This is a picture of the first act of the First Continental Congress. This was the meeting of the representatives of the colonies before the meeting, where they voted to separate from England and establish the Declaration of Independence. But this is a picture of one of the first things that they did. They appointed a chaplain, and then they prayed. And so this is our I guess you could call this, this is our legacy. This is our heritage as Americans. This is how we started out. And if we're going to continue as a nation, this is how we must continue. In Psalm number 144, David is calling unto the lord here and he's he's calling out on behalf of himself in the nation of israel, but he says things that are Really have a universal application Psalm 144, verse 11 says, rid me and deliver me from the hand of strange children. That's not talking about children who act strangely or who need to be medicated or something. But strange here is talking about children that don't come from where I come from, children that have different gods, children that have different perspectives on things other than following the Lord. Deliver me from the hand of strange children whose mouth speak of vanity and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood. Deliver me that our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth, that our daughters may be as cornerstones polished after the similitude of a palace. That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store, that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets. That reminds me of a scene that you might see in Ireland or the British Isles where where a shepherd is herding his flock of sheep in the middle of the road there. that our oxen may be strong to labor, that there be no breaking in or going out, that there be no complaining in our streets, that is, no protesting, no riots, no outcries in our streets. And you see, he's asking for all these things as a result of being delivered from strange children, as a result of being delivered from those who speak lies and falsehoods. Happy is that people that is in such a case, yea, happy is that people whose God is the Lord. Whenever he says, yea, happy is that people that is in such a case, he's stating a principle that applies not only to the nation of Israel, but to any nation who will take the Lord as their God. And that's what this picture is. This is a picture that shows that The men that started out on this nation acknowledged the Lord as their God, and they sought his blessing and guidance and protection. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, shall humble themselves and pray, If my people, which are called by my name, shall seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven from heaven, then will I hear and will forgive, forgive their sin. If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, shall humble themselves and pray. I will forgive their sin. I will forgive their sin. forgive their sin. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, shall humble themselves, shall humble themselves, and pray So,
