We Have No King

We find Samuel and the elders of the Children of Israel wrestling with a problem when we open out Bibles to 1 Samuel 8. Samuel, aware that his ministry was drawing to a close, sought to fill the leadership void by appointing his sons to follow him. The problem was that his sons were not men of character. The Elders of Israel, not wanting Samuel's solution decided it was time to have a king. The problem was God had not yet decided it was time to have a king.
