The Sick Need a Doctor

In an effort to preserve holiness and uphold the law of God, the Christian will often forget that the law's demands are summed up by love for God and for our neighbor. The Pharisees did not understand why Jesus ate with sinners. He did not do so to indulge the flesh, but because He loved the sinner and fulfilled the law of God. A wrong understanding of the law and its purpose will lead us away from the Lord and cause us to place confidence in our flesh.
