you hoped you got pretty close to them so you could hit them pretty hard, you know? But anyways, we just wanted them to know that they were it. That's what it was. But anyway, yeah, we've played hide and seek, haven't we? Sure, we tell the people to go hide, and then we seek them out, right? What do we do? We count to whatever. We cheat when we count. Count to 100, we go by fives or we go by tens. You know, anyway, so we go to find them. Listen, God says, pray and seek what? Seek my face. When I'm seeking the face of God, where is my focus? My focus is on Him, and Him alone, and that's where it should be, if we want God to work. God wants to work, my dear friends. He wants to work. Revival is a possibility. Don't let anybody tell you anything else because if they're telling you that our country, our county, our state, our churches cannot have revival, they are limiting the power of God and they do not believe God's word. He says, pray and seek my face. How do I do that? I get alone with God and I bear my heart to him. Genuinely. Not because the pastor says I have to have devotions in a devotional booklet and spend five minutes in prayer time. No, no, no, no, no. Get alone with God and bear your heart to him. Jeremiah 33 in verse 3, Jeremiah says, God and Jeremiah, and that chapter says, call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things that thou knowest not. God says, you call, I'll answer. And I'll show you things that will blow your mind. And that's what it's talking about, things that in ways we cannot even comprehend with our natural sight and different things. Listen, God, the question is, is do we believe that God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think according to Ephesians 3.20? Do we really believe that? Do we really believe God? I pray we do. Because if you don't, you're not going to have the power of God upon your life. My friends, listen. And I say this everywhere I preach this message. I pray that God begins revival right here in Faith Chapel of Carlisle. You want revival? We need to act like it. Do you want revival? Do you really? Who's gonna send it? God's gonna send it, but I have to want it. You have to want it. Humble ourselves and pray and seek my face. Seek God and call on Him. To whom are we praying? We're praying to God. Remember old Sheffy in the movie Sheffy? I'm sure that many of you here probably have seen that movie. Sheffy would go up on the mountainside to pray every day. He'd pray for hours at a time, took his sheepskin with him, would lay down on the ground and he would bow and pray to the Lord for hours at a time. People would walk by down below and they knew he was up there praying. And one time as he was praying, somebody had told this Methodist preacher that Sheffy's up there hours at a time. I don't know what he's doing, but he's up there doing hours at a time. So this Methodist preacher walked down the road and met him there as Sheffy was coming out. And he said, Brother Sheffy, he said, people are telling me you're up in the mountains and you're praying or whatever you're doing up there for hours at a time. And he said, what are you doing? He said, I'm talking to God. And Sheffy, in Sheffy's way, looked at this preacher and he said, by the way, whom do you talk to when you pray? And how true that is. I guess my question is this, to whom, let me put it this way, are we just praying to hear ourselves? You know, we can pray an eloquent prayer. God doesn't ask us to pray an eloquent prayer. I love to hear some of the old-time people, lay people, down in West Virginia, with their accent, just get with God and pray. In our church that I pastored down there, we had some people that did that, and it was just sweet. There was nothing eloquent about it. But I'm sure that God heard it. You see, God wants that relationship. I hope we're not just praying to hear ourselves pray, because if we are, then we need to get some things taken care of. I read a book entitled Hand of Providence, Faith of Ronald Reagan. It was written by Mary Beth Brown. And it was interesting. I believe that Ronald Reagan was a believer. I believe he was a Christian. And at his inauguration, he used his mother's old Bible, her old taped up Bible for his swearing in. I don't know how many of you realize that or not. And a lot of times when they do the swearing in, you'll hold the Bible with it closed. But they had it open that day when President Reagan was sworn in. Anybody have any idea what passage of scripture it might have been open to for his inauguration when he was swearing in? It was open to 2 Chronicles chapter 7 and verse 14. And his mother had put a written note in the margin. It said, this is a good verse for the healing of the nations too. Listen, folks, the nations will not be healed until the people of the nations turn their heart to God, their eyes, their ears, their direction, until we seek God and carry out this so important verse. Look at the next thing, though. Turn from their wicked ways. Turn, that's a simple word. It just simply means to change direction, to change the direction of the mind, in this case. to change the direction of the heart, from evil to righteousness, from wrong to right. This is God's directive. Four times we see in that verse, four times the personal pronouns of I or my are used. This is God speaking. But you say, you know what, preacher, all that you're saying sounds good and everything, but you say, I don't want to humble myself. I don't have to humble myself. I'm OK. I'm good like I am. Things are going good. I don't want to pray any more than I'm praying. I'm seeking the face of God. I think as much as I need to seek the face of God, I don't really have any sins that I need to turn away from. I think I'm OK. then if that's what you think, you're not okay. Because if that's the way that we're thinking, then there will be no then. That's the second point. Then, look at it, the second part of the verse. Then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. The solution along with the condition is given to us. How many of us follow the directions when we get an appliance or we get a bicycle for our kids or something like that and we don't put it together right? You know, we're told, read the directions, I got it. I only have five parts left over, but I got it right. You know what I realized the other day? I had to weed eat our yard the other day. And for years, been several years, we've had this weed eater. And I've been, you know, I thought I read the directions, but evidently I didn't. And if I read them, they didn't sink in. But yesterday I had to rewire the twine on the weed eater. And I thought, you know what? This has been so hard for me over the years to do. I was always frustrated when I had to rewire the weed eater. Because it took so long to do. You know what I did? I got the directions out. It was really simple. I was taking the head off and pulling it apart and everything. Didn't even have to do that. I hadn't told my wife this yet, so she now knows and she'll rib me about it later. All you had to do was push the head of the weed eater down and feed the wire all the way through. I was trying to put in two pieces, two separate pieces on each side. And the wire fed all the way through. You pull it through, equal it out, and then you take the head and push it down a little bit and just wind it on. I thought, you've got to be kidding me. For years, I wasn't doing it right. And what happens when we don't do it right? It's not going to work. Well, it worked, but when it came to changing the wire, yeah, it didn't. It was really frustrating. But I had the solution. It was in the directions. And we have the solution in the Word of God. He says, then, after the conditions, after I humble myself, and after I pray, and I seek the face of God, and I turn from our wicked ways, He says, then will I... What's the next word? Hear. Then will I hear. Then I, God, will hear. Listen folks, the hearing has to come from heaven. The healing has to be from heaven. You with me? Because it's God's hearing and it's God's healing. And then he says, I'll forgive their sin. and will heal their land. Pardon, it's the idea of pardon for giving of sins. A pardon, no penalty. Pardon is simply this, giving up all claim to any kind of resentment or vengeful feelings against somebody. You know, God could hold us accountable for a lot of things, can't he? The way we treat him, the way man treated him, the way they crucified him, all that stuff. But God is willing to pardon us and to forgive us of our sins. In other words, to not hold against. He says, I will forgive their sin. And then what? He says, I'll heal their land. That word heal just simply says, means to make free from injury or disease, to make sound or whole, to restore to health. One of the other definitions is to restore to our original purity or integrity. I want God to hear. Do you? I want God to heal. Do we all? I certainly want God to forgive the sins. And I pray that we all do. I want the healing of our land. You say, but you know, America's not mentioned in the end times and all of this prophetic stuff, that's true, but how do we know that God's finished with America yet? We don't. So let's stop trying to limit God and use our excuses to live our lives the way we want to live when we know how we should be living according to the Word of God. It's that simple. Listen, if we do not the if, God will not hear, and if he does not hear, he will not forgive, and if he does not forgive, he will not heal. Psalm 66, 18, I quoted this earlier. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. God desires to heal. We quoted Jeremiah 33, 3 a little while ago. Call unto me and I'll answer thee. I'll show you. God says you call and I'll answer. Folks, listen, if we seek Him in humility, if we follow His remedy, if we turn from our wicked ways, God says, I will act. Can I say this? Who are we to go out and tell others to turn from their wicked ways when we aren't even doing the same? God desires to manifest himself to his people, just as we as parents desire to reward and manifest our love and reward our children. We're the children of God. And as God's children, we need to get a hold of God, and in return, let him get a hold of us. And I believe, folks, that as we begin to humble ourselves and carry out this passage of Scripture in 2 Chronicles 7, verse 14, God will begin to work. Don't do it because somebody else has told you to. God always works with a remnant. God will use us if we allow Him to. You remember in the Old Testament when Abraham was interceding for Sodom? Interceding for Lot, I mean. And it got down back in the book of Genesis chapter 18. If you want to just go there real quick. Genesis chapter 18. We know the story, the account. But in Genesis chapter 18. And go back with me if you look at verse 30. And it says, and he said unto him, oh, let not the Lord be angry. This is Abraham talking to God. And he said, and I will speak. He's come to God several times now. And he said, now, Lord, don't be angry with me again. You know, not yet. I have another question for you. Aren't you glad that you can come to God and ask God any question, any time, and ask him the same question over and over? And God's not going to get upset. And he says, God, just by chance, he said, let me ask you this in verse 30. Peradventure, there shall be, there shall 30 be found there. And this is for the intervention on, for a lot. Will you spare Sodom and Gomorrah? And he said, I will not do it. I will not destroy it if I find 30 there. And he said, behold, now I have taken up upon me to speak unto the Lord. Peradventure, there shall be 20 found there. What if there's just 20, Lord? There's not 30, but there's just 20. And he said, I will not destroy it for 20 sake. Well, Abraham wasn't quite finished yet. Okay, verse 32. And he said, oh, let not the Lord get angry. And I'll just, I just, one more time, Lord, I just want to ask you one more time, just, just to make sure, for adventure 10, what if there's only 10 righteous people in the cities? Look what God says. He says, I will not destroy it for 10's sake. If there are ten righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah, I will spare it. Do you remember how many were there? One. Lot. Everyone else was destroyed. And as I looked at that scripture and I thought about it, I thought, Lord, percentage wise in comparison with Sodom and Gomorrah and how many righteous you would have spared those cities for, for 10. How many righteous would it take in America for you to spare this country? Folks, we are on a precipice. And we are about to go over the edge. But I love scripture when it says, but God. But God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think. And how does that come about? If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways. But God, then, will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Folks, let this be an encouragement to us because God can do what God proclaims he can do and he desires to begin it if we will let him with faith chapel. I wanna see that. And I pray that every church I go into as we deliver the word of God, that God, that revival start in this church. And you start a fire, what happens? It spreads. You give it the fuel and it spreads. So let it be an encouragement to us because God can do what he proclaims he can do. We just maybe sometimes need to get out of his way and let him do it. But we need to be sincere and we need to follow his direction. Psalm 139 verses 23 and 24 say this, and I'm finished. Search me, oh God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts. Test me is what he's saying. And see if there be any wicked way in me. And lead me into the way everlasting. Psalm 85 6 says, Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee? My dear friends, God is the only one who can send revival. He desires to. He wants to. But his people have to be willing to let him. And yeah, Even as Brother Kurt said in Sunday School, we have to deny ourself and take up our cross and follow Him.
