Gathered Worship in the Psalms

This sermon focuses on the central role that congregational worship had in the life of the psalmists and all those who worshiped Yahweh. Believers had long had the practice of gathering in solemn assembly before David. But David's psalm here shows us that Yahweh worshippers have a strong, unquenchable desire to worship and thank him in the midst of the congregation. One of their chief activities as gathered worshippers is to extol their God for the perfections of his being and attributes, vocalizing with vibrant dedication to and gladness in Yahweh's salvation. So congregational worship continues today as a fundamental experience of true NT worshippers.
